Solder Region Detection and Height Calculation by the Characteristics and Phase Difference of the 3D Profiles in Moire Images (모아레 영상에서 3차원 형상정보의 특성과 위상차에 의한 솔더영역 검출 및 높이 계산)

  • The cause of defects in the PCB SMT assembly is mostly solder paste deposits. Conventional inspection methods for solder paste deposits suffer from slow speed, low reliability and high cost. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for calculating the height and region of solder paste on PCB using the 3D profiles without measuring the 2D image. The solder paste region is detected by the phase difference in the measurement points and the average phase on the whole surface of PCB. The high reliable height of the solder paste region is computed by the average of the measurement points' phase with repeatability and reliability. The experimental results revealed improvements of 17% in inspection time and 29% repeatability in the height calculation of the solder paste region, resulting in a high speed and less expensive system.

Change Area Detection using Color and Edge Gradient Covariance Features (색상과 에지 공분산 특징을 이용한 변화영역 검출)

  • This paper proposes a change detection method based on the covariance matrices of color and edge gradient in a color video. The YCbCr color format was used instead of RGB. The color covariance matrix was calculated from the CbCr-channels and the edge gradient covariance matrix was calculated from the Y-channels. The covariance matrices were effectively calculated at each pixel by calculating the sum, squared sum, and sum of two values' multiplication of a rectangle area using the integral images from a background image. The background image was updated by a running the average between the background image and a current frame. The change areas in a current frame image against the background were detected using the Mahalanobis distance, which is a measure of the statistical distance using covariance matrices. The experimental results of an expressway color video showed that the proposed approach can effectively detect change regions for color and edge gradients against the background.

Computation of the Time-domain Induced Polarization Response Based on Cole-Cole Model (Cole-Cole 모델에 대한 시간영역 유도분극 반응의 계산)

  • The frequency-domain induced polarization (IP) response based on Cole-Cole model is expressed as a simple equation in close form. However, it is difficult to compute the time-domain IP response based on Cole-Cole model or any other relaxation model because it cannot be written in closed form. In this study, using numerical experiments, we compared three numerical methods for calculating the time-domain IP response of the Cole-Cole model asymptotically: series expansion, digital linear filtering and Fourier transform. The series expansion method is inadequately accurate for certain time values and converges very slowly. A digital linear filter specially designed to calculate the time-domain IP response does not present the desired accuracy, especially at later times. The Fourier transform method can overcome the abovementioned problems and present the time-domain IP response with adequate accuracy for all time values, even though more computing time is required.

  • JPEG2000은 ISO/ITU-T에 의해 개발된 가장 최근의 영상 압축 표준으로 기존의 JPEG 표준이 제공하는 압축 성능을 개선하고 새로운 기능을 제공해준다. 이러한 기능 중 하나는 관심영역(Region of Interest) 부호화이다. JPEG2000 표준에서는 이러한 관심영역 부호화를 위해 Part 1에서는 Maxshift 방법을 정의하고 있다. Maxshift 방법은 관심영역을 완전히 복원하기 전까지 배경이 복원되지 않는다. 또한 영상전체를 웨이블릿 변환을 함으로써 메모리와 계산량이 상당히 많아진다. 본 논문에서는 JPEG 2000에서 사용되는 Maxshift 방법에서 관심영역이 완전복원되기 전에는 배경영역이 복원되지 않는 단점을 보완하고 부호화효율과 메모리 사용을 줄일 수 있는 영상 타일링에 기반한 관심영역 부호화 방법을 제안한다.

Fast Motion Estimation Algorithm via Optimal Candidate for Each Step (단계별 최적후보를 통한 고속 움직임 예측 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a fast motion estimation algorithm which is important in performance of video encoding. Even though so many fast algorithms for motion estimation have been published due to tremendous computational amount of full search algorithm, efforts for reducing computations of motion estimation still remain. In the paper, we propose an algorithm that reduces unnecessary computations only, while keeping prediction quality the same as that of the full search. The proposed algorithm does not calculate block matching error for each candidate directly to find motion vectors but divides the calculation procedure into several steps and calculates partial sum of block errors for candidates with high priority. By doing that, we can find the minimum error point early and get the enhancement of calculation speed by reducing unnecessary computations. The proposed algorithm uses smaller computations than conventional fast search algorithms with the same prediction quality as the full search algorithm.

