The Study on Aerodynamic Characteristics for the Design of High Efficiency Jet Vane (고 효율 제트 베인 설계를 위한 공기역학적 특성 연구)

  • Of the various means for active trajectory correction, a thrust vector control system represents the only principle independent of missile external forces so that this method is operative. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristic of jet vane TVC(Thrust vector control) system among mechanical jet deflection. To ensure high performance leading edge shape, aspect ratio and ablated condition is optimized. Supersonic flow system, jet vanes and nozzle with Mach number 2.88 and under expansion ratio 2 were designed to study aerodynamic characteristics of leading edge shape, aspect ratio and ablated conditions.

  • Although the TBM method is mainly adopted in overseas market including the Europe, etc, the method scarcely adopted in domestic market. For highly enhancing applications of the TBM method for railway, It is needed to select the optimal cross-section considering design elements of civil engineering and aerodynamic effects. Also, it is needed to establish plan of proper section as well as reviewing aerodynamic effects and consideration about civil engineering elements such as length of tunnel, speed of railway, height of whole lines and size of utility tunnel, etc. Even though it should be recently considered high-speed railway tunnels and required to be standard establishments in aerodynamic reviews, it is being applied to be criteria of inconsistent pneumatic analysis owing to be not related with domestic standards. In this study, therefore, we are willing to establishment of domestic and foreign aerodynamic standards and investigate correlation between optimal cross-section and aerodynamic effects of TBM railway tunnels.

  • A goal of improving projectile is to increasing achievable range. The shape of a projectile is generally selected on the basis of combined aerodynamics and structural considerations. The choice of body, nose and boattail shape has a large effect on aerodynamic design. One of the main design factors that affect projectile configuration is aerodynamic drag. The aerodynamic drag refers to the aerodynamic force that acts opposite to the relative motion of a projectile. An investigation was made to predict the effects of nose, boattail and body shapes on the aerodynamic characteristics of projectiles using a semi-empirical technique. A parametric study is conducted which includes different projectile geometry. Performance predictions of achievable range are conducted using a trajectory simulation model. The potential of extending the range of a projectile using optimization of projectile configuration is evaluated. The maximum range increase is achieved due to the combination of optimal body shapes.

  • In this study, we measure the aerodynamic forces acting on an AREX train in a crosswind by wind tunnel testing. A detailed test model scaled to 5% of the original and including the inter-car, under-body, and the bogie systems was developed. The aerodynamic forces on the train vehicles have been measured in a 4 m $\times$ 3 m test section of the subsonic wind tunnel located in Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI). The aerodynamic forces and moments of the train model on two different track models have been plotted for various yaw angles, and the characteristics of the aerodynamic coefficients have been analyzed at the experimental conditions.

  • 고속열차의 운행속도가 증가함에 따라 이전보다 공기역학적인 요소들의 중요성이 커지고 있다. 열차와 터널의 형상설계뿐만 아니라 주변 환경을 위해 고속 주행하는 열차 주변의 유동장을 이해할 필요성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 고속 주행으로 인해 열차 주변에 발생하는 열차풍을 분석하여 선로 주변에 작용하는 풍하중을 계산하였고, 터널 주행 시 발생하는 압력변동과 객차 연결부의 비정상 열린 공동 유동을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 2차원 해석의 정량적 한계점이 나타났지만, 정성적인 경향은 선행연구와 잘 일치함을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 고속열차 주변의 공기역학적 특성의 이해와 열차 및 터널의 형상 변화에 따른 상대적인 비교를 위해서는 EDISON_CFD를 이용한 2차원 해석이 유용함을 볼 수 있었다.

Spectral & Aerodynamic Analysis of Cries in Infants with Cleft Lip and Palate. (구순구개열 환아의 crying에 대한 음향학적 및 공기역학적 분석)

