The Effect of ERP System's Maturity on the Implementation of SCM System (ERP시스템의 성숙도가 SCM시스템 구축에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Recently many manufacturing companies have tried to implement the Supply Chain Management system to enhance productivity with low cost. Generally the SCM system is implemented on the basis of ERP system. So it is necessary to find out the relationships between these two Information systems to make sure that the SCM system is implied successfully in the company. The goal of this paper is to find out how the Enterprise Resource Planning system's maturity affects on the implementation intension of Supply Chain Management system in manufacturing companies in korea. To achieve this goal, the empirical research about influence of ERP system on SCM system was carried out. The result of this research can be usefully referred in decision making process for the successful implementation of the SCM system in manufacturing company.

  • Korean foreign direct investment (FDI) firms procure cheap raw materials, produce goods in developing countries featuring low rent and labor costs, and sell goods in world market. In this regard, global supply chain management is important to Korean FDI firms. The objective of this study is to analyze gaps in the performance of reliability and quality of supply chain orientations. To achieve this objective, this study confirms theoretical relationships between variables through prior research, selects measuring variables, and analyzes data collected from Korean FDI firms. Results are as follows; First, there is a gap in reliability performance among the levels of supply chain orientation. Managers should check the level of their supply chain orientation and make strategic and structural efforts to improve reliability performance. Second, there is a gap in quality performance among the levels of supply chain orientation. To improve quality performance, managers should identify the level of their supply chain orientation. In addition, managers can enhance quality performance on the basis of strategic and structural efforts.

  • 본 연구에서는 발주자 입장에서 PMI(Project Management Institute)에서 정의하고 있는 프로젝트 범위관리 활동을 범위의 기획 및 정의, 범위의 검증, 범위의 통제 3가지로 구분하고, 프로젝트의 성과를 프로젝트 과정에 대한 성과와 제품에 대한 성과 2가지로 구분하여, 각각의 범위관리 활동들이 각각의 프로젝트 성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치고 있는지에 대한 실증연구를 진행 하였다. 이와 동시에 프로젝트의 규모, 공급자 유형, 경험여부와 같은 프로젝트 특성이 범위관리 활동과 프로젝트 성과 사이의 관계에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대한 연구도 병행하였다. 본 연구의 의의는 발주자 입장에서 범위관리 각각의 활동이 정보시스템 개발 프로젝트의 성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대해 실증 연구를 함으로서 정보시스템 개발 프로젝트의 발주자들로 하여금 프로젝트에 있어 범위관리의 각각의 활동들에 대한 중요도를 인식시켜 프로젝트 범위관리 활동에 대한 적극적인 참여와 관심을 고취시키는데 그 의의가 있다.

  • In the system integration (SI) industry, improving relationships with outsourcing partners is one of the key challenges faced by SI companies that aim to increase productivity and reduce costs. In the SI industry, over 80% of project development work is performed by these outsourcing partners. Hence, large SI companies focus on fostering high-performing partners through improved cooperation and mutual relations. However, in the SI industry the existing process of managing outsourcing partners is unable to advance to the level of long-term partnerships due to inadequate information sharing and communication in the process of selecting and assessing a potential and existing partner. Based on the theory of partnership, this study identifies the success factors for new strategic partnerships. Further, this study presents a model for assessing partner companies to promote increased productivity and improve the relationship between an SI company and its partner. In addition, this model is used to assess partner relationships for a well-known SI company "A". This study explores the feasibility of a new framework model.

  • Confronted with serious problems in nurturing IT engineers such as a mismatch in supply and demand of IT workers, shortage of globally competitive IT professionals, and insufficient education and training of university graduates, the Ministry of Information and Communication has decided to adopt a new approach in national IT engineering education, based on supply chain management (SCM) in manufacturing. SCM weighs improving competitiveness of the supply chain as a whole via a long-term commitment to supply chain relationships and a cooperative, integrated approach to business processes. These benefits of SCM are believed to provide useful insight into a more effective IT education and industry orientation. On the basis of the SCM literature, a framework for industry-oriented practical IT higher education is designed, and then applied in the field of computer-software engineering in Korea.