Numerical Computation of Radar Scattering Coefficient for Randomly Rough Dielectric Surfaces (불규칙적으로 거친 유전체 표면에서의 레이더 산란계수 수치해석적 계산)

  • Scattering coefficients of randomly rough lossy dielectric surfaces were computed by using the FDTD(Finite-Difference Time-Domain) method and the Monte Carlo method in this paper. The FDTD method was applied to compute electromagnetic wave scattering characteristics at any incident angles, any linear polarizations by dividing the computation region into the total-field region and the scattered-field region. The radar cross sections(RCS) of conducting cylinders have been computed and compared with theoretical results, measurement data and the results from the method of moment(MoM) to verify the FDTD algorithm. Then, to apply the algorithm to compute scattering coefficients of distributed targets, a two-dimensionally rough surface was generated numerically for given roughness characteristics. The far-zone scattered fields of 50 statistically independent dielectric rough surfaces were computed and the scattering coefficient of the surface was calculated from the scattered fields by using the Monte Carlo method. It was found that these scattering coefficients agree well with the SPM(Small Pertubation Method) model in its validity region.

A Comparison between J0 and J1 Digital Linear Filters in Resistivity Soundings (비저항탐사에서 J0 및 J1 디지탈 선형필터의 비교)

  • The filtering ability of $J_0$ and $J_1$ digital linear filters is compared by means of an adaptive linear filter. Any $J_0$ domain Hankel transform integral can be transformed mathematically into its corresponding $J_1$ domain integral. The apparent resistivities for any electrode configuration employed in resistivity soundings can be evaluated with a single $J_1$ filter. The $J_1$ filter usually has similar accuracy to, but shorter length than, the corresponding $J_0$ filter. The domain transformation from $J_0$ to $J_1$ enables us to use effective expressions of apparent resistivity, involving $J_1$ alone, not only for Schlumberger but also for dipole-dipole array.

  • This paper proposes a frequency-domain partially adaptive algorithm, called a censoring algorithm, to reduce the computational complexity of the frequency domain adaptive array. The proposed censoring algorithm determines the existence of interferences in the frequency-domain at each frequency bin using a constant false alarm rate (CFAR) processor. The censoring algorithm adapts only those parts of the weights that correspond to the frequency bins expected to contain interferences. The censoring algorithm is also expanded to overcome the signal cancellation phenomenon caused by smart jammers. Accordingly, a censoring spatial smoothing, which combines the censoring algorithm with spatial smoothing, is proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithms are effective in removing interferences with only part of the computational complexity of conventional algorithms yet with the same level of performance.

  • 본 논문은 저해상도와 많은 노이즈를 갖는 일반 CCTV의 입력 영상에서 실시간으로 움직이는 물체를 검출하고 그 물체의 움직임을 추적하는 방법을 제안 한다. 본 논문은 CCTV영상으로부터의 입력 영상을 순차를 갖는 명암도 영상으로 실시간 변환 하여 진행 한다. 움직이는 물체의 추출은 첫째, 획득한 영상의 그레이 영상을 포스터라이징을 이용하여 명암 분포를 축소하고 차영상을 통해 윤곽을 추출한다. 둘째, 본 논문이 제안하는 영역 단위 이진화를 통해 이진화와 잡음의 제거를 동시에 수행한다. 셋째, 손실된 정보의 보정을 위해 이진 영상의 팽창을 수행한다. 넷째, 이진 영상의 가로/세로 명암 밀도 분포를 통해 움직이는 물체 영역을 검출한다. 검출된 물체의 추적은 현 재 프레임의 물체 영역과 이전 프레임의 물체 영역의 중심을 계산한 후, 두 중심의 거리 차를 계산한다. 계산된 거리가 임계값보다 작을 경우 같은 물체로 인식하고 계속 추적하며, 임계값 이상의 값일 경우 새로운 물체로 인식한다. 추적된 이동물체의 중심점이 화면의 중앙 부분에 있지 않을 경우, 이동물체의 중심으로 카메라의 방향을 조정한다. 실험결과, 제안한 방법으로 저해상도와 많은 노이즈를 갖는 일반 CCTV 의 입력 영상에서도 실시간으로 움직이는 물체를 검출하고, 그 물체의 움직임을 추적 할 수 있었다.

  • Traditional document analysis systems used word-based analysis using a morphological analyzer or TF-IDF technique. These systems have the advantage of being able to derive key keywords by calculating the weights of the keywords. On the other hand, it is not appropriate to analyze the contents of documents due to the structural limitations. To solve this problem, the proposed algorithm calculates the weights of the documents in the document and divides the paragraphs into areas. And we calculate the importance of the divided regions and let the user know the area with the most important paragraphs in the document. So, it is expected that the user will be provided with a service suitable for analyzing documents rather than using existing document analysis systems.
