(Research background and purpose) Urban development has also had a significant impact on the eco-friendly industry. In the public environment, citizens are stressed in many areas, which has really made them need a natural ecological environment. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the environment into an eco-friendly urban public facility that breathes the urban environment space inside the building with plants. To this end, we want to show that the urban environment can be improved through vertical gardens. And through this, we want to contribute to the popularization of vertical gardens. (Research Methodology) we will analyze the problems of the current public environment in the city and look at the supplementation around vertical gardens. (Result) A study of the public environment in the city found problems such as gloomy environment, poor use of space, dim color, and poor air quality, and wanted to create a vertical garden to provide a pleasant shelter. These vertical gardens have influenced urban public places with improved aesthetics, increased social value, insulation and soundproofing effects of buildings, reduced urban heat island effects, and increased urban green appearance. (Conclusion)This study uses vertical gardens in public spaces to design public spaces that are more comfortable and share mental and physical health together.

This research considered the city design and public arts theory. As a result, planning ability lacks in the existing mural arts. It were discovered to not coincide with the demands of time. This research attempted practical approach by expanding to public spaces rather than being limited to artistic section. For one of the case, the mural of Jurye Girl's Middle School located in Busan was selected. As a result, the mural that included culture discovered that mural matches well with city's public environment. We conducted survey. 107 participants was randomly selected as students and neighbors in Jure girl's middle school. The results of it reveals that environmentally friendly tendency and cultural implication are relatively higher than others. Mural arts have been focused as space where people live along with the progress of civilization and development of our society. It is important how the relationship between modern public environment space and mural arts shall harmonize. This research proposes social values that can replace the special mood by adding vitalization and liveliness to public environment through various mural contents.

This study explores the concepts and programs of 'makerspaces' at public libraries. It examines the extended and sustainable service outreach strategies of 14 Korean public libraries whose makerspaces were identified as "infinite imagination spaces." Through interviews with staff members, the study identifies the needs, effects, limitations, and future direction of makerspaces. The study also evaluates the development, types, funding sources, and outcomes of makerspaces in public libraries through related literature reviews and case studies. The study's findings suggest that strategies with stable and varied funding, staffing, and training are crucial to fostering makerspaces that not only become communal gathering spots, but also become gateways to technological tinkering that 'make' spaces for community archives.

The pandemic over the past three years has brought drastic changes in our lives, and those changes are now becoming a natural part of our daily lives. Daily life and economic activities based on online, such as video conferencing, remote classes, telecommuting, and online streaming services, have become daily routines after Corona. And the result of rapid development of communication and graphic technology is the metaverse. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to study the possibility from the perspective of public design for the correct use of the metaverse space of local governments. To this end, in this study, big data analysis was performed on 'local government', 'public design', and 'metaverse'. As a result of this study, we should actively use metaverse with high topic and potential as a space for local governments' promotion or discussion as a means to restore the reliability of local governments and overcome negative perceptions. In addition, it is necessary to actively reflect public design in order to increase the public reliability of local governments' metaverse.

Recently, public libraries as complex cultural spaces are becoming a trend, and public libraries as complex facilities that are built in one building or one site are being highlighted. This can be seen as part of a policy to expand public libraries as part of the government's Living SOC project. The establishment of libraries in government office is also included in this movement. Therefore, this study presented excellent cases by investigating the current state of government office in Korea and investigated citizens' perception on the establishment of public libraries in Busan Metropolitan City Hall. Based on this, a basic plan for the operation of public libraries in Busan Metropolitan City Hall, including basic directions, organization and manpower, collection development, and service programs (including specialization program), was proposed.

This study investigated the relationship among type of museum space, number of visitors, and number of collections. Museum space has been sorted in various ways(e. g. Seo, 2008; Lee, 2008; Ambrose & Paine, 2012), but this study adopted Lord et al. (2012)'s typology, which has public/non-public and collection/non-collection space, considering that Korean museums' space fits their typology. Using 853 museum data our regression analyses show that public-collection space is positively related to the number of visitors is bigger, while non-public-collection space is positively related to the number of collections. This study has academic and practical implications by showing there are differential relationship among those physical museum characteristics and museum performance.

Interactive media are applied to inner and outer space of small public space to enhance for the interaction between the spectator and works, also widely used in the exterior wall by LED and projector for advertisement. In the other hand, case studies of interactive media for large space have not less accomplished than those of buildings and public spaces. Thus, these studies analyzed 11 large structure examples by display, content, interface, and technology device by comparison of those cases of ordinary building public space. First interactive media for large space are found to be contents(39%), and next one is play(27%), advertisement(17%) and message(17%).

This study aims to offer fundamental design strategies for concerning public·service space in museums through comparative analysis between korean and foreign museums. In so doing, it deals with the spatial configuration of public·service space. It suggests that the careful consideration about the public·service space should be taken in order to make the museum public in real sense. Some design strategies suggested in this study can be used as fundamental data for a public museum design, in particular at the early stage of the design process.

도시에는 다양한 종류의 기반시설들이 있고 이들은 계획방법에 따라 건축적으로 활용될 수 있는 가능성도 충분히 가지고 있다. 기반시설의 건축적 활용은 가용지가 부족한 도시에서 유휴공간으로 방치될 수 있는 도시 내 잃어버린 공간을 재생시킨다는 의미도 가지며 공공시설의 통합디자인이라는 측면에서도 중요하다. 본 연구는 이 점에 주목하여 도시 내 기반시설 중 교통관련 시설인 교량, 도로, 교통섬 등을 활용하여 공공공간을 계획한 사례들을 중심으로 계획특성을 고찰하고 시사점을 도출하였다.

Based on the 'Government 3.0', the government opens the public data and encourages the active use in the private sector. Recently, the spatial and statistical information that is one of the public data is being widely used in the various web business as a high value-added information. In this study, we propose an architecture of high-availability, high-reliability and high-performance open platform which can provide a variety of services such as searching, analysis, data mining, and thematic mapping. In particular, we present two different system architectures for the government and the public services, by reflecting the importance of the information security and the respective utilization in the private and public sectors. We also compared a variety of server architecture configurations such as a clustered server configuration, a cloud-based virtual server configuration, and a CDN server configuration, in order to design a cost- and performance-effective spatial-statistical information open platform.
