It is the purpose of this study to propose improvement options and guidance methods for public design around elementary schools from the perspective of child friendly cities. The study first takes the Convention on the Rights of the Child as a benchmark, and integrates relevant United Nations documents on child friendly cities and those on child friendly cities in Shenzhen to derive five principles of public design around child friendly schools, namely, safe environment, protective measures, pedestrian friendly environment, independent environment for going out, convenient and fun environment. Subsequently, this study investigates the public design of 25 elementary schools in Futian District, Shenzhen, China, evaluates the quality level of public design according to the five principles, and points out the problems that exist in public design with lower quality level. Furthermore, in response to the existing problems of public design around elementary schools in Shenzhen, this study improves them from three aspects: public space, public facilities and public media design. More importantly, the design reinforces the safety and child protection of the environment, facilitates children's walking and independent going out, and provides a convenient and fun design that meets the physical and psychological needs of children, designed to be child-friendly. Not only does this design provide guidance for the construction of the environment around the elementary school in Shenzhen, but also provides guidelines for the construction of a child-friendly city in Shenzhen.

In order to achieve carbon neutrality, it is necessary to commercialize and popularize carbon dioxide capture technology, so the purpose of this study is to put forward the design of public facilities suitable for public environment. In the design direction of public facilities for carbon capture and environmental purification, the application of carbon capture technology in air, the application of carbon capture and adsorption materials, and carbon reduction recycling are selected for development. In order to achieve carbon neutrality, this study develops a new concept of public facility design which is different from the existing public facilities in public space. From this point of view, it has great enlightenment significance. Public facilities adopting carbon-neutral technology are environmentally friendly public facilities that conform to the times, and can be installed in parks, roads and other spaces. With the rest of citizens and the role of communities, it is expected to contribute to popularization and activation.

오늘날 산업이 제품 중심에서 서비스 중심으로 빠르게 전환되고 있는 가운데 디자인의 방향도 이런 흐름에 맞춰 변모하고 있다. 최근 서비스디자인이 이런 변화에 따라 다양한 분야에서 각광 받고 있다. 특히 서비스디자인은 공공분야를 중심으로 사건 전반의 문제를 디자인적 관점으로 바라보고 더 높은 가치를 창출하기 위해 개선을 시도한다는데 의미가 있다. 지역의 공원시설 등 공공환경 또한 서비스디자인의 과제로 주목받고 있는데 이런 활동은 다양한 지역사회 경쟁력을 제고시키고 이용객의 만족도를 높일 수 있는 가능성을 지니며 나아가, 서비스디자인을 통해 지역 공공환경을 위한 콘텐츠의 확장을 도모한다는데 의미가 있다. 콘텐츠의 확장을 통해 구성원과 방문객의 만족을 높이기 위해서는 기존의 환경에 특색 있는 서비스를 더한 새로운 콘텐츠들을 개발해야 하며 이러한 서비스디자인 활동을 통해 지역사회에 디자인이 공헌할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구는 대전계룡산국립공원의 수통골지역 방문객을 위한 서비스디자인프로젝트의 선행연구로 수행 되었다.

The age and physical condition of users who use public libraries are becoming diverse in recent years. The need for universal design is recognized as important to create a public library with a convenient and pleasant environment in consideration of various users. The purpose of this research is to propose the universal design application method after analyzing level of application of common spaces in public libraries. First, the environment related to 'Perceptable Information' with low level of universal design should be improved first. Second, it is important to apply it from the initial planning phase to create a more advanced universal design environment. Third, careful consideration and awareness of all users of the library should precede to engance 'Flexibility in Use' related environment.

As the cultural importance of local environment has been increasing, interests of local residents for city design has also increased. City design can inspire local residents' pride and redefine the city image to both local and outside world. Therefore, this study analyzes the city's(Pohang city) status, environmental characteristics, and local residents' design image preference; and based on the analysis, this study suggests standard design for public facilities that constitute "streets", that can realize the city image identity. For the suggestion, scenery image and public facilities status of the twenty-four areas in the city were analyzed. Also, to decide the design direction of public facilities that can constitute the city's consistent ideology, thoughts, and image, design preference factors for public facilities by local residents were surveyed and analyzed. The design guidelines and a standard design were established for total of thirty-one public facilities based on the analysis. The outcome will enable provision of communication media to express the charming city image and also of material that can be reflected in the integrated city scenery project in the future.

