  • 터어보과급 디이젤 엔진의 저속 및 급가속영역에서 발생하는 매연의 배출을 억제하기 위하여 흡 입 공기량을 증가시키는 방안으로서 흡기관의 동적효과를 이용하기 위한 통합과급 시스템을 개발 하였다. 동조회전수에 있어서 음향임피던스 방법에 의하여 공명흡기관의 칫수를 결정하였고 흡입 공기 냉각기를 부착하여 전 회전영역에서의 흡입공기 밀도비를 증가시켰다. 기존 엔진을 변형한 두가지 시스템을 설계하여 성능측정을 하였으며, 이들에 대한 비교 및 실용성에 관해 자세히 언 급하였다.

Improvement of Cooling Effects of Pylon Injector for Scramjet Combustor (스크램제트 연소기용 파일런 분사기 냉각성능 개선 연구)

  • A new film cooling method to protect the pylon injector from aerodynamic heating for a scramjet combustor is proposed and verified with numerical methods. The conditions for the Mach 8 flight at an altitude of 35km are considered. Air is considered as a coolant. Three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations with $k-{\omega}$ SST turbulence model are used. A downward injection of coolant from the top of the pylon gives higher cooling effects with less mass flow rate of coolant than the upward coolant injection from bottom of the pylon. Also, the downward injection shows little flow separation due to the favorable pressure gradient and does not disturb the flowfields near pylon injector, which results in reduction of pressure losses.

  • 천체관측은 무한대 거리에서 오는 광자의 양을 측정하는 분야로 미량의 광자를 측정하기 위하여 측정기의 냉각은 아주 중요한 문제가 되었다. 과거에는 측정기 냉각에 드라이아이스가 사용되어 왔으며, 1980년대에는 액체질소를 이용한 냉각이 주를 이뤘다. 액체질소를 이용한 냉각 방식은 액체질소를 생성하거나 구입하여야 하는 불편함이 있었으며, 주입시 낮은 온도로 인하여 항상 안전사고에 대비하여야 했다. 1990년대 이후 다양한 상업용 CCD의 개발로 인하여 상대적으로 저렴한 CCD를 판매하였으며, 상업용 CCD는 이전 -110℃의 냉각이 아닌 -30℃의 냉각 성능을 보였다. 상업용 CCD는 CCD 칩 내부의 진공 구현이 미비하였으며, 초기 판매시 아르곤 가스 또는 실리카겔 등으로 CCD 칩 내부의 습도를 낮춰왔으나, 구입 후 1~2년이 지나면 점차 가스 누설로 인하여 CCD 칩 내부에 얼음이 생기는 문제가 발생하기 시작하였다. 이번 연구는 CCD 칩 내부 공간에 진공튜브를 삽입하여 실시간 진공상태를 측정하는 한편, 10Torr 이상 진공 도달시 자동으로 내부 공기를 흡입하여 CCD 칩 내부를 항시 10Torr 이하로 유지하도록 개발하였으며, 10Torr 이하의 진공 유지시 습도 99%의 환경에서 최대 냉각인 -35℃를 유지하여도 전혀 얼음이 생기지 않음을 확인하였다. 이번연구로 개발된 자동 진공조절시스템이 각 천문대에서 사용중인 상업용 CCD에 적용된다면, 날씨환경에 관계없이 항상 최대냉각 상태로 천체관측을 진행할 수 있으리라 기대된다.

Development of High Efficiency Dehumidifiers in low temperature (저온에서 고효율 제습기 개발)

  • Various applications require dry air at low temperature, such automation equipment, semiconductor manufacturing, chemical production lines, and coating processes for the shipbuilding industry. Four evaporators for low temperature (below $0^{\circ}C$) were installed for a dehumidification system. Moist air is cooled sequentially over three evaporators. The first evaporator has an evaporation temperature of $13^{\circ}C$, that of the second evaporator is $5^{\circ}C$, and that of the third evaporator is maintained at $-1.3^{\circ}C$. In the fourth evaporator implantation thereby the moisture contained in the moisture air. A pressure regulator (CPCE 12) is used at this point and is defrosted when the vapor pressure is below a set value. The non-implantation moisture of the air is a heating system that uses the waste heat of a condenser with high temperature. It develops the cooling type's dehumidifier, which is important equipment that prevents the destruction of protein and measures the temperature and humidity at each interval by changing the front air velocity from 1.0 m/s to 4.0 m/s. The cooling capacity was also calculated. The greatest cooling capacity was 1.77 kcal/h for a front air velocity of 2.0 m/s

  • As environmental restriction kas continuously become more strict, machining technology has emphasized on development of environment-friendly technology. In cutting technology, it has been well recognized that cutting fluids might have undesirable effects on workers health and working environment. In this study, compressed cold air was used as a replacement for conventional cutting fluids. The cooling effect on cutting tool was analyzed using the finite element method and the computational fluid dynamics. This study focused on the temperature simulation of cutting tool by real flow analysis of cold air. The maximum flow rate and the minimum temperature of compressed cold air are 300ι/min and -30$^{\circ}C$ respectively. To compare the simulation and experimental results, inner temperature of the cutting tool was measured with the thermocouple embedded in the insert. The results show that the analysis of cutting temperature using FEM and CFD is resonable, and the replacement of cutting fluid with cold air is available.

  • A high speed spindle system for machine tools can be used to reduce the machining time, to improve the machining accuracy, to perform the machining of light metals and hard materials, and to unite the cutting and grinding processes. In this study, a high speed spindle system is developed by applying the oil-air lubrication method, angular contact ball bearings, injection nozzles with dual orifices, cooling jacket and so on. And an air cooling experiment for evaluating the performance of the spindle system is carried out. Especially, in ofder to establish the air cooling conditions related to the development of a high speed spindle system, the effects of cooling air pressure, oil supply rate, air supply rate and rotational spindle speed are studied and discussed on the bearing temperature rise and frictional torque. Also the effects of cooling air pressure, rotational spindle speed and spindle system structure is investigated on the bearing temperature distribution. The experiment on the test model reveals the usefulness of the air cooling method.
