A Routing Algorithm for Minimizing Packet Loss Rate in High-Speed Packet-Switched Networks (고속의 패킷 교환망에서 패킷 손실율을 최소화하기 위한 경로 제어 알고리즘)

  • Gradient projection (GP) technique is applied for solving the optical routing problem (ORP) in high speed packet switched networks. The ORP minimizing average network packet loss probability is non-convex due to packet losses at intermediate switching nodes and its routing solution cannot be directly sought by the GP algorithm. Thus the non-convex ORP is transformed into a convex problem called the reduced-ORP (R-ORP) for which the GP algorithm can be used to obtain a routing solution. Through simulations, the routing solution of the R-ORP is shown to be a good approximation to that of the original ORP. Theoretical upper bound of difference between two (ORP and R-ORP) routing solutions is also derived.

Sub- Breaking Analysis of Free Surface Flows by the Numerical Simulation (수치 시뮬레이션을 통한 자유표면 유동의 Sub-Breaking 해석)

  • The free-surface flow is simulated to make clear the viscous interaction of stem waves and the sub-breaking phenomena around a high speed vehicle. The Navier-Stokes equation is solved by a finite difference method where the body-fitted coordinate system, the wall function and the triple-grid system are invoked They are applied to study precisely on the stem flow of S-103 as to which extensive experimental data are available. Computations are extended to the submerged revolutional body. The numerical result shows that the gradient of M/Us is greatly influenced by the submerged depth And the stem wave is influenced by the separation due to the bow wave.

  • The split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) has been widely used to determine the mechanical properties of materials at high loading rates. However, to ensure test reliability, the source of measurement error must be identified and eliminated. During the experiment, specimens were placed between the incident and the transmit bar. Contact friction between the test bars and specimen may cause errors. In this study, numerical experiments were carried out to investigate the effect of friction on the test results. In the SHPB test, the stress measured by the transmitted bar is assumed to be the flow stress of the test specimen. However, performing numerical experiments, it was shown that the stress measured by the transmit bar is axial stress components. When the contact surface is frictionless, the flow stress and axial stress of the specimen are approximately equal. On the other hand, when the contact surface is not frictionless, the flow stress and axial stress are no longer equal. The effect of friction on the difference between the flow stress and axial stress was investigated.

  • Four patterns for width adjustment were studied with an aim to increase the width-adjustment speed in continuous casting. The main goals are to minimize the actuating force of a WAM actuator, to develop a deformation analysis model of a solidified shell in the mold, and to induce the main limit factor for the speedup of width adjustment. On the basis of the width-adjustment experiment, the notable features of four patterns types were considered, and we compared the corresponding actuating forces. For comparing the driving forces of the patterns, during the experiment, the same casting speed was maintained for each pattern. To optimize the parameter of the deformation analysis model of the solidified shell, the experiment results were applied to them. To speed up width adjustment and to reduce the driving force, we controlled the pattern parameters. The most effective pattern was the fast-mode pattern, and the taper was the main parameter that helped reduce the driving forces during the motion of the actuator.

  • The coding of video sequences has been the focus of research in recent years. High Definition TV(HDTV), video conferencing and video on demand(VOD) are some of the well known applications. In the moving picture compression, motion estimation algorithm plays a very important role, but due to its high computational complexity, there has been many approaches to overcome this difficulty. We propose a new block matching criterion that uses modified cost functions. This new block matching criterion classifies pixels into 2-levels, 4-levels and 8-levels with a suitable thresholding method. We also show that our new proposed algorithms can easily be combined with many other fast motion estimation algorithms with good performance.

  • OFDM is a very attractive technique for achieving high-bit-rate data transmission and high spectrum efficiency in fading environment. However, the reliable detection of an OFDM signal in time-varying multipath fading channels is a challenging problem. Accordingly, various channel estimation methods have been proposed for performance improvement. But, conventional pilot patterns for channel estimation in OFDM systems have not robust characteristics relating to various mobile speed. To solve this drawback in conventional patterns, we propose the pilot patterns modified from conventional patterns to have a good error performance in time-varying fading channel. Simulation results show that the performance of the proposed pilot patterns is better than conventional patterns in fast time-varying channel.

