Dependence of Nanoparticle and Combustion Characteristics of Gasoline Direct Injection Engines on Coolant Temperature (GDI 엔진의 냉각수온에 따른 연소성능 및 입자상 물질 배출 특성)

  • This paper investigated the combustion and exhaust gas characteristics of gasoline direct injection engines for various cooling water temperature. The engine-out nanoparticle emission number and size distribution were measured by a DMS-500 equipped upstream of the catalyst. A CLD-400 and an HFR-400 were equipped at the exhaust port to analyze the cyclic NOx and total hydrocarbon emission characteristics. The results showed that the nanoparticle emission number greatly increased at low coolant temperatures and that the exhaust mainly contained particulate matter of 5.10 nm. THC also increased under low temperature conditions because of fuel film on the combustion chamber. NOx emissions decreased under high temperature conditions because of the increase in internal exhaust gas recirculation. In conclusion, an engine management system control strategy for driving coolant temperature up rapidly is needed to reduce not only THC and NOx but also nanoparticle emissions.

  • This paper described an 8bit, 100Msample/s CMOS D/A converter using a glich-time minimization technique for the high-speed sampling rate of 100MHz level. The proposed DAC was implemented in 0,35um Hynix CMOS technology and adopts a current mode architecture to optimize sampling rate, resolution, chip area. The DAC linear characteristics was similar to the proposed specification the prototype error between DNL and INL is less than ${\pm}0.09LSB$ respectively. Also, fab-out chip was tested, analysed the cause of error operation, and proposed the field considerations for chip test.

  • This paper was focused on the particulate matter (PM) on the gasoline and bio ethanol. Bio ethanol as a clean fuel is considered one of the alternative fuels that decreased the PM emission from the vehicle. Particle formation in SI engine was depended on the fuel and engine operating condition. In this paper, Particle number concentration behaviors were analyzed by DMS500 (Differential Mobility Spectrometer) and CPC (Condensation Particle Counter) instrument which was recommended by PMP (Particle Measurement Programme). Particle emissions were measured with various engine operating variables such as air excess ratio ($\lambda$), spark timing and intake valve opening (IVO) at part load condition. In vehicle test, the number of particulate matter was analyzed with golden particle measurement system, which was consist of CVS (Constant Volume Sampler), particle number counter and particle number diluter.

시상하부의 심혈관 조절기전: 후시상하부의 세포외액의 monoamine 농도에 대한 전신 혈압변화의 영향

  • 본 연구에서는 생체 뇌 국소부위의 세포외액을 대상으로 실험할 수 있는 뇌 미세투석법을 이용하여 후시상하부에서 유리되는 monoamine의 세포외액 농도에 대한 전신 혈압변화의 영향을 관찰함으로써, 심혈관 조절에 대한 후시상하부의 monoamine성 뉴론의 생리적 역할을 규명하고자 하였다. 마취한 흰쥐의 머리를 뇌정위 고정장치에 고정시키고 미세투석관 (microdialysis probe)을 후시상하부에 위치시킨 후 링거액으로 관류하였다. 미세투석액내에 존재하는 monoamine성 신경 전달물질들과 그 대사체들의 정량분석은 고속액체크로마토그라피와 전기화학검출기를 이용하여 실시하였다. 전신 혈압을 40분 동안 약 40mmHg 상승 혹은 30mmHg 감소시키기 위하여 L-phenylephrine hydrochloride (800ng/100 g/min) 혹은 nitroprusside dihydrate (500 ng/100 g/min)를 대퇴정맥을 통하여 주사하였다. 후시상하부로 부터 20분 간격으로 얻은 투석액에서 신정화학물질들의 농도는 미세투석관 삽입후 2시간에 안정되었다. 관류액의 $K^{+}$ 농도를 90 mM로 증가시켰을 때 후시상하부의 투석액에서 norepinephrine (NE) 과 serotonin (5-HT)의 농도는 각각 기준치의 176.5 $\pm$ 14.8%, 149.1 $\pm$ 2.3%로 증가하였다. Phenylephrine (i.v.)으로 유발된 전신 혈압상승에 의하여 NE과 5-HT의 양은 각각 기준치의 79.3 $\pm$ 4.4%, 61.4 $\pm$ 10.3%로 유의하게 감소하였다. 또한 nitroprusside (i.v.)에 의하여 전신혈압이 감소하였을 때 투석액내 5-HT의 양은 기준치의 195.0 $\pm$ 23.0% 로 유의하게 증가하였다. 후시상하부의 투석액내 monoamine성 대사체들의 경우에는 전신 혈압의 변화에 대한 유의한 반응을 나타내지 않았다. 이상을 종합하면 전신 혈압이 증가되었을 때는 말초 압수용체의 흥분에서 기시한 신경충동이 후시상하부에 전달되어 신경말단에서 5-HT 과 NE 의 유리가 감소되고, 5-HT의 경우에는 전신 혈압이 감소되었을때 그 반대 현상이 일어난다는 가설을 제시할 수 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 생체상태에서 혈압변화에 대한 후시상하부의 monoamine성 조절양상을 규명한 것으로서 특히 후시상하부의 serotonin성 신경계를 통한 심혈관 중추조절의 가능성을 처음으로 제시한 것이다.

