A Study on the Application of Alarm Signals for the Realization of OAM Function in the WDM Optical Transmission System (WDM 광전송시스템의 감시제어 기능실현을 위한 경보신호 적용에 관한 연구)

  • To effectively supervise WDM systems requires that the alarm signals for each optical transport network layer is considered. The related recommendations and studies for alarm signals are defining fundamental functions without specifying the structure and configuration of the supervisory channel. In this paper, we propose the detailed alarm signals and propagation flows for each optical transport network layer. We also describe the structure of overhead and the configuration of supervisory channel. Our proposals are based on the ITU T requirements of optical transport network and the supervisory schemes of terminal & add-drop systems. We show that our proposed schemes effectively performs supervisory functions for various fault conditions which will occur in terminal & add-drop typed WDM systems.

Developmental Plan of Man-Overboard Alert Devices of Small Fishing Vessels: A Study (소형어선의 선외추락 경보장치 개발 방안 연구)

  • A method of transmitting an alert signal in case of man-overboard (MOB) systems in a small fishing vessel navigating within coastal area is being operated as VHF-DSC equipment via a distress alert button and V-P ass Equipment via alert button or beacon separation. However, a small fishing vessel with a couple of crews on board is an inappropriate way to alert a man-overboard condition. However, internationally, MOB equipment using VHF-DSC, AIS, and Bluetooth technologies is used to transmit alert signals directly to the mother ship and other radio stations. In order to analyze the performance and technology of the MOB equipment operating in foreign countries, it was confirmed that the alarm signal can be received within a maximum of one nautical mile when the MOB device is on the water surface. An MOB device that meets domestic conditions needs to send an alarm signal to a station within the VHF communication range. However, in order to reduce the false alert signal, it is most appropriate to operate the VHF-DSC radio equipment installed on the ship remotely. Analysis of various technologies connecting the MOB and the VHF-DSC revealed that the Bluetooth system has advantages such as device miniaturization. When an emergency signal is transmitted from the MOB device, it can be received by a dedicated receiver and recognized through an external input terminal of the VHF-DSC equipment generating its own alarm. If the emergency situation cannot be processed at the mother ship, a distress alert is sent to all radio stations via VHF-DSC for response under emergencies faced by small fishing vessels.

A Study on the Improvement of Fire Alarm System in Special Buildings Using Beacons in Edge Computing Environment (에지 컴퓨팅 환경에서 비콘을 활용한 특수건물 화재 경보 시스템 개선 방안 연구)

  • Today, with the development of technology and industry, fire accidents in special buildings are increasing as special buildings increase. However, despite the rapid development of information and communication technology, human casualties are steadily occurring due to the underdeveloped and ineffective indoor fire alarm system. In this study, we confirmed that the existing indoor fire alarm system using acoustic alarm could not deliver a sufficiently large alarm to the in-room personnel. To improve this, we designed and implemented a fire alarm system using edge computing and beacons. The proposed improved fire alarm system consists of terminal sensor nodes, edge nodes, a user application, and a server. The terminal sensor nodes collect indoor environment data and send it to the edge node, and the edge node monitors whether a fire occurs through the transmitted sensor value. In addition, the edge node continuously generate beacon signals to collect information of smart devices with user applications installed within the signal range, store them in a server database, and send application push-type fire alarms to all in-room personnel based on the collected user information. As a result of conducting a signal valid range measurement experiment in a university building with dense lecture rooms, it was confirmed that device information was normally collected within the beacon signal range of the edge node and a fire alarm was quickly sent to specific users. Through this, it was confirmed that the "blind spot problem of the alarm" was solved by flexibly collecting information of visitors that changes time to time and sending the alarm to a smart device very adjacent to the people. In addition, through the analysis of the experimental results, a plan to effectively apply the proposed fire alarm system according to the characteristics of the indoor space was proposed.

