  • 본 논문은 도로상에 고정된 카메라의 영상에 들어오는 여러 대의 차량을 추적(tracking)하기 위한 시스템에 대하여 연구하고자 한다. 제안된 차량 추적 시스템은 주변 환경 변화에 따른 배경 이미지 처리를 위하여 적응적 배경 모델(Adaptive Background Model)을 이용한 배경 영상과 연속되어 들어오는 입력 영상과의 차 영상을 이용한 차량 추출 부분과 칼만 필터를 이용하여 효과적으로 위치를 추적하기 위한 차량 추적 단계로 나누어 진다.

  • Heavy metal adsorption by microbial cells is an alternative to conventional methods of heavy metal removal and recovery from metal-bearing wastewater The waste Sac-chuomyces cerevisiae is an inexpensive, relatively available source of biomass for heavy metal biosorption. Biosorption was investigated by free and immobilized-S. cerevisiae. The order of biosorption capacity was Pb>Cu>Cd with batch system. The biosorption parameters had been determined for Pb with free , cells according to the Freundlich and Langmuir model. It was found that the data fitted reasonably well to the Freundlich model. The selective uptake of immobilized-S. cerevisiae was observed when all the metal ions were dissolved in a mixed metals solution(Pb, Cu, Cr and Cd). The biosorption of mixed metals solution by immobilized-cell was studied in packed bed reactor. The Pb uptake was Investigated in particular, as it represents one of the most widely distributed heavy metals in water. We also tested the desorption of Pb from immobilized-cell by us- ing HCI, $H_2SO_4$ and EDTA.

  • The foundation of offshore wind energy system is generally assumed to be fixed-ended in system analysis for the convenience of calculation and, correspondingly, it might lead a conservative design. If soil-foundation interaction get involved with the analysis, the system characteristics such as natural frequency, shear force, moment and displacement are expected to differ from those of fixed-ended case. In this study, the analysis have been conducted to identify how the response of offshore wind turbine varies upon considering the foundation flexibility with soil-foundation interaction. The model taking account of the flexibility of foundation was compared with fixed-ended model at the seabed. The flexibilities of foundation were obtained by coupled spring model at the seabed and Winkler Spring Model with soil depth. As a result, the first mode of the whole system with the Winkler Spring Model was decreased relative to that with the fixed-ended model. The results showed that the effect of foundation flexibility should be considered when designing the offshore wind energy system.

Influence of crestal module design on marginal bone stress around dental implant (임플란트 경부 디자인이 변연골 응력에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study was to investigate how the crestal module design could affect the level of marginal bone stress around dental implant. Materials and methods: A submerged implant of 4.1 mm in diameter and 10 mm in length was selected as baseline model (Dentis Co., Daegu,Korea).A total of 5 experimental implants of different crestal modules were designed (Type I model : with microthread at the cervical 3 mm, Type II model : the same thread pattern as Type I but with a trans-gingival module, Type III model: the same thread pattern as the control model but with a trans-gingival module, Type IV model: one piece system with concave transgingival part, Type V model: equipped with beveled platform). Stress analysis was conducted with the use of axisy mmetric finite element modeling scheme. A force of 100 N was applied at 30 degrees from the implant axis. Results: Stress analysis has shown no stress concentration around the marginal bone for the control model. As compared to the control model, the stress levels of 0.2 mm areas away from the recorded implant were slightly lower in Type I and Type IV models, but higher in Type II, Type III and Type V models. As compared to 15.09 MPa around for the control model, the stress levels were 14.78 MPa, 18.39 MPa, 21.11 MPa, 14.63 MPa, 17.88 MPa in the cases of Type I, II, III, IV and V models. Conclusion: From these results, the conclusion was drawn that the microthread and the concavity with either crestal or trans-gingival modules maybe used in standard size dental implants to reduce marginal bone stress.

Height and Labor Market Outcome: Evidence from Panel Data (신장과 노동시장 성과 관계 : 패널 데이터를 이용한 분석)

  • Previous studies show that tall people have better labor market outcomes, but controlling for their abilities reduces the size of height effects. This implies that a failure to properly control for one's ability could overestimate the OLS estimate. This paper contributes to the literature by being the first to control for individual fixed effects (FE) and to examine height effects on the probability of one's attaining a leadership position. The data used are panel data of a cohort obtained during the cohort's middle and high school years. In OLS estimation, this paper finds positive height effects for boys. However, when controlling for individual fixed effects, the estimate is not statistically significant. For girls, the height effects are found on neither OLS nor FE model.