  • 언어 발달의 조기 단계를 이해하기 위한 일환으로 crying은 언어전 발달의 기초 단계로서 여러 학문적 분야에서 많은 연구가 있어왔다. 그러나 구순구개열(CLP))환아의 경우는cry-producing/control mechnism에 variation이 많은 이유로 이 분야의 연구는 거의 없는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 의문점을 가지고 CLP환아의 cry feature에 대한분석을 하였다. 첫째, 정상아와 CLP환아의 cry에 전형적인 차이가 있는가? 둘째, CLP환아의 술전, 술후 cry feature에 변화가 있는가? 셋째, cry분석이 CLP환아의 이후 speech disorder에 대한 언어전 평가로서의 가치가 있는가? 넷째, 특정 parameter가 언어전 평가에 적절한 도구로 작용할 수 있는가? 생후 15개월 이내의 CLP 환아 3명과 유사한 나이대의 정상아 8명의 cry에 대한 공기역학 및 음향음성학적 분석을 통해 CLP 환아와 정상아, CLP환아의 술전, 술후 cry특성을 비교 분석하였다. 결과는 다음과 같다. 1 공기역학적 분석 1) airflow는 CLP 환아의 경우 정상아보다 약간 높았고 술 후 약간 증가하였다. 2)폐활량을 나타내는volume에서는 정상아보다 술전 CLP환자의 경우 보상적으로 더 큰 수치를 보였고 술후 약간 증가하였다. 3)강도를 나타내는 parameter(SPL)에서는 정상아 보다 술전 CLP환자의 계측치가 약간 작았으나 술 후 증가하는 양상을 보였다. 2. 음향음성학적 분석 1)기저 주파수 분석시 정상아에 비해 술 전 CLP환자의 경우 계측치가 약간 낮았으나 술 후 증가하여 정상군의 계측치에 근접하였다. 2)강도를 나타내는energy 측정시 정상아에 비해 술 전 CLP계측치가 보상성으로 약간 큰수치를 나타내었고 술 후 약간 더 증가하였다. 3) Shimmer에서는CUI환자의 술후계측치가술전에 비해 현저히 감소하여 정상군의 수치에 근접하였다.

  • The aerodynamic performances of Darrieus wind turbine were studied through the wind tunnel model tests and its analytical aerodynamic streamtube model. Hence, analytical streamtube model which is based on momentum and blade element theory is considered and the formulated model was generalized in non-dimensional type to predict the aerodynamic characteristics of Darrieus wind turbine. The analytical model was justified through the wind tunnel model tests for several experimental conditions but in the limited rages. These satisfactory comparative studies between the wind tunnel tests and the analytical predictions can be utilized for the basic reliable design of Darrieus wind turbine.

Requirement Analysis and Drag Prediction for the Aerodynamic Configuration of a Bearingless Rotor Hub (무베어링 로터 허브 형상에 대한 요구도 분석 및 항력 예측)

  • The requirement for the aerodynamic hub drag, allocated from the system requirement of development of a bearingless rotor hub, was analyzed and embodied to be substantiated by the methodology assigned from the requirement. Drag prediction for the initial hub configuration was carried out by hand calculation using aerodynamic drag coefficients and the design change about the sectional shape of torque tube was suggested to satisfy the requirement. Finally, drag prediction was performed for the changed hub configuration by using unstructured overset mesh technique and parallel computation and the calculated result satisfied the requirement of the aerodynamic hub drag. It was found that the drag of final hub configuration was also within the range of drag inferred from the trendline of developed helicopter.

  • The aim of this study was to analyze the aerodynamic properties of the composite cable-stayed bridge by conducting three-dimensional wind tunnel tests. Focusing on the improved section of the bridge in the two-dimensional wind tunnel tests, the bridge's aerodynamic stability was estimated based on the angles of attack and the wind angles. The aerodynamic properties of vertical galloping, torsion galloping,and torsion flutter were also estimated based on the design wind velocity, and because much of the cable-stayed bridge was constructed using FCM, it was not sufficiently stiff during the bridge's construction. Therefore,the experience progressed by stages: from the full stage to the tow stage, and until the bridge became a single tower. Since the original plane was designed to be a steel box girder, the aerodynamic properties of the steel-box-type and composite-type girder could be compared. The results of this study can be utilized as basic data regarding the aerodynamic properties of medium-length and short composite cable-stayed bridges.

A Study on the Design of Coal Gasification Unit using Computational Fluid Dynamics (전산유체역학을 이용한 분류층 석탄가스화기 설계연구)

  • 분류층 가스화기 설계를 위한 일차연구로서 가스화기 종횡비, 주입方法, 선회강도 및 주입속도 등에 따른 비반응 난류장 특성을 수치해석적 방법에 의해 파악하였다. 수치해석은 검사체적에 기초한 Patankar의 유한차분방법을 이용하였으며 압력과 속도의 연계문제는 SIMPLEC 알고리즘을, 레이놀즈 전단력은 K- 난류모델을 사용하였다. 입자궤적 계산은 공기역학적 향력만을 고려하였으며 비선형적인 공기저항력에 의한 난류변동상관모델은 고려치 않았다. 이차공기 주입방법(parallell injection과 nonparallel 3$0^{\circ}C$ imjection)에 따른 수치해석을 수행하여 Ar tracer의 질량분율 및 기타 속도에 대한 實驗資料와 비교하여 만족할 만한 結果를 얻었다. 나아가서 假想的인 가스화기 모델을 대상으로 가스화기의 종횡비, 선회강도, 주입속도 및 주입각 등에 따른 와류 形成 위치 등을 포함한 유동장 특성 및 입도에 따른 궤적분석을 시도하였다.
