Factors Affecting on the Unemployment Hazard Rate of the People with Disabilities (장애인의 실업탈출 결정요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzed the hazard of unemployment and the influencing factors on the rate. Data came from the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled(PSED), 2010-2012, which is a longitudinal survey for 5,092 disabled people in Korea. For the main purpose of this study, the life-table method was used for describing the patterns of unemployment duration by disabled, and the cox proportional hazard model was used to identify significant factors on the unemployment duration. The results were as follows. First, according to the life table analysis, the unemployment rate to remain until the longest period of unemployment(25month) is 90.5%, and the rate of entry into the labor market was only 9.5%. Overall, the unemployment maintenance rate was high, the unemployment escape rate decreased after 12month. Second, looking at the results from the cox proportional hazards model, the unemployment escape possibility were increased for those who are male, are non-public benefit recipient with disability, have mild disability, and have less discrimination experiences. With these results, disability discrimination act which can reduce the disability discrimination in employment site should be strengthened. Also, the scheme of Nation Basic Protection Program should be modified to attract the employment of recipients with disability. Finally, policy targets having employment escape difficulty, such as women with disability, people with severe disabilities should be departmentalized. And employment service is provided in accord with the individual needs and characteristics.

The Short-Hours Part-Time Jobs in Korea (한국의 초단시간 노동시장 분석)

  • This article is an exploratory study on the recent growth of short-hours part-time work in Korea. The short-hours part-time work has been rapidly growing among low-educated women over sixty, particularly among bereaved or divorced women, contrary to the expectation of the government that encouraged the part-time work by means of work-family balance for working mothers or middle-aged women who experienced career interruption. The short-hours part-time jobs are concentrated in social service industry, mostly elderly care service jobs, and their working conditions are extremely poor, mostly low-wage jobs with no social insurances except for health insurance. In this study, we discuss why the short-hours part-time work has grown so fast in Korea since the mid 2000s. Using various governmental statistics, we examine the effects of the labor demand and supply situations during the time period, the legal context that is related with the exempt clause of the labor law, and the institutional context related with the government's public job creation projects for the elderly. We suggest some public policies needed to slow down the growth of the short-hours part-time jobs and to elevate their working conditions.

  • $Bi_2Te_3$계 열전반도체 재료는 200 ~ 400K 정도의 저온에서 에너지 변환 효율이 가장 높은 재료로서 열전냉각 및 발전재료로 제조볍 및 특성에 관한 많은 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 전자냉각 모듈의 제조에는 P형 및 N형 $Bi_2Te_3$계 단결정이 주로 사용되고 있으나. $Bi_2Te_3$ 단결정은 C축에 수직한 벽개면을 따라 균열이 쉽게 전파하기 때문에 소자 가공사 수윤 저하가 가장 큰 문제점으로 지적되고 있다. 이에 따라 최근 열전재료의 가공방법에 따른 회수율 증가 및 열전특성 향상에 관한 열간압출, 단조와 같은 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구는 가스분사법(gas atomizer)을 이용하여 용질원자 편석의 감소, 고용도의 증가,균일고용체 형성, 결정립미세화 둥 급속응고의 장점을 이용하여 화학적으로 균질한$Bi_2Te_3$계 열전재료 분말을 제조하고, 제조된 분발을 압출가공하여 기계적성질, 소자의 가공성 및 열전 성능 지수율 향상시키는데 연구 목적이 있다. 본 설험에서는 99.9%이상의 고순도 Bi. Te. Se. Sb를 이용하여, 고주파 유도로에서 Ar 분위기로 용융하고, 가스분사법를 이용하여 균질한 $Bi_2Te_3$계 열전재료 분만을 제조하였다. 분말표면의 산화막을 제거하기 위하여 수소분위기에서 환원처리를 행하였고, 된 분말을 Al 캔 주입하여 냉간성형 한 후 진공중에서 압출온도를 변화시켜 열간압출 가공을 행하였다. 압출 온도변화에 따른 압출재의 미세조직 및 열전특성에 중요한 영향을 미치는 C면 배향에 대한 결정방위 해석, 압출재의 압축강도 등을 분석하였으며, 압출온도에 따삼 미세조직 변화와 결정방위의 변화에 따른 열전특성의 관계를 해석하였다성시켰고 이들이 산인 HNO3에서 녹았기 때문이다. 본 연구에서 개발된 새로운 에칭 용액인 90H2O2 - 10HNO3 (vol%)의 에칭 원리가 똑같이 적용 가능한 다른 종류의 초경 합금에서도 사용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.로 판단된다.멸과정은 다음과 같다. 출발물질인 123 분말이 211과 액상으로 분해될 때 산소가스가 배출되며, 이로 인해 액상에서 구형의 기공이 생성된다. 이들 중 일부는 액상으로 채워져 소멸되나, 나머지는 그대로 남는다. 특히, 시편 중앙에 서는 수십-수백 마이크론 크기의 커다란 기공이 다수 관찰된는데, 이는 기공의 합체로 만들어진 것이다. 포정반응 열처리 시 기공 소멸로 만들어진 액상포켓들은 주변 211 입자와 반응하여 123 영역으로 변한다. 이곳은 다른 지역과 비교하여 211 밀도 가 낮기 때문에, 미반응 액상이 남거나 211 밀도가 낮은 123 영역이 된다. 액상으로 채워지지 못한 구형의 기공들 중 다수가 123 결정 내로 포획되며, 그 형상은 액상/ 기공/고상 계면에너지에 의해 결정된다.단의 경우, 파단면이 매끄럽고 파변상의 결정립도 매우 미세하였으며, 산확물 의 용집도 찾아보기 어려웠 나, 접합부 파단의 경우에는 파변의 굴곡이 비교척 심하고 연성 입계파괴의 형태를 보였£며, 결정립도 모채부 파단의 경우에 비해 조대하였다. 조대하였다. 셋째, 주상기간 중 총 에너지 유입률 지수와 $Dst_{min}$ 사이에 높은 상관관계가 확인되었다. 특히 환전류를 구성하는 주요 입자의 에너지 영역(75~l13keV)에서 가장 높은(0.80) 상관계수를 기록했다. 넷째, 회복기 중에 일어나는 입자들의 유입은 자기폭풍의 지속시간을 연장시키는 경향을 보이며 큰 자기폭풍일수록 현저했다. 주상에서 관측된 이러한 특성은 서브스톰 확장기 활동이 자기폭풍의

