The purpose of this study is to suggest improvement plan for a commentary on figure skating in Korea from comparing to NBCSN and MBC's coverage of the 2018 Pyungchang Olympic Games employing both of quantitative and text analysis. Results indicate that NBCSN and MBC's commentary on figure skating have definitely different characteristics in terms of expertise and dramatizing ability. The commentator of MBC frequently used monotonous and repetitive emotional expression and provided incoherent information in very automatic way. Whereas, NBCSN's comments expressed very diverse way on introduction of players, explanation of technique and evaluation, especially on dramatizing ability to contextualize combining players' performance and background information.

In baseball game, the hitting ability of batter is frequently assessed by a batting average, a run batted in, a home run, a run scored, an on-base percentage, etc. Recently, more comprehensive indicators such as OPS, ISO, SECA, TA, RC and XR are often used. But, these measures generally shows large deviations since they are calculated from the data for a certain period of time, and they are not an estimate of a population parameter, either. In this paper, we will presume the pure hitting ability of the korea professional baseball players as a parameter which is depend upon at bat. We will estimate the parameter by using the Bayesian method.

This study analyzed the effectiveness of visiting reading programs for vulnerable children, focusing on the case of libraries in A-si, Gyeonggi-do. Library A utilized a visiting teacher to deliver books that matched the children's levels and interests through non-face-to-face interactions, or to engage in face-to-face reading sessions and deliver books together. In 2022, a total of 158 individuals from 103 families participated in the program, with 103 individuals from 67 families delivering books and 55 individuals from 36 families engaging in book reading activities. Pre- and post-project surveys were conducted to assess the reading effects, and interviews were conducted with the visiting teachers. The analysis revealed that the level and interest of the children during book delivery and reading sessions were identified, and the effects of reading books with high levels of interaction were significant. Infants who were able to easily acquire reading experiences according to their age exhibited better reading effects compared to elementary school students. The program aimed at the new participant group showed slightly greater effectiveness than the group of continuing participants. Furthermore, following the implementation of the program, improvements were observed in reading interest, reading attitude, reading environment, reading interaction, self-esteem, social skills, language ability, reading proficiency, self-directed learning ability, and library utilization rate.

The purpose of this study was to explore players' perception and emotional reaction toward referee's judgment. The participants of this study were six players (three male and three female) in 2016 national team. The results of this study are as follows: First, the differences in referee judgement were dependant on referees' subjective view point, rapid judging capability, qualification and experience. Second, we found that the a referee's judgement less affected match's results. The countermeasures against the adverse referee judgment include excitement, appeal, flow interruption, thought conversion, and concentration. Third, there were many opinions that both the degree of influence of the referee's judgement and the countermeasures was such that athletes were "not affected". In conclusion, the major determinant of players' performance were game strategy and accuracy of skill although the referee's judgement affected player's emotional reaction both in positive and negative ways.

This paper studies the effects of global climate change on Gyeonggi Bay and appropriate adaptation strategies. Located along the west coast of Korea, Gyeonggi Bay is renowned as one of the five most important global tidal flats (wetlands). Due to climate change in Gyeonggi Bay, the water temperature is predicted to increase by 1.44 ℃ by the year 2100, the salinity to decrease by 1.1 PSU, the sea level to rise by 35.2 cm, and approximately 150.5 km² of the coast to be submerged due to the rising sea levels. Adaptation strategies to combat negative impacts of climate change on the ecological environment of Gyeonggi Bay include 1) supporting the self-adaptation capability of Gyeonggi Bay's natural environment to be sustainable, and 2) protecting lowlands adjacent to tidal flats and low-lying areas of the coast against human involvement to reserve more space for upslope shifts of biota with rising sea levels.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to estimate the needs of long-term care in S-city Gyeonggi-do according to ADL and IADL. Methods: We surveyed to investigate the needs of 397 study samples which had been selected by stratified randomized sampling, 2.7% in each Dong of S-city. We estimated the disability of elderly by using standards based on ADL and IADL of OECD and Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs. Results and Conclusions: According to standards of OECD, the elderly with severe disability were 4,712(31.2%). According to standards of Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs, the severe disabled elderly with helper were 3,776(24.9%) and the severe disabled elderly without helper 2,130(14.1%) So We concluded that the long-term care beds estimated by need were from 2,130 to 4,712. To estimate the long-term care beds, we have to consider together physical, mental, nutrition, and cognition status, existence of helper, helper characteristics, and emotional relationship between elderly and helper. But we considered only disability grades of physical states and existence of helper in this study. So it will be useful to conduct study to consider these other factors in future. At the same time this study is of value to estimate objectively long-term care needs based on physical needs in one region.

The aim of this study is to provide practical instances of implementing picture book reading sessions within school libraries to enhance language proficiency and foster emotional stability among lower-grade multicultural students hailing from foreign backgrounds. The research outlines the design and execution of a picture book reading program tailored for multicultural students, with analysis based on the outcomes of actual classroom implementations. In the course of the study, existing literature pertaining to the use of picture books for enhancing multicultural education and language skills was reviewed. This informed the development of a structured class procedure by extracting core components. Indeed, 43 multicultural students in five classes in the first and second grades of A Elementary School in Gyeonggi-do were given three pilot classes for each class for 20 weeks and a total of 100 picture book reading classes, each with 17 main lessons. This study establishes the positive impact of picture book reading classes on the Korean language comprehension of multicultural students. The results confirm positive improvements in students' ability to understand Korean, as evidenced by enhanced Korean expression and presentation skills, increased library usage, and a positive shift in classroom attitude. The procedure for reading picture books using school libraries proposed in this study was actually conceived and developed in the course of class operation in the school education field, reflecting the changes brought about by the increase of multicultural students and the need to improve the class environment. Through this practical investigation, important insights have been extracted regarding how picture book reading sessions designed for elementary school students from multicultural backgrounds can enhance the classroom environment and elevate learning outcomes.

This study is to suggest specialty contractors with countermeasures to construction orders falling off, one of the construction business indicators for the construction industry, by analyzing the impact of dwindling construction orders to business performance indicators of specialty contractors as well as identifying inter-relationships between those performance indicators. For specialty contractors of civil construction, it is analyzed that their current ratio is significantly affecting obtention of construction orders, which in turn greatly affecting the ratio of owner's equity. It seems that the amount of construction orders has a direct relationship with the corporate stability. Therefore, this type of specialty contractors are determined to be able to obtain more orders for construction by improving current ratio.
