  • 본 논문에서는 비대칭적 화질을 갖는 양안식 3DTV 시스템에서 좌우영상간의 화질차이가 크게 발생하는 경우, 열화된 우영상의 화질을 보상하기위한 부가정보로 양안시차 벡터맵을 사용하는데, 이때 넓은 대역폭을 갖는 부가정보를 효율적으로 부호화하여 전송하기위한 방법을 제안한다. 공간적인 중복성을 피하기 위해 쿼드트리 분해방식을 적용하였고, 양안시차 벡터의 시간적 중복성을 고려하여 부호화 효율을 높였다. 제안된 압축 알고리듬인 가변블록 부호화 방안을 적용한 복원영상은 비슷한 전송률을 갖는 고정블록 복원영상에 비해 개선된 PSNR을 가짐을 실험을 통해 확인하였다.

  • A crossword puzzle is one of the popular word games around the world in which you work out the answers and write them in the white squares of a pattern of small black and white squares. As the technology of computers develops, some people worked about making and solving crossword puzzle games, which led them to a commercial use. However, almost all of these commercial programs are ones where you do ready-made puzzles with a fixed size because it is very difficult to make puzzles in a certain size, picking up some among a great number of words to fit for them. Furthermore, these programs are only for a very few languages, such as English, French, not for Korean. Accordingly, ore took a look at what should be considered to make an automatic puzzle-generating program for Korean, and in this paper we implemented Korizzle, a system making the puzzles automatically. We introduce the algorithm used for Korizzle and evaluate the its performance.

Quality Evaluations of a Citron Bio-Soybean Paste (유자 바이오 된장의 품질평가)

  • Microbiological and sensory evaluations were performed on bio-soybean paste treated with citron and immobilized microorganisms from Bifidobacterium animalis DY 64. Aerobic microorganisms in bio-soybean paste stored at room temperature, initially, significantly increased(p<0.05) during 15 days of storage. However, a subsequent, slight decrease(p<0.05) was observed after 30 days. Food pathogens such as Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli were not detected in the bio-soybean paste throughout the storage days. Bio-soybean paste treated with 3.0${\sim}$7.0% citron combined with 10% immobilized microorganisms increased consumer acceptance relating odor and flavor. In conclusion, soybean paste treated with citron and immobilized microorganisms from Bifidobacterium animalis could be used as a viable health food with respect to enhancing consumer acceptance.

  • IPC girder is more prestressed and has smaller sectional area than the conventional PSC-I type girder due to incremental prestressing along the construction process. The continuous IPC girder bridge may have problems in serviceability and stresses at internal supports because it is very flexible. In this paper, The long-term behavior of the continuous IPC girder bridge is studied through long-term structural analysis and monitoring the deflections. The long-term behavior is monitored right before the introduction of 2nd prestressing that is the construction process different from the conventional PSC-I type girder bridge. The total station of high-precision was used in measuring the deflections. According to the monitoring result so far, the continuous IPC girder bridges does not show remarkable long-term behavior like severe camber or deflection and the measured deflections are very similar to the results of long-term structural analysis.

  • The Internet of Things (IoT) is an infrastructure of physical objects that could be connected to the Internet. Most of these are low performance to ensure a reasonable cost for the smart physical objects. Thus, these devices usually use a lightweight messaging protocol: message queue telemetry transport with SSL/TLS. Cipher suites in device are fixed by default and selected based on preference in SSL/TLS. However, the selected cipher suite provides high security level more than expected. This limitation causes energy waste and overhead of devices. In order to counter this problem, we proposed fuzzy logic based cipher suite decision method to improve energy efficiency. Our proposed method saved 36.03% energy.

