The falciform ligament is a hepatic suspensory ligament that extends from the umbilicus to the diaphragm, containing the ligamentum teres and a vestigial remnant of the umbilical vein. Among the rarely-occurring pathologies of the falciform ligament, which include ligament cyst, tumor, abnormal vascularization, and congenital ligament defect, a falciform ligament abscess is even more sporadic. Accordingly, the definitive diagnosis of the falciform ligament abscess is rather challenging and may easily be misinterpreted as an infected choledochal cyst or a liver abscess. We present a 25-day-old infant with the falciform ligament abscess, which developed after the umbilical venous catheter insertion and was successfully treated with percutaneous drainage and antibiotic administration.

A 7-year-old castrated male Cocker spaniel dog was referred to Gyeongsang National University Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital with a severe abdominal distension. A huge, inhomogeneous fat opacity mass was identified on the abdomen radiographic survey. From the abdominal ultrasonographic examination, the mass was found to have irregular marginated hyperechoic capsule with cellular hypoechoic fluids inside. On the computed tomography, an encapsulated inhomogeneous mass was identified with fat attenuation peripheral and soft tissue attenuation inside. The origin of the mass was confirmed as falciform fat by surgical excision. The resected mass appeared to be a firm reddish-brown color with a smooth surface. The histopathological appearance was a well-differentiated liporsarcoma. The patient has no recurrent signs 1 month after surgery.

5 years Poodle was referred to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Chonnam National University in January 1997, with progressive swelling on the rear xiphoid process after cesarean section last year in local-vet clinic. Physical, radiographic, ultrasonographic and intraoperative findings that were obtained from this case were as follow; Physical findings were known as no pain, no fever in the hernia] sal at palpation. Radiographic findings revealed the decreased density of swelling contents more than peritoneum and did not identify the abdominal wall defect line. Ultrasonographic findings showed abdominal wall defect line of 3mm and intra-abdominal originated fat contents with mixed echo(hypoechoic). During the operation, falciform ligament into the hernial sac was observed and not excised, manipulated back into the cavity. The dog was given an herniorraphy with no recurrence and infection.

Objectives : Primo vascular system is known to new circulatory system and suggested as a anatomical structure of meridian system. Primo-vessels are present throughout the whole body. The purpose of this study is to identify primo tissues taken from falciform ligament and to compare with organ surface primo tissue, blood vessel and lymph vessel. Methods : Male Sprague-Dawley rats (8weeks old, 250~320g) used for this study. The medial line of the abdomen was dissected and searched for primo tissues in falciform ligament and on the internal organs using stereomicroscope. We performed serial cross section and histological investigations. The tissues were stained with hematoxylin-eosin and Masson's trichrome. Results : 1. The primo tissues attached on the falciform ligament had white color and length of 5~8mm. 2. We could observe primo tissues are classified with ligament tissues. 3. Histologically, primo tissue on falciform ligament and organ surface primo tissue could be considered same tissue. Conclusions : In this study, we observed primo tissue discovered on the falciform ligament. And we also histologically compared such discovered primo tissue with organ surface primo tissue. Consequently, we could consider that two tissues have histological similarity and possibility of connection in one network system.

두개골과 신장에 골스캔재제의 미만성 섭취증가를(Hot Skull, Hot Kidney) 항암제투여를 받은 4례의 암환자와 검상적혈구 빈혈환자에서 발견하여 추적 관찰하였다. Hot Kidney는 항암제 투여후 관찰되어 항암제투여를 중단한 후 소실되었으나, Hot Skull은 항암제 투여와 관계없이 시간이 경과함에 따라 변화가 없거나 점차 진전되었다. 겸상적혈구 빈혈환자 1례에서 두개골, 신장, 비장에 증가된 섭취를 보였고 30개월동안 추적관찰하였으나 섭취정도에 변화가 없었다. 결론적으로 항암제의 투여는 골스캔재제의 신장섭 취를 증가시키나 두개골 섭취에는 영향을 미치지 않은 것으로 관찰되었다.

A new measuring system for ultrasonic spectroscopy was constructed, utilizing PVDF [poly(vinylidene fluoride)] polymer films as wideband transducers. In a test of its performance, this measuring system was successfully applied to study of the nematic-isotropic phase transition in MBBA(p-methoxybenzylidene-p-n-butylan iline) liquid crystal. We could be confirmed that the phase transition in MBBA is $47^{\circ}C$, which is agree with the exciting optical method. The dependence of frequency on the phase transition was not observed, and but Maximum ultrasonic amplitude is measured for the resonance frequency 2MHz in PVDF transducers, These results shows that the spectroscopy with PVDF transducers takes advantage of studying the transient phenomena. When our apparatus is applied in medical purposes, It will be possible diagnostic for sickle-cell anemia and arterial sclerosis.

