  • KBANN (knowledge-based artificial neural network) combining the symbolic approach and the numerical approach has been shown to be more effective than other machine learning models. However KBANN doesn't have the theory refinement ability because the topology of network can't be altered dynamically. Although TopGen was proposed to extend the ability of KABNN in this respect, it also had some defects due to the link-ing of hidden nodes to input nodes and the use of beam search. The algorithm which could solve this TopGen's defects, by adding the hidden nodes linked to next layer nodes and using hill-climbing search with backtracking, is designed.

  • The elastic analysis of floor slabs using the p-version of finite element method encounters stress singularities at certain types of reentrant corners, openings and cut-outs. Results obtained using the computer code based on C.deg. - hierarchic plate element formulated by Reissner-Mindlin theory are compared with theoretical predictions and with computational results reported in the literature. The convergence rate of h-, p- and hp-version can be estimated on the basis of the energy norm in global sense. If accuracy in terms of the number of degree-of-freedom is used as a criterion, the solutions presented here are the most efficient that have been published up to date. Examples are the rhombic plate with the obtuse angle of 150.deg. and the square plate with cut-outs.

  • Moebius' L,INCAL Analysis of 'self' and 'self-consciousness' in philosophic viewpoint. In this research, I studies and analyzed Mobius' L,INCAL who had affected revitalization of Europe and America's genre cartoon and graphic novel. Among the L,INCAL. I selected some parts which are related to 'self' and 'self-consciousness' of 융(Jung), 라캉(Lacan), chaos theory Because it is too extensive for me to do this. Cartoons filled with philosophy is likely to have a possibility to be seen by adults. The goal of this study is to make a coner stone which all the classes can enjoy various cultures with.

  • Every neural network has some kind of feedback. For the sake of analyzing fundamental aspects of information processing in neural nets, a net without feedbacks is an important theoretical model. But here we focus on a recurrent neural net which delay synapses as a realistic dynamical model of nervous systems. Synaptic connections are determined by a version of the Hebb rule (correlation type rule). We use a statistical neurodynamic method to explain the retrieval dynamics of the network. The result of the analysis for the sequential associativ e memory with delay synapses is compared with computer simulation. We have succeeded in explaining the dynamics of this network by theoretical analyses.

  • This study proposes a methodology for using facet analysis in ontology modeling and investigates how facet analysis could be utilized in ontology design processes. We applied facet analysis methods developed by Ranganathan and CRG (Classification Research Group) to modeling Smartphone ontology. Utilizing the guiding principles of Ranganathan and CRG, main facets, such as Type, Spec, Function, Operation, Product, Person, Agent, Space and Time, are derived for Smartphone ontology. It is hoped that the methods and procedures employed in identifying and categorizing facets and ontology in this study will provide insights into designing future ontologies.

  • The evaluation of design is one of the most important steps in design process. However, because in most cases, design evaluation has been disregarded in comparison with other steps and has been performed by designer's subjective judgment. there are few studies for the development of systematic methodology. In this study, we developed the method of design evaluation using the fuzzy theory and the multi-criteria dedsion making model. This method consists of two steps. The first step is to obtain relative importance weights of design evaluation criteria, and the second step is to obtain and integrate scores for design evaluation criteria. AHP(analytic hierarchy process) and fuzzy theory were applied to the first and the second step, respectively. We applied the developed method to the sensible evaluation of cellular phone design. As the result, we verified that the developed method could be effectively used in the evaluation of product design.

  • This paper presents the application of fuzzy set theory in multi criteria decision making (MCDM). FAHP (Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process) method was used to rank alternatives to find the most reasonable and efficient way of agricultural reservoir water resources assessment. 6 criteria and 10 subcriteria had been identified and compared to secure agricultural water resources. Fuzzy numbers and linguistic variables were presented to address inherently uncertain or imprecise data. Comparison analysis of decision making method was also carried out to find a way of suitable decision making and validity of FAHP was discussed.

  • Recently, the need of wast incineratory has been recognized. However, the waste incinerator is considered the typical example of NYMB syndrome as a locally unwanted facilities. Therefore, the site selection of waste incineratory should be determined very carefully with consideration of various location factors. The purpose of this study is to provide a new decision-making process model for site selection that provides a rational and a systematic way. The fuzzy set theory and AHP theory, which have merits to overcome uncertainly and complexity of spatial data, are applied to select candidate sites for the waste incineratory. The method is able to produce a more flexible and objective solution for selecting suitability sites in comparison to rigid boolean logic. The result of this study shows that geographic information systems have clear implication for informing the spatial decision making process.

  • A word 'is' in "A parallelogram is trapezoid." is ambiguous and very rich when it comes to its meaning. In this paper, 'is' as in everyday language will be identified as semantic primes that can be interpreted in different ways depending on context and situation, and meanings of 'is' in mathematics will be discussed separately. Focusing on 'identity', 'is' will be reinterpreted in the view of equivalence relation and van Hieles' work. 'Is', as a mathematical sign, is thought to have a significant importance in producing mathematical ideas meaningfully.