The recent diversification of society surrounding libraries is influencing the services of libraries. This study suggested the directions of public library services from the aspect of the universal design based on the analysis of related systems and cases to provide all users with universal services in accord with the nature of public libraries amid rapidly changing social environment. This study suggests four directions: the "universal design" which is the keyword for pursuing universality of public library services; the pursuit of economic value of public library services based on the universal design; the universal design for the improvement of perception of public library services; change in policies and systems related to public library services through the application of the universal design.

This research considered the city design and public arts theory. As a result, planning ability lacks in the existing mural arts. It were discovered to not coincide with the demands of time. This research attempted practical approach by expanding to public spaces rather than being limited to artistic section. For one of the case, the mural of Jurye Girl's Middle School located in Busan was selected. As a result, the mural that included culture discovered that mural matches well with city's public environment. We conducted survey. 107 participants was randomly selected as students and neighbors in Jure girl's middle school. The results of it reveals that environmentally friendly tendency and cultural implication are relatively higher than others. Mural arts have been focused as space where people live along with the progress of civilization and development of our society. It is important how the relationship between modern public environment space and mural arts shall harmonize. This research proposes social values that can replace the special mood by adding vitalization and liveliness to public environment through various mural contents.

In the modern society, people live in an environment while sharing a space with each other and secure their own space for the safety. As interest in "Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)" securing the safety of citizens from crime through environmental design is increasing, this research studies the public space design realized in public environments which is explored through the understanding of the concept of public design. Through the various case studies conducted with the concept and cases of public design, a standard for proceeding with crime prevention design has been established. The research analyzes the results of successful cases with ten extracted keywords, and finally three design solutions for crime prevention were proposed through extracted keywords. Each design solution was evaluated by 25 CPTED researchers who participated in this project with Likert's 5-point scale. Based on final evaluation results, the research will further investigate better and safe approaches and solutions for CPTED.

본 논문은 열악한 환경의 중소기업들이 제품개발에 있어서 쉽게 접근, 활용할 수 있는 중소기업 기술지원 서비스로써 소셜매뉴팩처링플랫폼 구축을 위한 공공 서비스디자인에 관한 내용이다. 중소기업들이 안심하고 편리하게 구축된 각종 인프라들을 활용하여 글로벌 시장을 선도할 수 있는 혁신제품을 개발할 수 있는 환경을 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 특히, 중소기업이 가장 어려워하는 부분인 상용화 아이템 발굴, 제품디자인 및 시제품제작, 시험 검증 등을 지원하는 크라우드소싱 기반의 소셜매뉴팩처링플랫폼 등을 활용한 토털솔루션으로 기업기술지원용 공공 서비스 디자인 모델을 제시한다. 본 논문은 고객의 관점에서 사용자 친화적인 경쟁력을 갖도록 고객의 요구사항이나 행동패턴을 관찰, 분석하여 미래에 일어날 수 있는 서비스 형태와 기능을 디자인하여 고객 및 제공자에게 효율적이고 매력적인 서비스를 제공하도록 하였다.

The purpose of this research aims to retrieve the communication which is the essential publicness in the built environment design and the self-management which is the original value in terms of sociology. To examine this, the way in which the characters of the design of the publicness have been changed will be concentrated on in the public area since 1980s, Particularly, this research has been focused on the Second modernity design which is against the aggressive utopia - oriented modernization and Reflexive Modernization which has been mentioned by Anthony Giddens, Ulich Beck, and especially Scott Lash. Also, to understand Reflexive Modernization, the realism art in the view point of the objective recognition of modernity and identity emphasized by Scott Lash will be examined. Through the analysis of the Nene Sachlichkeit which is a part of the realism art, how the reflection of the design can be the function of the design will be addressed and some examples will be analyzed in terms of communications and self-education in the design of the publicness. Thus, Contemporary Built Environment Design features are categorized into universality, objectivity, and rationality; it reaches that the past Neue Sachlichkeit meets the spirit of art; it concludes that the efforts of the reflection of the modernity, intensity and development in design are the challenges for the purpose of the design of the publicness.