비정질 실리콘 박막의 주울 가열 유도 결정화 공정 중 발생하는 Arc-Instability 기구 규명 및 방지책

  • 최근 차세대 평판 디스플레이의 응용에 많은 주목을 받고 있는 AMOLED의 경우 전류구동 방식이기 때문에 a-Si TFT 보다는 LTPS-TFT가 요구되며, 대면적 기판에서의 결정립 크기의 균일도가 매우 중요한 인자이다. 비정질 실리콘 박막 상부 혹은 하부에 도전층을 개재하고, 상기도전층에 전계를 인가하여 그것의 주울 가열에 의해 발생한 고열에 의해 비정질 실리콘 박막을 급속 고온 고상 결정화하는 방법에 관한 기술인 JIC (Joule-heating Induced Crystallization) 결정화 공정은 기판 전체를 한번에 결정화 하는 방법이다. JIC 결정화 공정에 의하여 제조된 JIC poly-Si은 결정립 크기의 균일성이 우수하며 상온에서 수 micro-second내에 결정화를 수행하는 것이 가능하고 공정적인 측면에서도 별도의 열처리 Chamber가 필요하지 않는 장점을 가지고 있다. 그러나 고온 고속 열처리 방법인 JIC 결정화 공정을 수행 하면 Arc에 의하여 시편이 파괴되는 현상이 발견되었다. 본 연구에서는 Arc현상의 원인을 파악하기 위해 전압 인가 조건 및 시편 구조 조건을 변수로 결정화실험을 진행하였다. ARC가 발생하는 Si층과 Electrode 계면을 식각 분리하여 Electrode와 Si층 사이의 계면이 형성되지 않는 조건에서 전계를 인가하는 실험을 통하여 JIC 결정화 공정 중 고온에 도달하게 되면, a-Si층이 변형되어 형성된 poly-Si층이 전도성을 띄게 되고 인가된 전압이 도전층과 Poly-Si 사이에 위치한 $SiO_2$의 절연파괴(Dielectric breakdown)전압보다 높을 경우 전압 인가 방향에 수직으로 $SiO_2$가 절연 파괴되며 면저항 형태의 전도층의 단락이 진행되며 전도층이 완전히 단락되는 순간 Arc가 발생한다는 것을 관찰 할 수 있었다. 본 실험의 연구 결과를 바탕으로 Arc 발생을 방지하는 다양한 구조의 Equi-Potential 방법이 개발되었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 고속으로 홀로그램을 생성하기 위해 새로운 컴퓨터 생성 홀로그램(computer-generated hologram, CGH) 수식을 제안하고, 셀 기반의 VLSI(very large scale integrated circuit) 구조를 제안하였다. 기본 CGH 수식에서 가로 또는 세로 방향의 연산 규칙을 찾아낸 후 가로 또는 세로 방향의 홀로그램 화소를 병렬적으로 구할 수 있는 수식을 유도하였다. 제안한 수식을 바탕으로 초기 파라미터 연산기(initial parameter calculator)와 업데이트-위상 연산기(update-phase calculator)로 구성된 CGH 셀의 구조를 제안하고 하드웨어로 구현하였다. 수식의 변형을 통해서 하드웨어를 간략화 시킬 수 있었고, CGH의 확장을 통해 가로 방향으로 병렬화시킬 수 있는 하드웨어 구조도 보였다. 실험에서는 하드웨어에 사용된 자원을 분석하였다. CGH 커널과 프로세서의 구조는 이전 연구에서 사용된 플랫폼을 그대로 사용하였다.

A Study on Impact Resistance Properties with Composition Materials and Installation Conditions of Protective Panel (방호 패널의 구성 재료 및 설치 조건에 따른 내충격 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study suggested that protective panels should be installed as sacrificial members as a safety design method for structures with potential explosions such as hydrogen charging stations to minimize direct damage to the structure and have resilience. To this end, the focus of the experiment is on quantitatively evaluating the impact of the structure when the protection panel is installed closely or spaced apart from the structure in a high-speed collision situation of the projectile. The experimental design used steel plates instead of concrete structural members mainly used in the past for excellent reproducibility, and the impact of structural members was compared and analyzed through deformation differences on the back of the steel plate. In addition, the impact of changes in the physical properties of the elastic body used as a separation material for the protective member and the difference in shock wave transmission time according to the protective member and the elastic body on the structural member was investigated.

A Fast Search Algorithm for Raman Spectrum using Singular Value Decomposition (특이값 분해를 이용한 라만 스펙트럼 고속 탐색 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose new search algorithms using SVD(Singular Value Decomposition) for fast search of Raman spectrum. In the proposed algorithms, small number of the eigen vectors obtained by SVD are chosen in accordance with their respective significance to achieve computation reduction. By introducing pilot test, we exclude large number of data from search and then, we apply partial distance search(PDS) for further computation reduction. We prepared 14,032 kinds of chemical Raman spectrum as the library for comparisons. Experiments were carried out with 7 methods, that is Full Search, PDS, 1DMPS modified MPS for applying to 1-dimensional space data with PDS(1DMPS+PDS), 1DMPS with PDS by using descending sorted variance of data(1DMPS Sort with Variance+PDS), 250-dimensional components of the SVD with PDS(250SVD+PDS) and proposed algorithms, PSP and PSSP. For exact comparison of computations, we compared the number of multiplications and additions required for each method. According to the experiments, PSSP algorithm shows 64.8% computation reduction when compared with 250SVD+PDS while PSP shows 157% computation reduction.
