A Study on the High Performance PWM Technique for a Propulsion System of Railway (철도차량용 추진제어장치의 고능률 PWM기법에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents a high performance low switching PWM technique or the propulsion system of railway such as subway and high speed train. In order to achieve the continuous voltage control to six-step and s low harmonics with low switching frequency under 500Hz, the synchronous technique is combined with a space vector overmodulation and implemented by using DSP. Improved performance and a validation of proposed method are showed by the digital simulation and the experimental results using a 1.65MVA IGBT VVVF inverter and inertia load equivalent to 160 tons railway cars.

A Study on Interference between High Voltage Impulse Track Circuit(HVITC) and AF Track Circuit (고전압임펄스궤도회로(HVITC)와 AF 궤도회로간의 간섭에 대한 연구)

  • Two types of track circuits are used in high speed railway car depots: one is High Voltage Impulse Track Circuit(HVITC); the other is AF track circuit. HVITC detects train occupation of blocks and broken rail; the AF track circuit is used for train onboard control system pretesting before departure. This testing is used to transmit train control information through the AF track circuit. The two systems are switched in turns for testing. We propose a system in which the AF track circuit is replaced by a loop cable that is installed on the inside rail; as such, engineers do not need to switch the systems. In cases in which the two systems run simultaneously, mutual interference may occur. In this paper, we identified this mutual interference by modeling of the two circuits.

  • 현재 조선소를 비롯하여 각종 산업 전반적으로 기존의 SCR 용접기를 대체하여 용접품질이 우수한 인버터 용접기가 널리 사용되고 있는 실정이다. 그러나 기존 인버터 용접기의 전원은 Mono 타입으로 이루어져 있어 대용량 인버터 용접기의 경우 대용량 스위칭 소자가 요구되어 제조원가가 높다. 그리고 문제 발생 시 용접기의 사용이 불가능하게 된다. 개발된 단위모듈을 병렬로 연결하여 대용량 용접기를 구성하게 되면 제조원가를 절감할 수 있으며 병렬로 연결되어 단위 모듈에 문제가 발생하여도 계속적인 사용이 가능하고, 주 회로를 작은 용량으로 분산시켜 전력을 제어하므로 높은 에너지 효율을 가지게 된다. 또한 인버터 용접기의 가장 중요한 성능인 스위칭 주파수에 있어서도 기존의 인버터 용접기는 20kHz의 스위칭 주파수를 가지지만 본 기술은 낮은 전력을 병렬로 연결하여 대용량을 동시에 제어가능 하므로 약 70kHz의 고속제어가 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 개발된 용량 170A단위모듈을 병렬로 연결하여 단위모듈 집적형 인버터 아크용접기 510A, 680A급의 부하테스트 실시 및 기본출력특성에 대하여 실험하였으며, GMAW에서 ${\Phi}1.6$ 솔리드 와이어를 이용하여 두께 20t의 후판 맞대기 용접에 적용실험을 실시하였다. 그 결과 모든 전류영역에서의 부하특성 및 출력특성이 양호하게 나타났으며, 후판 맞대기 용접에서는 SAW에 버금가는 생산성과 용접특성을 얻을 수 있었다.

Optimization of panel parameters and drive signals for high-speed matrix addressing of a bistable twisted-nematic LCD (쌍안정 TN LCD의 고속 매트릭스 어드레싱을 위한 패널 파라미터와 구동 파형의 최적화)

  • In this paper we introduce a method to optimize panel parameters and drive signals in a matrix-adressed bistable twsited-nematic (BTN) liquid crystal display (LCD) panel. We measured the effect of data pulses on optical switching characteristics in a BTN LC cell to model the effect theoretically. We introduce a weighting function to model the effect of data pulses on the switching energy as a function of time. Once the weighting function is known, we can estimate the maximum number of lines for multiplexing operation at a given frame rate by calculating the minimum data pulse width. By characterizing a unit cell as we change panel parameters (for example, d/p ratio), we can optimize parameters for high-speed operation. We found that our theoretical predictions agree very well with experimental results.

