서울ㆍ경기지역은 한반도의 서부중앙지역으로 동경 126$^{\circ}$와 127$^{\circ}$, 북위 36$^{\circ}$와 38$^{\circ}$ 사이에 위치해 있으며, 면적은 서울 605$\textrm{km}^2$, 경기도 10,184$\textrm{km}^2$를 차지한다. 북쪽으로는 휴전선, 서쪽으로는 서해, 동쪽으로는 강원도, 남쪽으로는 충청도와 접하고 있으며 한강에 의해 남북지역으로 나뉘어져 한 수 이북은 산간지역이 한 수 이남지역에는 평야지대가 발달하고 있다. 지형은 대체로 추가령 구조곡을 경계로 북부산지와 남부산지로 나누어지는데, 북부는 중국 요동방향의 마식령산맥, 남부는 중국방향의 광주산맥과 차령산맥이 각각 그 골간을 이루고 있으며, 서쪽해안에 가까워질수록 고도가 낮아져 평야나 구릉성 산지로 바뀐다.(중략)

지구의 온난화 특히, 도심지의 동절기 기온상승 등으로 난.온대 수종들의 식재 북방한계가 올라가고 있으므로 이제는 중부권지역에서도 남부수종의 활용이 가능하다고 본다. 따라서 본인은 오래전부터 서울경기지역 조경관련 지인들에게 몇몇 남부수종의 식재를 권유해 오고 있으며 중부권에 남부수종을 식재하기 위해서는 기술적인 연구와 검토가 사전에 필요하고 세심하고 철두철미한 준비가 뒷받침 되어야 하므로 지금까지의 경험상을 토대로 남부수종에 관한 소개와 몇 가지 참고사항을 전하고자 한다.

이 글은 강원남부 탄광지역의 쇠퇴와 인구사회학적 변동 양상을 검토하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 우선 탄광지역의 특성을 살펴보고 탄광지역이 쇠퇴하게 된 원인을 규명하고자 한다. 그 다음으로 지역사회에 나타나고 있는 산업구조와 인구구조의 변화를 중점적으로 살피고자 한다. 연구 결과 태백지역이 쇠퇴하게 된 직접적인 요인은 석탄산업 합리화 정책의 시행으로 볼 수 있다. 이와 함께 태백지역은 탄광산업이 지역성장이 유일한 원동력이었다는 사실 즉, 탄광산업의 쇠퇴는 바로 이 지역의 급격한 경기침체와 인구유출의 직접적인 원인이 되었음을 알 수 있다. 급격한 경기침체는 산업구조의 변화에서 잘 드러나고 있으며 인구유출 양상은 지역의 인구변화 추이에서 잘 드러나고 있다. 최근 폐광지역개발지원특별법에 의해 수립된 종합개발계획도 상당 부분 무산되거나 기약 없이 미뤄지고 있다는 점과 지역개발을 강원랜드 카지노에만 지나치게 의존하고 있는 문제점 등이 드러나면서 지역경기 침체와 인구감소 추세는 계속되고 있다. 탄광지역의 주민소득 증대는 물론 새로운 고용창출로 지역경제를 활성화시키는 보다 구체적이고 실질적인 발전 전략이 필요하다.

This study analyzed the characteristics of spaces to and from which middle school students transfer, especially centering around the school districts of Southern area in Gyeonggi Province such as Suwon, Osan, Yongin, and Hwaseong. This study was conducted to provide the suggestions regarding educational policies such as the positioning to appropriate school districts, improving of educational environment, and implementing of educational equity, by analyzing, based on the empirical data, the educational spaces of four cities showing rapid population growth due to recent suburbanization. The characteristics of distribution of variables such as schools for each district affecting the student transfer, housing development, and socioeconomics in the research object region are mainly analyzed through the correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and cluster analysis. As a result, there is shown a distinct spatial difference between school districts of the cty downtown and urban fringe, and between school districts of the conventional cities(cities that have been from the past: note of translator) and new land development regions. First, the school districts in the city downtown showed lots of transfers between neighboring school districts, while the school districts in the urban fringes showed transfer-out tendencies strongly. Second, it was the new land development regions where the transfer-in rate is the highest in the Southern area of Gyeonggi Province. Third, the said new land development regions required the supply of educational installations and educational support that can meet educational demands, since these regions have relatively lower qualitied educational environments compared to the conventional cities where the fluidity of students is lower. Fourth, in the summary of all of the said three results, the student transfer in the southern area of Gyeonggi Province was shown in the spaces centering around the multi-core area by reflecting the restructuring of suburban area.

Morphological surveys of southern Gyeonggi Bay in the Yellow Sea were conducted for2 years (2006 and 2007) by using multibeam echosounder for investigating the morphological features of bedforms. The subaqueous dunes are shown in various shapes (A~F type) and continuous spectrum of heights and lengths of transverse-to-current dunes on the wide range of sedimentary types. The height-length power-law correlation of dunes is $H_{mean}=0.0393L^{0.8984}$ (r=0.66). The comparison between Flemming (1988)'s correlation and height-length correlation of this study indicates that the subaqueous dunes in the study area are equilibrated in the present hydrological and sedimentary environment. The major controlling factors to thedevelopment and maintenance of subaqueous dunes are both strong tidal currents and the abundant availability of sand. Marine sand mining, artificial impact, changes from the original shape to an irregular shape of the subaqueous dunes with a shorter wavelength and lower height, which has influence on the development and maintenance of bedform because it causes a decrease of the availability of sediment. Water depth and sedimentary characteristics, and othercontrolling factors seem to play limited roles in the development and maintenance of subaqueous dunes.

지난해, 극심한 아카시아 벌꿀 흉년으로 벗어나 평년작을 달성해 양봉농가의 시름을 덜었다 했다. 그러나 올해는 더욱 예측불가능해진 기상이변으로 2004년 수준의 대흉작이 예고 되고 있다. 남부지역은 극심한 봄 가뭄으로 아까시나무가 개화 하자마자 빠르게 시들어 버렸으며 가뭄현상이 비교적 약했던 경상 북부지역은 개화 후 큰 폭의 일교차로 꿀 생산량 감소했다. 중부 경기북부지역은 5월 아까시 꽃의 개화 후 잦은 비로 인해 아카시아 벌꿀생산량이 바닥을 보였다. 강원 일부 지역에서는 채밀을 전혀 못한 곳도 있어 심각한 수준이다. 여기에 잠잠해졌던 아까시 나무 황화현상까지 다시 번지고 있는 실정이다.
