  • Ransomware is a malicious program code evolved into various forms of attack. Unlike traditional Ransomware that is being spread out using email attachments or infected websites, a new type of Ransomware, such as WannaCryptor, may corrupt files just for being connected to the Internet. Due to global Ransomware damage, there are many studies conducted to detect and defense Ransomware. However, existing research on Ransomware detection only uses Ransomware signature database or monitors specific behavior of process. Additionally, existing Ransomware detection methods hardly detect and defense a new Ransomware that behaves differently from the traditional ones. In this paper, we propose a method to detect Ransomware by arranging decoy files and analyzing the method how Ransomware accesses and operates files in the file system. Also, we conduct experiments using proposed method and provide the results of detection and defense of Ransomware in this paper.

  • Security threats through e-mail service, a representative tool to convey information on the internet, are on the sharp rise. The security threats are made in the path where malicious codes are inserted into documents files attached and infect users' systems by taking advantage of the weak points of relevant application programs. Therefore, to block infection of camouflaged malicious codes in the course of file transfer, this work proposed an integrity-checking and behavior-based detection system using File Transfer System (FTS), logical network partition, and conducted a comparison analysis with the conventional security techniques.

  • Today, it is an information society where a large number of users access and view important data in a large number of information assets as needed. In this complexity, techniques related Identify Management are being applied, in order to verify authorized user access to important information assets and manage of history. But, the ability access to sensitive information using account has the disadvantage of being able to open the way for information to the attacker when it is hijacked. Thus, in this paper, we propose a secure Identify Management System that can control the use of accounts based on the attitude of the account holder, but also enhances the security and does not hinder the convenience.

  • This paper studied the detection technique using file DNA-based behavior pattern analysis in order to minimize damage to user system by malicious programs before signature or security patch is released. The file DNA-based detection technique was applied to defend against zero day attack and to minimize false detection, by remedying weaknesses of the conventional network-based packet detection technique and process-based detection technique. For the file DNA-based detection technique, abnormal behaviors of malware were splitted into network-related behaviors and process-related behaviors. This technique was employed to check and block crucial behaviors of process and network behaviors operating in user system, according to the fixed conditions, to analyze the similarity of behavior patterns of malware, based on the file DNA which process behaviors and network behaviors are mixed, and to deal with it rapidly through hazard warning and cut-off.

  • This paper shall suggest the improvement model for invigorating cyber threat information sharing from the national level, which includes, inter alia, a comprehensive solutions such as the legislation of a guideline for information sharing, the establishment of so-called National Center for Information Sharing, the construction and management of a integrated information system, the development of techniques for automatizing all the processes for gathering, analyzing and delivering cyber threat information, and the constitution of a private and public joint committee for sharing information, so much so that it intends to prevent cyber security threat to occur in advance or to refrain damage from being proliferated even after the occurrence of incidents.

  • The recent trends in malwares show the most widely used for the distribution of malwares that the targeted computer is infected while the user is accessing to the website, without being aware of the fact that, in which the harmful codes are concealed. In this thesis, we propose a new malicious web page detection system based on a real time analysis of normal/abnormal behaviors in client-side. By means of this new approach, it is not only the limitation of conventional methods can be overcome, but also the risk of infection from malwares is mitigated.

  • This paper proposes the multimedia fingerprinting code insertion algorithm when video content is distributed in P2P environment, and designs the collusion codebook SRP(Small RISC Processor) embedded system for the collusion attack prevention. In the implemented system, it is detecting the fingerprinting code inserted in the video content of the client user in which it requests an upload to the web server and in which if it is certified content then transmitted to the streaming server then the implemented system allowed to distribute in P2P network. On the contrary, if it detects the collusion code, than the implemented system blocks to transmit the video content to the streaming server and discontinues to distribute in P2P network. And also it traces the colluders who generate the collusion code and participates in the collusion attack. The collusion code of the averaging attack is generated with 10% of BIBD code v. Based on the generated collusion code, the codebook is designed. As a result, when the insert quantity of the fingerprinting code is 0.15% upper in bitplane 0~3 of the Y(luminance) element of I-frame at the video compression of ASF for a streaming service and MP4 for an offline offer of video content, the correlation coefficient of the inserted original code and the detected code is above 0.15. At the correlation coefficient is above 0.1 then the detection ratio of the collusion code is 38%, and is above 0.2 then the trace ratio of the colluder is 20%.

  • With the convergence of communications network between control system and public network, such threats like information leakage/falsification could be fully shown in control system through diverse routes. Due to the recent diversification of security issues and violation cases of new attack techniques, the security system based on the information database that simply blocks and identifies, is not good enough to cope with the new types of threat. The current control system operates its security system focusing on the outside threats to the inside, and it is insufficient to detect the security threats by insiders with the authority of security access. Thus, this study conducted the importance analysis based on the main event log list of "Spotting the Adversary with Windows Event Log Monitoring" announced by NSA. In the results, the matter of importance of event log for the detection of insider threats to control system was understood, and the results of this study could be contributing to researches in this area.

  • The construction of Internet IP-based Network is composed of router and switch models in a variety of companies. The construction by various models causes the complexity of the management and control as different types of CLI is used by different company to filter out abnormal traffics like worm, virus, and DDoS. To improve this situation, IETF is working on enacting XML based configuration standards from NETCONF working group, but currently few commands processing at the level of operation layer on NETCONF are only standardized and it's hard for unified control operation process between different make of system as different company has different XML command to filter out abnormal traffics. This thesis proposes ways to prevent abnormal attacks and increase efficiency of network by re-routing the abnormal traffics coming thru unified control for different make of systems into Sinkhole router and designing a control system to efficiently prevent various attacks after checking the possibility of including abnormal traffics from unified control operation.