  • Relatively slow tuning speed of optical device causes the unwanted delay in high speed single-hop multiwavelength networks. To lessen the overhead, we present a channel access protocol with dynamjic message scheduling. Th eframe structure of proposed protocol adopts hybrid multiaccess scheme in which WDMA is used as a basic multiaccess technique and TDMA is used to provide subchannels within a wavelength band. This architecture has two merits : the network extention is not limited by available number of wavelengths, and the transmission delay caused by optical device tuning time can to minimize the number of tunings. It schedules messages that require same wavelength channels sequencely, so the total transmission delay is reduced by decreasement of wavelength changes. The performance of proposed protocol is evaluated through numerical analysis based on probability and queueing theory.   • 본 논문에서는 마이크로그리드 시스템의 기존 교류 배전망에서 전력 전송 손실을 개선하기 위해 직류 배전망으로 설계하면서 전력을 저장하는 배터리부와 상기 배터리부로부터 LVDC망 전압을 사용자가 설정 및 설계한 전압에 대응하며 유지하기 위한 양방향 DC/DC 컨버터에 대해서 연구하였다. 기존에 사용하던 방식과는 다르게 슈퍼캐패시터를 추가하여 고속, 고출력의 충방전을 할 수 있으며, 이러한 특징으로 인하여 전력품질 개선과 비상시 전력을 공급할 수 있는 장접을 갖게 되었다. 제어기는 PI 제어기를 적용하였으며, PWM 게이팅 신호를 만들어 스위칭 소자를 제어하였다. 매트랩 시뮬링크를 이용하여 양방향 DC/DC 컨버터의 회로를 설계하고 구동 알고리즘을 적용해서 시스템을 구성하여, 슈퍼캐패시터를 이용한 양방향 DC/DC 컨버터의 역할 가능성을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 검증하였다.

Reviewing of Operating Stability about Pulse Detonation Engine's Ignition Circuit to the Type of Power Sources (점화 신호 종류에 따른 PDE 점화회로의 작동 안정성 연구)

  • A pulse detonation engine (PDE) requires high operating frequency greater than 100 Hz to get meaning thrust as a propulsion devise. Thus a PDE needs an ignition circuit operating precisely at high operating frequencies. In this paper AC(alternating current) and DC(direct current) types of ignition circuits were designed and compared. Each circuit was tested at operating frequencies from 16.66 to 100.00 Hz by measuring the input signal of each circuit and the voltage change in the primary coil of the transformer. Results show that the DC power circuit can attain a maximum error rate of 5.15% at higher operating frequencies, whereas the AC power circuit displays a negligible agreement with the operating signal at frequencies greater than 33.33 Hz. Therefore it is confirmed that DC-powered ignition circuit is preferable for the PDE operating at high frequencies.

  • The power transformation system of High Speed rolling stocks like KTX-Sancheon has shown excellent control capacities in the areas of riding comfortability, switching efficiency, safety and energy consumption due to technical developments in power-electronics, high speed & large scale integrated semiconductors and microprocessors. However, harmonics from IGBT, a high speed switching device used in the Convertor & Invertor equipment of rolling stocks have given rise to various problems in transformer substations, signaling systems, data transmission systems and facility monitoring systems. Especially, TI21 non-insulated track circuits have malfunctioned due to the influence of returning current harmonics which were generated at around of integer times of the number of power transformation equipment in the frequency domain. This paper, measures and analyzes various schemes to analyze the traveling path of the returning current harmonics generated due to the relationship between the rolling stocks and track circuits on site. Ultimately, theseschemes will be used to design high speed rolling stocks, AF track circuits and a common grounding network.

  • CMOS LC VCO with fast response adaptive frequency calibration (AFC) technique for IEEE 802.11a/b/g WLANs is designed in 1.8V $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process. The possible operation is verified for 5.8GHz band, 5.2GHz band, and 2.4GHz band using the switchable L-C resonators. To linearize its frequency-voltage gain (Kvco), optimized multiple MOS varactor biasing tecknique is used. In order to operate in each band frequency range with reduced VCO gain, 4-bit digitally controlled switched- capacitor bank is used and a wide-range digital logic quadricorrelator (WDLQ) is implemented for fast frequency detector.

Signal transient simulation of multi-coupledm frequency-variant transmission lines (주파수 종속 다중 전송선의 신호 천이 특성)

  • Frequency-variant transmission line parameters are determined. Then the signal transient characterizations of frequency-dependent multi-coupled lines are investigated. With the proposed method, an accurate signal integrity degradation such as signal ringing (overshoot, undershoot) and crosstalk noises relevant to the switching patterns of signals, rising / falling time(tr, tf) and line lengths is investigated. It is shown that there may be approximately 26% discrepancy of signal transients and 260% difference of crosstalk noises between the constant RLC model and frequency-variant RLC model in on-chip global interconnects while those of package lines are 11% and 70%, respectively.