A Study on the Determinants of Poverty-Exit of the Working Poor with Disabilities (근로빈곤층 장애인가구의 빈곤탈출 분석)

  • This study attempted to empirically investigate the determinants of poverty transition of the working poor with disabilities from a dynamic perspective. Analyses were conducted on the data from Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled(PSED, Year 1-6), included the households with a disabled head of household. The working poor were defined as the household of which income fell below 120% of the absolute poverty line among the households just described. As results, The 6-year mean poverty rate for the working poor with disabilities included in the analysis was 31.4%, approximately three times of the poverty rate of the total population and the working poor with disabilities were found to have greater difficulty with poverty exit once having fell into poverty than all households living in poverty. And it was found that the economic activity factor was the key determinant of in-work poverty. In addition, employment of the working poor with disabilities did not lead straight to poverty exit, and the quality, rather than the status of, employment was the key determinant of poverty exit. The implications of the findings of this study are that it is essential to increase decent jobs, expand the social safety net of the working poor with disabilities and establish poverty reduction measures for each class of the working poor with disabilities to exit from poverty.

The Determinants of New Supply in the Seoul Office Market and their Dynamic Relationship (서울 오피스 신규 공급 결정요인과 동태적 관계분석)

  • The long-term imbalances between supply and demand in office market can weaken urban growth since excessive supply of offices led to office market instability and excessive demand of offices weakens growth of urban industry. Recently, there have been a lot of new large-scale supplies, which increased volatility in Seoul office market. Nevertheless, new supply of Seoul office has not been fully examined. Given this, the focus of this article was on confirming the influences of profitability, replacement cost, and demand on new office supplies in Seoul. In examining those influences, another focus was on their relative influences over time. For these purposes, we analyzed quarterly data of Seoul office market between 2003 and 2015 using a vector error correction model (VECM). As a result, in terms of the influences on the current new supply, the impact of supply before the first quarter was negative, while that of office employment before the first quarter was positive. Also, that of interest rate before the second quarter was positive, while those of cap rate before the first quarter and cap rate before the second quarter were negative. Based on the findings, it is suggested that prediction models on Seoul offices need to be developed considering the influences of profitability, replacement cost, and demand on new office supplies in Seoul.

