If we use the microwave of SAR, we can observe on the ocean in spite of bad weather, day and night time. Sea surface images on the ocean of SAR have a lot of information on the atmospheric phenomena related to surface wind vector. Information of wind speed which is extracted from SAR images is used variously. Wind direction data and sigma nought value are put in the CMOD which can extract wind information in order to estimate sea surface wind from SAR images. Wind spectrum which is extracted from SAR always presents opposed two points of $180^{\circ}$ because of applying to 2D-FFT. These ambiguities should be decided by position of land, wind direction or numerical model. Previously, we converted into sigma nought after extracting Digital Number from RadarSat-1 SAR using ENVI4.0, thus, it took a long time because every process was manual. Therefore, we converted sigma nought by matlab code after making matlab code. After that, we are extracting wind direction from sigma nought. Now, to decide wind direction needs further study because wind direction has $180^{\circ}$ ambiguity.

To investigate concentration and sources of PCDD/Fs and Co-PCBs in sediments, total 52 sediment samples were measured at 17 sites in Geum River. As a result of analysis, total concentrations of PCDD/Fs and Co-PCBs were ranged from not detected (N.D.)~193.47 pg/g-d.w. (mean value: 84.52 pg/g-d.w) and 0.34~359.19 pg/g-d.w (mean value: 114.65 pg/g-d.w.) respectively. Also, toxic equivalent (TEQ) concentration of PCDD/Fs and Co-PCBs were ranged from N.D.~5.12 (mean value: 0.88) pg I-TEQ/g-d.w and N.D.~0.58 (mean value: 0.09) $WHO_{2005}$-TEQ pg/g-d.w. respectively. The upstream indicate the highest concentration and as it goes to the downstream, it has tendency to decrease. Higher chlorinated compounds were dominant in most of site which detected PCDD/Fs. Occurrence of Co-PCBs isomer patterns appear similar to each sampling site was found. The isomer patterns showed similar between sediment and PCB products. The principal component analysis also showed that the samples contained the characteristics of PCBs products.