  • 교통신호에서 주로 고려되는 변수는 신호주기(cycle length), 녹색시간(green split), 옵셋(offset)그리고 좌회전 현시순서(left-turn phase sequence)로 구성된다. 기존의 대부분의 연동 모델들은 고정된 주기하에서 평균적인 유입 교통량을 측정한 후, 선형최적화 이론을 적용하여 최적 신호를 산출한다. 그러나 이 방법은 어디까지나 평균적인 데이터에 대해서 계산을 한 것이기 때문에 실시간 최적화를 제공하기가 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 평균 차량 통행량 대신 실시간으로 입력되는 차량 대기행렬, 차량 도착률을 기초로 대기차량을 최소화하는 동적 신호시간 산출 모델을 개발하였다. 본 모델에서는 Peytechew가 제안한 각 진입로에서의 대기 차량 예측 모델을 기초로 하여 다음 주기에서의 차량 대기 행렬을 예측한 후, 선형 최적화 이론을 적용하여 신호시간을 산출한다. 본 모델에서 산출된 신호주기와 녹색시간은 대기차량길이를 최소화하는 신호 시간으로서 교차로간의 연동효과를 고려하여 실시산 교통상황에 따라 주기별로 변화한다. 본 모델은 3개의 교차로로 구성된 네트워크를 대상으로 적용하였다. 실험 네트워크의 주도로 교통량은 부도로의 교통량 보다 많다고 가정하였으며 각 링크사이에서의 차량 진출입은 없다고 보았다.

The Effect of Female Faculties on Female Students' Employment (대학교수의 여성 비율이 여학생의 취업에 미치는 영향)

  • According to the role model effect, gender of faculty plays an important role in students' employment. This paper investigates the effect of female faculties on female college students' employment in Korea. The fixed effect estimation results show that the percentage of female faculty has no statistically significant effect on female students' employment rate, although the 1%p increase of female faculty appears to be related with the employment rate of female students by 0.102%p in estimation using pooled OLS estimation. We have the almost same results even with dividing female students by major fields. These results can be interpreted the students' employment rate may be influenced by many other factors, such as personal characteristics, abilities, and family background besides faculty gender. We find that there is no empirical evidence of statistically significant effect of the faculty gender on the employment rate of female students.

SiGe HBT의 베이스 저항 변수추출 기술

  • 소자의 특성을 정확히 묘사하고 이를 회로설계에 사용하기 위해서는 정확한 모델링과 이에 관련된 모델변수를 정확히 추출하는 것이 중요하다. 특히, 바이폴라 접합 트랜지스터 및 SiGe HBT를 비롯한 이종접합 트랜지스터의 베이스 저항은 베이스 단자로부터 전류가 에미터-베이스의 접합면을 향해 퍼져 들어가기 때문에 이 전류가 겪는 저항 성분(spreading resistance)은 하나의 고정값으로 구할 수가 없으며 전류값에 따라 그 효과가 민감하게 변하게 된다. 이와 같은 이유로 다른 어떠한 모델변수들 보다 베이스 저항 모델변수의 정확한 추출이 매우 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 DC에서 측정된 베이스 저항값을 기본으로 하여 베이스 저항 모델변수들을 정확하고 체계적으로 추출하는 방법에 관하여 논의한다. 본 논문의 베이스 저항 관련 모델변수들의 추출에는 한국전자통신연구원에서 개발한 SiGe HBT 소자를 사용하였으며, 또한 모델 변수 추출은 SILVACO사의 UTMOST III 컴퓨터 프로그램을 이용하였다.

Effects of Socioeconomic Factors and Forest Environments on Demand for Rural Residential Development (농촌 주거지 개발 수요에 대한 사회경제적 요인 및 산림환경의 영향 분석)

  • This study investigates the effects of economic factors and forest environments on rural residential area development in seven north central states of the U.S. by focusing on the relative importance of not only economic factors but also forest environments by forest type as core drivers of residential development. An empirical model of locations and magnitudes of population changes since 1950 in the north central region is first constructed, and then a panel model with fixed effects for counties is used to explain population growth by age group over time at the county level. Then a set of three equations is estimated for three major age groups, and a cross-sectional model is estimated for the last time period that regresses county-level environmental amenity variables on fixed effects coefficients for counties. Finally, an equation explaining changes in rural housing density is estimated. The results imply that immigrant age is a key factor influencing the choice of the place of residence and that the effects of environmental amenity factors on population growth and subsequent housing development in a county vary according to the age group.

On-site Demonstration of Topographic Surveying Techniques at Open-pit Mines using a Fixed-wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (Drone) (고정익 무인항공기(드론)를 이용한 노천광산 지형측량 기술의 현장실증)

  • This study performed an on-site demonstration of the topographic surveying technique at a large-scale open-pit limestone mine in Korea using a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV, Drone, SenseFly eBee). 288 sheets of aerial photos were taken by an automatic flight for 30 minutes under conditions of 300 m altitude and 12 m/s speed. Except for 37 aerial photos in which no keypoint was detected, 251 aerial photos were utilized for data processing including correction and matching, then an orthomosaic image and digital surface model with 7 cm grid spacing could be generated. A comparison of the X, Y, Z-coordinates of 4 ground control points measured by differential global positioning system and those determined by fixed-wing UAV photogrammetry revealed that the root mean squared errors were around 15 cm. Because the fixed-wing UAV has relatively longer flight time and larger coverage area than rotary-wing UAVs, it can be effectively utilized in large-scale open-pit mines as a topographic surveying tool.