The Effects of Retailer's Cheong on the Relationship Quality and Performance in Relational Exchange: An Integrating Model Approach (관계적 거래에서 소매상의 정(情)이 관계의 질과 관계성과에 미치는 영향: 통합적 접근)

  • In this study, we examined distribution channel relationship by using the idea of Cheong, which is a unique feeling an positive role in Korean society. Companies make great efforts to maintain long-term relationship with buyers. Understanding distinctive relationship system of each culture should precede these efforts to bring effective results. So we considered how Cheong, a meaningful factor in Korean distribution channel, affects relationship quality and performance. As a result of research analysis from 272 survey questionnaires of retailers, engaging in Crops Protected Material industry in Korea, supplier's idiosyncratic investment, retailer's Cheong, and dependence of retailers on suppliers have positive effects on relationship quality. Supplier's idiosyncratic investment and cognitive factors have the highest influence and Cheong, an emotional factor, follows. Dependence, a motivational factor has the least influence. We confirmed that retailer's cooperation and long-term orientation are directly influenced by retailer's commitment. Active cooperation of the retailer, a partner of a distribution channel, is regarded as an essential factor for supplier's effective business. Retailer's commitment increased that cooperation. Retailer's trust and commitment also decreased relationship conflicts. The results of this study imply that companies should increase idiosyncratic investment to improve relationship quality. But increasing idiosyncratic investment is limited because it requires monetary investment. Therefore companies need to recognize the importance of Cheong, revealed as a new factor, improving relationship quality and to make the best use of it. In this study, we contributed theoretically by examining the role of Cheong, and introducing its distribution discipline. We also make practical suggestions about supplier's relationship management.

The Effects of Environmental Dynamism on the Dissolution Intention (환경의 동태성이 관계해지의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study has investigated the mediating effects of dependence, goal incongruence, and conflict in processing of environmental dynamism effects on the dissolution intention in the discount store industry. As the result of hypotheses test using data collected from 180 supplier samples, environmental dynamism has the positive effects on dependence, goal incongruence, and conflict. Goal incongruence has the positive effect on conflict. Goal incongruence and conflict has the positive effects on dissolution intention. But, dependence didn't decrease dissolution intention significantly. Finally, the authors discussed the theoretical contributions, managerial implications, and limitations of this study and presented the future research directions.

  • Since 2002, Korea Government has introduced Green Standard for Energy and Environmental Design Certification for reducing GHG emission in building area. However, total number of G-SEED Certification is only around 1% of total number of approved apartment buildings despite the various boosting policies. In this situation, most boosting policies and policy improvement researches are leaning toward the supplier's aspect. However, comprehensive relation and dynamics between consumer and supplier has to be considered because housing market is operated by market participants' mutual interaction. Therefore, this research presents system dynamics models based on decision making analysis of consumer and supplier in G-SEED Certification apartment building market. Then, this research evaluate the validity of boosting policies using the model. The proposed analysis can assist government to make next G-SEED Certification boosting policy.

  • Recently, most firms have difficulties in predicting business context due to uncontrollable factors such as natural disasters, terrorism, social and political interests, as well as market factors such as rapid technological change, diversification of customer needs, and intensification of competition with competitors, thereby increasing the importance of risk management. The purpose of this study is to analyze trends of the risk management field concentrating on SCM, which is increasingly interested, and to identify key researches in this field and provide useful academic information. This study collected the information of the articles published in journals using the Scopus database, and analyzed both the network generated by keywords proposed in the articles and the network generated by the information for citations and co-authorship.

Analysis on value research trend and building the resource and competence based research framework for value creation (가치 연구의 동향 분석 및 가치창출에 대한 자원 및 역량기반 연구체계 구축)

  • A value creation is understood as important business strategy these days in both academics and industry. But this phenomenon is not fully understood based on systematized framework. In this paper, we summarized value research trend based on exploratory research and inductive reasoning by exploring both international and domestic journals. And we built a research framework that can analyze value creation between supplier and customer. Value research prior to 2004 is primarily divided into values of goods or services and relationship values. After 2004, service-dominant (SD) logic has been outlined. There are other research trends to see the relationship value in terms of relationship benefits and relationship in the network or supply chain. 4 critical resource types (financial resource, knowledge resource, efficiency resource, and intellectual resource) and 5 competence types (relational capability, collaboration capability, innovation capability, managing capability) are constructed as principal factors for value creation from inductive reasoning based upon a resource-based view (RBV) and a competence-based view (CBV). The research framework was built based on 4 resources and 4 competences.
