  • Recently, in Korea, financial institutions such as banks are most severely affected by the universalization of the Internet and smartphones. On the other hand, the use of online systems by financial institutions keeps increasing; the convenience of online services has a significant influence on the attraction and the retention of financial customers; consumer needs are also diversely expressed. This paper deduces from the precedent researches a mechanism that online financial system enhances the trust of customers -the medium of the online system and other customers- and its perceived easiness affects its perceived effectiveness and then all these internal variables induce satisfaction. Plus, this paper aims at verification of the hypothesis in terms of an extended technology acceptance model, based on the hypothesis that word of mouth and repurchase are significantly linked to this mechanism. Through this study, the researchers tried to check how the online service quality and emotional factors of financial institutions affect the users in accordance with the trend of changes in the service usage method of financial institutions, and confirmed that the hypothesis was not rejected.

  • The rapid changes of financial environment have increased the need and demand for personal financial advisory service from financial experts. In particular, as the individual customers want to get more customized financial services, the financial institutions created the private banking (PB) sector and have constantly expanded their PB services. However, it remains still problematic that the private banking system requires high costs so that the number of eligible customers who can have proper PB services is quite limited. To solve this problem, we propose an intelligent agent that can provides specialized and customized personal financial advisory services to the customers with low costs. The proposed agent systemizes and structures the information and knowledge of financial experts in private banking services so that individual customers can easily access to high-quality PB services when they need. On the first attempt we develop a framework of U-smart PB, an intelligent agent for personal financial management based on different scenarios related to personal financial decisions, and derive its core services. This system not only provides information simply, but also proposes to support personal investment decisions technically as an intelligent agent that embodies real-time customized financial management in a ubiquitous environment, regardless of time and place.

To accomplish this, theoretical reviews and empirical analysis were jointly carried out. For the empirical analysis, a survey was conducted from April 3 to April 6, and total 291 copies of the questionnaire were used for the statistical analysis, SPSS 15.0 and LISREL 8.30. The results of the test of the hypotheses can be summarized as follows: First, the analysis shows that there is significant difference between the perceived risk and attitude of a food service event user. The perceived risk of food service event users causes effect that is contradictory in attitude. As users' perceived risk is less, attitude improved. Among the 1,077 SME sample data collected with the help of Korean Industrial Complex Corporation, 228 sample data from capital goods sectors had been selected and analyzed. Several mutiple regression models were developed to test the main and the interaction effects of two independent variables business scope and TIC on SME performance. The empirical analysis show that the number of product lines, one of the two scope variable measured, is positively correlated with the return on sales(ROS). Among the variable of TIC, the number of intellectual property rights(IPRs) is positively correlated with the sales growth rates of SMEs, which the ratio of engineers to total employees is positively correlated with the ROS of SMEs. The results also delineated some interaction effects of business scope and TIC on SME performance. There exists a positive interaction effect of the ratio of engineers to total employees and the number of product lines both on ROS and scales growth rate. The interaction of the number of customers and the number of IPRs positively effects on ROS, and also the interaction of the number of product lines and the number of IPRs are positively related with ROS. Findings of this research indicates that it is necessary for SMEs in capital goods sectors to accumulate technological innovation capability and to expand business scope to improve firm performance. Furthermore, the accumulation of internal TIC should accommodate with the expansion of business scope to gain an improved performance. Particularly, adequate technological innovation capability is required to address the need of expanded customers when enlarging the scope of customers.

  • The purposes of this study were (1) to analyze price sensitivity, (2) to define the range of acceptable prices for each foreign segment, and (3) to provide a price model for Korean traditional restaurants. From October to November, 2006, a total of 781 foreigners responded to individual surveys. Statistical analyses on the survey data were performed using descriptive statistics and Price Sensitivity Measurement (PSM). Major findings from the study are as follows: First, the ranges of the acceptable prices were $98$\sim$$130 for fine dining/gourmet restaurants, $70$\sim$$90 for theme/ambience restaurants, $40$\sim$$60 for popular/family restaurants, and $18$\sim$$30 for convenience/fast food restaurants. Second, the convenience/fast food restaurants showed the highest price sensitivity. Third, a low stress level and wide range of the acceptable price were observed for the fine dining/gourmet restaurants, suggesting that the price sensitivity of the fine dining/gourmet restaurants was quite low. Finally, the price sensitivity indicated by the Japanese was higher than by the other groups. In consequence, the research findings suggest that the managers of the Korean traditional restaurants should strategically plan prices by understanding different customers' price sensitivity within and between customer segments. Through additional research, marketers can compare perceptions of specific brands, the competition, and variations within a product line.

  • The research compared the motivational network of traits predictive of complaint attitudes across consumers in the U.S. and South Korean cultures. Overall, the results revealed a similar pattern of traits predictive of complaint attitudes in the two cultures. The traits of value consciousness, general self-efficacy, emotional instability, and the need for material resources were positively related to attitudes toward complaining. In contrast, conscientiousness was negatively related to complaint attitudes. The only trait predictor of complaining attitude that was significantly different between the Korean and U.S. samples was shopping enjoyment. It was negatively related to complaining attitude in the U.S. sample but unrelated to complaining attitude in the Korean sample. Understanding the personality traits predictive of complaint attitudes has the potential to help marketers develop messages that will encourage the low complaint prone to voice their dissatisfaction. This is important, because when a consumer complains about and unsatisfactory purchase, it gives the firm a chance to take actions to avoid losing a customer.
