Recently, CSB(Cable-Stayed Bridge) have been attempted to be atypical forms for landscape elements in Korea. CSB with new geometry need to analyze their characteristics clearly to ensure structural safety. This study's bridge is the S-shaped curved pedestrian CSB that has a girder with S-shape plane curve and reverse triangular truss cross section, inclined independent pylon, modified Fan type main cable and vertical backstay cable. Curved CSB can have excessive lateral displacement and moment when the tension is adjusted, focusing only on longitudinal behavior, such as a straight CSB. In order to analyze the effect of the cable on the lateral behavior of bridges, the cable is divided into two groups according to the lateral displacement direction of the pylon due to tension. The influence of the combination ratio of GR1 and GR2 on the girder, bearing, pylon, and vertical anchor cable was analyzed. When the tension applied to the bridge is 1.0GR1 plus 1.0GR2, In the combination of 1.2GR1 plus 0.8GR2, the stress on the left and right upper member of the truss girder and the deviation of the both were minimized. In addition, the horizontal force of the bearing, the lateral displacement and moment of the pylon, and the tension of the vertical backstay cable also decreased. This study is expected to be used as basic data for determination of tension of CSB with similar geometry.
Coating is one of the methods used to solve the problem of corrosion of reinforcement in concrete structures. There are few research reported in the literature regarding the effect of zinc-coating on flexural behavior compared to epoxy coating. The objective of this study was to determine whether zinc-coated rebar adversely affects flexural behavior. Concrete beams reinforced with black or zinc-coated steel were tested in flexure. The test variables included the presence of rebar surface coating with zinc, steel ratio used and cover depth. The study concentrated on comparing crack pattern, crack width, deflection and strain. The ultimate flexural capacity of beams reinforced with zinc-coated bars was not different from that of black steel reinforced beams. The results from deflection and crack width measurements were indicative of no significant variation for the different rebar surface conditions. In addition, it was found that load-strain curve of beam reinforced with zinc-coated steel was similar to that of beam reinforced with zinc-coated steel. Therefore, the test results indicated that the use of zinc-coated rebar had no adverse effect on flexural behavior compared to the use of black rebar.
When the columns of existing RC structures are repaired with FRP composites, the core concrete of the columns is confined by both materials of steel spirals (or steel hoops) and FRP composites because the FRP composites wrap the existing columns which have been already confined with steel spirals or hoops. As the stress-strain curves of steel and fiber are different to each other, the behavior of concrete columns confined with both steel spiral and FRP composites is also different to that of concrete columns confined with only steel spiral or FRP composites. Twenty four RC cylinders were tested in order to observe the behavior of RC cylinders confined with both materials. The observed results of the test showed that the behavior of the test cylinders confined with both materials was quite different to that of cylinders confined with only one material.

The dynamic strain-time(${\varepsilon}$-t) curves of the fatal members in three existing steel railway bridges was measured during the selected trains was passing, and was regulated statistically. By the results of these the equivalent fatigue damages of the selected members was calculated in comparison with the allowable stresses, and was examined. From these the base available in evaluating the stability and the lifeproof of the steel railway bridge was obtained. In addition to this, the following several properties which could be used availably in designing the steel railway bridges. It was conformed that the fatigue damages was different each other even in the same members, if the unit weight of the trains was same but the weights and the dispositions of the wheels of the trains was different each other. It was indicated that the fatigue damages was larger in the members which had the defects in components of the materials, the flaws being made during producing and constructing, and the corrosions, etc. It was considered that more a vailable data could be obtained, if the same studies were continued under the spans and the types of the bridges being changed continuously.
This study evaluated spalling and internal temperature distribution after elevated temperatures test for high strength concrete ($f_{ck}=60\;MPa$) column member with various polypropylene fiber volume fractions. The ISO-834 time-temperature curve was used for measurement of fire resistance properties. As the result of test, average internal temperature results indicated to low temperature in increased polypropylene fiber volume fraction. But, the highest internal temperature results show that does not difference in proportion of polypropylene fiber volume fractions.

The destructive method is reliable and widely used for the estimation of material degradation but, it have time-consuming and a great difficulty in preparing specimens from in-service industrial facilities. Therefore, the estimation of degraded structural materials by nondestructive evaluation is strongly desired. In this paper, the use of guided wave was suggested for the evaluation on thermally damaged 2.25Cr-1Mo steel as an alternative way to compensate for limitations of fracture tests. The observation of microstructure variations of the material including carbide precipitation increase and spheroidization near grain boundary was conducted and the correlation with the guided wave features such as energy loss ration and group velocity changes was investigated. Through this study, the feasibility of ultrasonic guided wave evaluation for thermally damaged materials was explored.

Spatial structure is an appropriate shape that resists external force only with in-plane forte by reducing the influence of bending moment, and it maximizes the effectiveness of structure system. the spatial structure should be analyzed by nonlinear analysis regardless static and dynamic analysis because it accompanys large deflection for member. To analyze the spatial structure geometrical and material nonlinearity should be considered in the analysis. In this paper, a geometrically nonlinear finite element model for plane truss structures is developed, and material nonlinearity is also included in the analysis. Arc-length method is used to solve the nonlinear finite element model. It is found that the present analysis predicts accurate nonlinear behavior of plane truss.

IPM bridge was developed to revise the problems of IAB bridge by Nam et al, (2016). This research conducted the p-y analysis to examine the parameter traits among the protruded length (H), penetrated length (L) of pile bent and soil conditions. From the results, the maximum bending moment happened in the top segment of pile bent, because it is integrated to the upper structure. Also, the maximum shear force was shown in the boundary of the sand and weathered soil zones according to the analysis soil conditions. The maximum member force and unbraced length is converged when the ratio (L/H) of protruded length (H) and penetrated length (L) is 1.0. The larger material force is happened, if the pile bent is penetrated shallowly compared to the protruded length. The definite inflection points were shown in the horizontal displacement curve from the p-y analysis, also the smaller penetrated length made the curve grade slower.

In this paper, a modification coefficient for equivalent single degree of freedom (SDOF), considering the plasticity range of the member subjected to shock wave type of blast load, was developed. The modification coefficient for the equivalent SDOF was determined through comparison with the analysis of a multi-degree of freedom (MDOF) system. The parameters influencing the equivalent SDOF system analysis were chosen as the boundary conditions of the member and the ratio of the duration of blast load to the natural period of the member. The modification coefficient was calculated based on the elastic load-mass transformation factor. The modification coefficient curve was derived using an elliptical equation to ensure it exists between the upper and lower parameter bounds. Using the modification coefficient on examples with varying cross sections and boundary conditions reduced the SDOF analysis error rate from 15% to 3%. This study shows that using the modification coefficient significantly improves the accuracy of SDOF analysis. The modification coefficient proposed in this study can be used for blast analysis.

All ships should ensure stability in accordance with IMO regulations. However, GM is only used to determine ship stability because it takes a lot of time to validate all regulations. This is a problem given that the safety of vessels cannot be guaranteed, potentially leading to accidents. There is a need for a more intuitive and comprehensive method of confirming the stability of ships. This study developed a stability index that expresses ship stability in one value. An index equation is defined based on the 6 stability criteria for ships prescribed by IMO and the result of calculating the ship stability of a model ship. A stability index has been derived for each loading condition by applying the index equation to the same ship. It can clearly be seen that this stability index appropriately explains the criteria. In other words, it is possible to assess ship stability with one value and confirm whether the ship stability satisfies IMO regulations. This index will help masters and officers more easily and accurately check ship stability.