  • 본 논문에서는 신호 시제 논리 명세를 통하여 민방위 경보음을 정형적으로 명세한다. 논리를 기반으로 한 정형 명세는 비정형 명세에 비하여 분명하고, 간결하며, 기계처리가 가능한 이점을 제공한다. 민방위 경보음에 대한 시간의 흐름에 따른 주파수의 변화를 그래프로 그린 후에 이를 신호시제 논리로 명세하고자 한다.

  • 현대 기술의 발전에 따라 다양한 항해 장비들이 개발되고 있으나, 인적 오류에 의한 해양사고는 지속적으로 발생하고 있다. 인적 오류에 의한 해양사고는 항해사의 상황 인지오류 또는 현상 착각 등 많은 상황에서 일어나고 있다. 선교에는 각종 항해 장비로부터 나오는 많은 물리적 음향 신호들이 존재하며, 위험을 전파하는 경보음은 항해사에게 위험상황을 정확하게 전달하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 경보음을 항해사가 직관적으로 인지할 수 있는 선교경보관리시스템의 경보음 개발을 위한 연구를 실시하였다. 연구를 위해 기존에 선교에서 사용하는 경보음에 대해 음향학적 분석을 수행하였으며, 음성 경보음과 청각아이콘을 활용한 경보음 개발에 대한 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 그리고 현재 해양연구원에서 제작한 선교경보관리시스템(BAMS)을 간략히 소개하고자 한다.

Video Flame Detection with Periodicity Analysis Based False Alarm Rejection (주기 신호 검출을 통한 거짓 경보 제거 기능을 갖춘 비디오 화염 감지 기법)

  • A video flame detection method analyze the temporal and spatial characteristics of the regions which have the flame-like color and moving objects in the input video. The video flame detector should be able to reduce a false alarm rate without the degradation of flame detection capability. The conventional methods can reject the false alarm caused by the car lights and some electric lights. However they make the false alarm caused by the warning lights, neon sign, and some periodic flickering lights which have the flame-like color and temporal features. This paper propose the video flame detection method with periodicity analysis based false alarm rejection. The proposed method can detect the periodicity of the flickering electric lights and can reject the false alarm caused by the periodic electric lights. The computer simulation showed that the proposed method did not make the false alarm in the test video with the periodic electric lights. But the conventional methods made a false alarm in the same test video.

  • 본 연구에서는 경보에 관한 지식을 획득하는 방법으로 경보간의 논리적 물리적 상관관계를 평가하여 지식구조를 설정하는 방법을 사용하고 있다. 이 지식구조를 지식기반으로 추론하여 주어진 상황에서 필요 없는 경보를 제거하거나 억제하며, 표시된 경보에 대해서도 운전원 조치의 긴급성을 운전상황에 따라 평가하여 우선순위를 동적으로 표시하는 지식기반 다이나믹 경보처리기술을 개발한다. 이를 위해 경보 운전절차서에 나타난 개별 경보들 중에서 주요계통경보들을 운전모드별로 분류하고, 연동신호에 의한 경보와 물리적인 원인-결과의 연동관계의 경보로 평가, 분석하여, 설정된 경보처리기술의 적용가능성을 평가하기 위해 가상 시나리오를 개발하고, 예비 prototype을 구현하였다.

  • 전력계통 운용시 고장이 발생하면 계통 운전원은 계전기 및 차단기 관련 동작정보 및 경보로부터 해당 고장내용을 판단하고 계통복구를 위한 조작을 행한다. 본 논문에서는 현재 건설중인 양성자가속기 연구센터의 전력 계통 운용시 발생한 고장에 따른 다중경보신호를 분석하기 위하여 전력계통의 고장영역별로 동작하는 보호계전기 신호, 차단기 신호 및 경보신호를 분류함으로써 이를 향후 전력계통 운용시 고장진단을 위한 기초자료로 활용하고자 한다.

  • Personnel maintaining or repairing the railway tracks or signaling device around tracks may experience the sensory disorder when they do routine works for many hours and they may not recognize the leading to train accidents. In order to prevent such train accidents that may occur because railway track workers are unable to recognize the approaching train, a safety-equipment is developed to make the approaching train send signals. We developed the new alarm equipment for protection of trackside maintenance workers using radio signals.