Development of High Capacity Lithium Ion Battery Anode Material by Controlling Si Particle Size with Dry Milling Process (건식 분쇄 공정으로 Si 입도 제어를 통한 고용량 리튬이온전지 음극 소재의 개발)

  • Currently graphite is used as an anode active material for lithium ion battery. However, since the maximum theoretical capacity of graphite is limited to $372mA\;h\;g^{-1}$, a new anode active material is required for the development of next generation high capacity and high energy density lithium ion battery. The maximum theoretical capacity of Si is $4200mA\;h\;g^{-1}$, which is about 10 times higher than the maximum theoretical capacity of graphite. However, since the volume expansion rate is almost 400%, the irreversible capacity increases as the cycle progresses and the discharge capacity relative to the charge is remarkably reduced. In order to solve these problems, it is possible to control the particle size of the Si anode active material to reduce the mechanical stress and the volume change of the reaction phase, thereby improving the cycle characteristics. Therefore, in order to minimize the decrease of the charge / discharge capacity according to the volume expansion rate of the Si particles, the improvement of the cycle characteristics was carried out by pulverizing Si by a dry method with excellent processing time and cost. In this paper, Si is controlled to nano size using vibrating mill and the physicochemical and electrochemical characteristics of the material are measured according to experimental variables.

Managerial Share Ownership and Capital Structure: Evidence from Panel Data (소유경영자지분율과 자본구조: 외환위기 이후기간 패널자료분석)

  • The agency relationship between managers and shareholders has the potential to influence decision-making in the firm which in turn potentially impacts on firm characteristics such as value and leverage. Using an agency framework, we examine the relation between ownership structure and capital structure during post-IMF period. We used the balanced panel data for 378 korean listed companies during the 1999-2005. The panel data sets consist of time-series observation on each of 378 cross-sectional units. The results indicate a non-linear U-shaped relation between the level of managerial share ownership and leverage with the relation reaching a minimum at 58.48 per cent of management share ownership. As managerial share ownership increase from a low level, managers have incentive to reduce the debt level for decreasing the financial risk, resulting in a lower lever of debt. However, when corporate managers hold a significant proportion of a firm's shares, managers have incentive to increase the debt level for leverage effects, resulting in a higher lever of debt.

Job Instability in the Korean Labor market: Comparison before and after the IMF Economic Crisis (외환위기 전후의 노동시장 불안정성에 대한 연구)

  • This study first attempted to measure the job instability of Korean labor market by exploiting the data sets of 1998 and 1999 Korean Labor Panels. In order to compare the degrees of job instability of Korea with the one of U.S., we followed the same empirical methods used by Jaeger and Stevens(1999), Neumark et al.(1999), Bemhardt et al.(1999) recently published in the Journal of Labor Economics (vol. 17). Our empirical results suggest that the job retention rate of the Korean labor market during the IMF economic crisis was decreased to the level that the U.S. labor market has never experienced during the past two decades. One noticeable point regarding our estimated four year retention rate is that it takes a form of plateau peaked around 9 and 15 tenure year, which is in sharp contrast with the four year retention rate of u.S. showing a monotonically decreasing tendency over tenure periods. The comparison of 2-year retention rates before and after the economic crisis suggests that job stabilities has been conspicuously aggravated especially for cohorts of long tenure, irregular job, old age, service and sales jobs.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the character and condition of Cr in the clinker and thereby contribute to the research for reduction in utilizing Cr in the cement manufacturing process. The concentration of chromium by cement particle size and the distribution of chromium by clinker mineral were measured. Next, correlation was considered between chromium and the soluble components in cement. As a result, in the range that cement particles were 20${\mu}$m or less, highest soluble hexavalent chromium was found. When the concentration of chromium was measured through mineral separation, belite and the interstitial phase were higher in chromium than in alite. soluble hexavalent chromium was contained in domestic cement less than 20ppm, and its conversion ratio was somewhat high as 10 to 40% or so.

Selective Catalytic Oxidation of Ammonia in the Presence of Manganese Catalysts (망간촉매하에서 암모니아의 선택적 산화반응)

  • The selective catalytic oxidation of ammonia was carried out in the presence of natural manganese ore (NMO) and manganese as catalysts using a homemade 1/4" reactor at $10,000hr^{-1}$ of space velocity. The inlet ammonia concentration was maintained at 2,000 ppm, with an air balance. The manganese catalyst resulted in a substantial ammonia conversion, with adsorption activation energies of oxygen and ammonia of 10.5 and 22.7 kcal/mol, respectively. Both $T_{50}$ and $T_{90}$, defined as the temperatures where 50% and 90% of ammonia, respectively, are converted, decreased significantly when alumina-supported manganese catalyst was applied. Increasing the manganese weight percent by 15 wt% increased the lower temperature activity, but 20 wt% of manganese had an adverse effect on the reaction results. An important finding of the study was that the manganese catalyst benefits from a strong sulfur tolerance in the conversion of ammonia to nitrogen.