A DC Reference Fluctuation Reduction Circuit for High-Speed CMOS A/D Converter (고속 CMOS A/D 변환기를 위한 기준전압 흔들림 감쇄 회로)

  • In high speed flash type or pipelining type A/D Converter, the faster sampling frequency is, the more the effect of DC reference fluctuation is increased by clock feed-through and kick-back. When we measure A/D Converter, further, external noise increases reference voltage fluctuation. Thus reference fluctuation reduction circuit must be needed in high speed A/D converter. Conventional circuit simply uses capacitor but layout area is large and it's not efficient. In this paper, a reference fluctuation reduction circuit using transmission gate is proposed. In order to verify the proposed technique, we designed and manufactured 6bit 2GSPS CMOS A/D converter. The A/D converter is based on 0.18um 1-poly 5-metal N-well CMOS technology, and it consumes 145mW at 1.8V power supply. It occupies chip area of $977um\times1040um$. Experimental result shows that SNDR is 36.25 dB and INL/DNL ${\pm}0.5LSB$ when sampling frequency is 2GHz.

  • We constructed a quasi-distributed fiber-optic sensor network for the safety monitoring in power systems. It is possible to construct many of FBG sensors in a line and to be immune from electromagnetic noise. For demodulation analysis of reflected wavelength from FBG sensor, we proposed a simple and fast system using a InGaAs photo-diode array and a holographic diffraction grating. For accuracy improvement of the proposed demodulation system, we applied a Gaussian line-fitting algorithm. We obtained about 4[pm] of wavelength resolution and stability.

  • Although the second driving device of KTX, which consists of the wheel and the axle reduction gears unit, is a mechanically integrated structure, its preventive maintenance (PM) requires two separate intervals due to the different technical requirements. In particular, these subsystems perform attaching and detaching work simultaneously according to the maintenance directive. Therefore, to reduce the unnecessary amount of PM and high logistic availability of the train, it is important to optimize PM with regard to reliability-centered maintenance toward a cost-effective solution. In this study, fault tree analysis and reliability of the subsystems, considering the criticality of the components, were performed using the data derived from field data in maintenance. The cost optimization of the PM was derived from a genetic algorithm considering the target reliability and improvement factor. The cost optimization was derived from a maximum of the fitness function of the individual in generation. The optimal TBO of them using the genetic algorithm was 2.85x106 km, which is reduced to approximately 21% compared to the conventional method.

Prediction of Two-phase Taylor Flow Characteristics in a Rectangular Micro-channel (사각 마이크로 채널 내 Taylor 유동 특성 예측에 대한 연구)

  • The characteristics of a gas-liquid Taylor (slug) flow in a square micro-channel with dimensions of $600{\mu}m{\times}600{\mu}m$ are experimentally investigated in this paper. The test fluids were nitrogen and water. The superficial velocities of the liquid and gas were in the ranges of 0.01 - 3 m/s and 0.1 - 3 m/s, respectively. The bubble and liquid slug lengths, bubble velocities, and bubble frequencies for various inlet conditions were measured by analyzing optical images obtained with a high-speed camera. It was found that the measured values (bubble and liquid slug lengths, bubble velocities) were not in good agreement with the values obtained using empirical models presented in the existing literature. Modified models for the bubble and liquid slug lengths and bubble velocity are suggested and shown to be in good agreement (${\pm}20$) with the measured values. Moreover, the bubble frequency could be predicted well by the relationship between the unit cell length and its velocity.

Comparison of removal efficiency of diesel particulate filter with different measurement methods in a high-speed marine diesel engine (선박용 고속 디젤엔진에 적용한 디젤미립자 필터의 측정방법에 따른 입자상물질 저감효율 비교 연구)

  • This study was conducted to compare the particulate removal efficiency of the developed diesel particulate filter using various measurement methods in a high-speed marine diesel engine. A four-stroke mechanical marine diesel engine is used for the test, which has a maximum output of 403 kW and is coupled to an AC dynamometer to control engine speed and load. The test was conducted based on four steady-state engine operating conditions of E3 engine test cycle for the measurement of PM and soot removal efficiency using partial dilution method considered as gravimetric method and filter smoke number method as light absorption method, respectively. As a result of the removal efficiency measurement according to the application of diesel particulate filter, particulate matter was reduced from 76% to 91% and the soot was reduced by more than 90% while meeting the permissible engine back pressure. From these results, the applicability of diesel particulate filter adopted in high-speed marine diesel engines could be confirmed. In addition, based on the result that the particulate removal efficiency varies with different measurement methods, the necessity of unification of these methods could be identified.