  • In this paper, we propose the high efficiency data compression capable of error control using block-sorting, move to front(MTF) and arithmetic code with variable length in to fixed out. First, the substring with is parsed into length N is shifted one by one symbol. The cyclic shifted rows are sorted in lexicographical order. Second, the MTF technique is applied to get the reference of locality in the sorted substring. Then the preprocessed sequence is coded using VF(variable to fixed) arithmetic code which can be limited the error propagation in one codeword. The key point is how to split the fixed length codeword in proportion to symbol probabilities in VF arithmetic code. We develop the new VF arithmetic coding that split completely the codeword set for arbitrary source alphabet. In addition to, an extended representation for symbol probability is designed by using recursive Gray conversion. The performance of proposed method is compared with other well-known source coding methods with respect to entropy, compression ratio and coding times.

  • The technique of submental intubation in patient with multiple facial fracture and skull base fracture was originally described by Altemir. Not only is intermaxillary fixation feasible when using this surgical technique but a good field of vision is acquirable, and postoperative complications due to tracheostomy can be prevented. After Altemir presented submental intubation, many modified techniques were reported, applicable not only to trauma patients but also to elective surgeries such as orthognathic surgery including Lefort II or III osteotomy. This technique is easy to use, rapid and free of complications compared to alternative intubation method especially tracheostomy for multiple facial trauma patients.

  • Studies of elder abuse are increasing in our country since the 1990s. But few studies have researched how older people may perceive and give meaning to the phenomenon of elder abuse. Old people have been alienated from their own problems. Elder abuse was constructed as a social problem by experts, not by older people themselves. The purpose of this study was to explore the older people's perceptions ell the meaning of elder abuse and interventions for it, using a qualitative approach based on the grounded theory. The findings from in-depth interviews with 10 the elderly were as follows: The elderly participated in this study has been constructing the aged as independence, privacy, and carer, which conflicts the existing social construction of the aged. They also had their own definition of elder abuse. They perceived all the psycho-emotional sufferings as major elder abuse. So, they understood that elder abuse was the pervasive problem which everyone would experience. They proposed that desirable interventions for it was to guarantee and to sustain their existing independent living.

Output Characteristics of XeF$(C\rightarrowA$ Laser for the variation of Xe concentration under the pressures of broad region (넓은 범위의 압력에서 Xe 농도 변화에 대한 XeF$(C\rightarrowA$ 레이저의 출력특성)

  • When the broad pressure region (0.5-3.5 atm) of laser media is pumped by 70 ns [FWHM] electronbeam accelerator (800 kV, 21 kA), the correlation between free-runnuing XeF$(C\rightarrowA$ excimer laser output and Xe concentration are studied. The resonator consisted of dichroic output coupler, and the laser output is optimized with laser media $(Xe/F_2/Ar)$ as functions of total pressure and gas mixing ratio. Under the condition of F2 0.46% fixed, the laser intrinsic efficiencies of 0.38%, 1.03%, and 0.29% are obtained at 1. 2, and 3 atm, respectively. So then the peaks of laser intrinsic efficiency occured to the higher Xe concentration with decreasing total gas pressure. By analyzing the kinetics for the $XeF^*(C)$ formation efficiency and XeF$(C\rightarrowA$ laser extraction efficiency the dependence of Xe concentration on their correlation is explained. As the results we propose efficient operation of an atmosphericpressure XeF$(C\rightarrowA$ laser. laser.

Optimization for the Salting Process of Eggplant(Chukyang) for Export Using Response Surface Methodology (수출용 축양품종 가지의 염절임 공정의 최적화)

  • This study was conducted to the optimize salting process of eggplant for development new product and enhancement quality for export. Three variables by five level central composite design and response surface methodology were used to determine optimum conditions for salting time, temperature and salt concentration. Optimization of the process was conducted using the combination of the moisture content, salinity and color of surface and inside of salted eggplant. The regression polynomial model was suitable (P>0.05) by Lack-of-Fit analysis with highly significant. To optimize the process, based on surface response and contour plots, the individual contour plots of the response variables were superimposed. The optimum conditions for this process were 6 days and 15$^{\circ}C$ at 30% concentration under the optimum of restricted variables as moisture content was below 84%, salinity was below 14%, L and b value of surface were 10 to 20 and below 0, L value and b value of inside were 70 to 75 and 16 to 18.