This study attempted to concider the morphological change of red blood cells after whole body irradiation. Blood samples used red blood cells of white mice and mouse after irradiation. Transmission electron microscope observation results, Anisocytosis was observed in red blood cells 20 days after 5 Gy irradiation. Triangle and tetrapod were observed for small red blood cell types. Poikilocytosis, sickle-shaped Drepanocyte, and Acantocyte were observed in general-sized red blood cells. Schizocyte was observed in red blood cells 20 days after 7 Gy irradiation. Scanning electron microscope observation results, Dacryocyte was observed with microcytes. It was also confirmed that red blood cells were get tangled with each other. In addition, polygonal shapes and half-moon shapes were also observed. In conclusion, it is judged that the modified form of pathological study is more important than the numerical change in the study of red blood cells by radiation exposure. In conclusion, it was confirmed that modified morphological studies are more important than numerical changes in the study of red blood cells by radiation exposure.

There are few reports of the pleuropulmonary involvement of a non-typhi Salmonella infection in immunocompromised patients with AIDS, malignancy, collagen vascular diseases, extended use of corticosteroids, sickle cell disease, or diabetes. We report a case of a non-immunocompromised patient who presented with concomitant empyema and mediastinitis due to Salmonella without a comorbid disease. A 26-year-old male patient, with a history of pneumonia 5 years earlier and having lived abroad for several years, presented chronic cough and febrile sensation. Pneumonia, empyema and mediastinitis were noted in a chest CT scan and Salmonella enteritidis and ${\beta}-hemolytic$ streptococcus were identified from a culture of the pleural fluid. Initially, he was treated with cefepime, metronidazole and clarithromycin. He was cured clinically and radiographically after an 8 week treatment with antibiotics. In conclusion, this report suggests that S. enteritidis can cause empyema and mediastinitis, albeit rarely.

This study interprets the corporate social responsibility and its management through analysis of philosophical view of Mozi(墨子). Mozi was a chinese philosopher during the Hundred Schools of Thought period. He advocated Universal love(兼愛), which stresses that people should care for everyone equally. This principle is in accord with the sustainable management strategy for global market environments. The realization of the value that the company pursues in the rapid growth of such enterprises is an important issue. The pursuit of corporate value in its own interest under the rapidly changing business environment is perceived very negative. And it has demanded a different philosophy as a new management philosophy. The philosophical strategies of these companies were centered around the core philosophy of the ancient Chinese philosopher, Mozi. It is not merely an outcome approach as the act or moral principle but the inner motive to love each other and the principle of sharing the profits of each other. In order to pursue the sustainable value of the enterprise, We would like to suggest a way to pursue the existing absolute value, and to suggest a philosophical strategy based on the philosophy of Mozi.

In this paper, the ideological features of Mohism were examined through the analysis into the viewpoint of Mohism on justice and benefit and "universal love" based on it. Even before the viewpoint on justice and benefit became a main agenda in Confucianism, Mohism and the Hundred Schools of Thought, there had been discussions on it, and the relation between "justice" and "benefit" was generally understood as that of means and ends(本末) or that of the thing and its functions(體用). What succeeded to this tendency and set it as an individual's moral standard was the viewpoint of Confucianism including Confucius. Of course, the Confucian view was focused on the politicians or leaders of those times. Compared to which, Mohism represented the stance of their group members and pursued the interest of groups and the society rather than that of individuals. Accordingly, while Confucianism considered "justice" more important than "benefit", Mohism could understand both of them unificatively. The crucial reason why Mohism could be most active during the Warring States Period is that it had its metaphysical basis on "the disposition of Providence." Accompanying this, the viewpoint of Mohism on justice and benefit was internally reflected in its key arguments including "universal love." That is so-called "Jianxiangai, Jiaoxiangli", that is to say, "that loving each other is namely benefiting each other." On the other hand, the fact that the viewpoint of Mohism on justice and benefit, and furthermore, the ideological foundation of its ten main arguments including universal love was "the disposition of Providence" became a double-edged sword. It was because it could be easily accepted by the laborers, farmers, and craftsmen consisting of Mohism of those times, but it instead became the reason for falling into ruins since the establishment of the feudal empire of Qin and Han(秦漢). In the feudal empire, the ideology and activities of Mohism as an individual group couldn't be embraced. For example, the way to set "Heaven"(the heavenly king) above "the sovereign ruler" might be a decisive limit to the legitimacy and rationality of the regime. Moreover, the arguments by Mohism, such as "Jieyong", "Jiezang", "Feiyue" and others couldn't be taken easily by the privileged class. Therefore, Mohism couldn't do any activities as an academic school until Seojedongjeom(西勢東漸) during the Qing dynasty later, and it was different from Confucianism. In brief, ideas of Mohism including universal love ended up as an utopian idea historically, but the conception of sharing mutual interest along with mutual love and consideration with Confucianism from the position of the relatively disadvantaged in the society has a value worthy of being appreciated even today.