Market analysis for a business plain is required for the success in the modern world. Most important part in this analysis is pedestrian traffic counting. A traditional way for this is counting it in person. However, it causes high labor costs and mistakes. This paper proposes an automatic algorithm to measure the pedestrian traffic count using images with webcam. The proposed algorithm is composed of two parts: pedestrian area detection and movement tracking. In pedestrian area detection, moving blobs are extracted and pedestrian areas are detected using HoG features and Adaboost algorithm. In movement tracking, multi-level matching and false positive removal are applied to track pedestrian areas and count the pedestrian traffic. Multi-level matching is composed of 3 steps: (1) the similarity calculation between HoG area, (2) the similarity calculation of the estimated position with Kalman filtering, and (3) the similarity calculation of moving blobs in the pedestrian area detection. False positive removal is to remove invalid pedestrian area. To analyze the performance of the proposed algorithm, a comparison is performed with the previous human area detection and tracking algorithm. The proposed algorithm achieves 83.6% accuracy in the pedestrian traffic counting, which is better than the previous algorithm over 11%.
Recently high spatial resolution space-borne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) systems have launched and have been operated successfully. Interferometric SAR (InSAR) processing with the space-based high resolution observations acquired by these systems can provide more detail information for various geodetic applications. Coherence is regarded as a critical parameter in the evaluating the quality of an InSAR pair. In this study, we evaluate the coherence characteristics of high-resolution data acquired by TerraSAR-X (X-band) and ALOS PALSAR (L-band) and intermediate-resolution data acquired by Envisat ASAR (C-band) over western Texas, U.S.A. Our coherence analysis reveals that the high-resolution X-band TSX (3.1 cm) data has a high coherence level (0.3-0.6), similar to that of the L-band ALOS PALSAR data (23.5 cm) in short temporal baselines. Further more, the TSX coherence values are significantly higher than those of the C-band (5.6 cm) Envisat ASAR data. The higher coherence of the TSX dataset is a surprising result, because common scattering theories suggest that the longer wavelength SAR data maintain better coherence. In vegetated areas the shorter wavelength radar pulse interacts mostly with upper sections of the vegetation and, hence, does not provide good correlation over time in InSAR pairs. Thus, we suggest that the higher coherence values of the TSX data reflect the data's high-resolution, in which stable and coherent scatters are better maintained. Although, however, the TSX data show a very good coherence with short temporal baseline (11-33 days), the coherences are significantly degraded as the temporal baselines are increased. This result confirms previous studies showing that the coherence has a strong dependency on the temporal baseline.
From January 1990 through December 1995, 43 patients underwent diaphragmatic plication for the management of phrenic nerve palsy .complicating various pediatric cardiovascular surgery. Their mean age at plication was 11.1 months and sex ratio was 31 males to 12 females. In order of decreasing incidence, the primary cardiovascular procedures included modified Blalock-Taussig shunt (7), total correction for the Tetralogy of Falloff (7), arterial switch operation (6), unifocalization for the pulmonary atresia with VSD (3), modified Fontan operation (3), VSD patch closure (3) and others. The involved sides of diaphragm were right in 17, left in 2) and bilateral in 3. Extensive pericardial resection with electocauterization of resected margin was thought to be the most common cause of phrenic nerve palsy (20). The interval between primary operation and plication ranged from the day of operation to 98 days (median 11 days). The methods of plication were central pleating technique(plication with phrenic nerve branch preservation) in 41, and other technique In 2. 10 patients died after plication (7: early, 3; late), and the causes of death were thought to be unrelated to plication itself. Among the 36 early survivors, extubation or cessation of positive pressure ventilation could be accomplished between 1 and 24 days postoperatively(mean : 4.5). Cumulative follow-up was 92 patient years without major complications. Postoperative follow-up fluoroscopy was performed in 6 patients, and the location and movement of plicated diaphragms were satisfactory in 5 patients. We concluded that diaphragmatic plication with preservation of phrenic n rve branch could lead to cessation of positive pressure ventilation and complete recovery of diaphragmatic function in the long term, unless the phrenic nerve was irreversibly damaged.
Mean values and the relative contribution of OM and clay to total CEC for soil textural classes were obtained from the analytical results of the typical profiles(sample size : 3,182) which were described by the detailed soil maps througthout Korea with an exception of Jeju island. The results are below. 1. Mean values of the soil CEC were 2.9 for S, 4.7 for LS, 6.7 for SL, 9.0 for L, 10.2 for SiL, 10.7 for CL, 8.6 for SCL, 12.2 for SiCL, 16.1 for SiC, and 17.4me/100gr for C, respectively. 2. The multiple regression equation and partial regression coefficient tended to show that OM and clay had the highly significant effect on CEC. 3. Clay content of the coarse, moderately coarse, and moderately fine soil was 1.10 to 1.89 times as important as OM content whereas OM of the medium and fine soil 1.09 to 2.94 times as important as clay in predicting CEC. 4. Mean values of CEC of the humus and clay in Korean soils were about 62.9 and 24.0me/100gr, respectively.

A Service Area plays an important role in preventing accidents in advance by creating a space for long distance drivers or drowsy drivers to rest. Therefore, proper positioning of the expressway service area is essential, and it is important to analyze accurate demand forecasting and user travel behavior. Thus, this study analysis travel behavior and developed odel of the probability of using the service area by using the DSRC data collected by the RSE on the highway. According to the analysis, the usage behavior of highway service areas was most frequently when travel time was 90 minutes or more on weekdays and 70 minutes or more on weekends. The utilization rate of the service area estimated from the probability model of use of the rest area in this study was 1 % to 2 % error. The results of this study are meaningful in analyzing the behavior of the use of rest areas using the structured data and can be used as a differentiated strategy for selecting the location of rest areas and enhancing the service level of users.
Optimal orthodontic treatment could be possible when a orthodontist can predict and control tooth movement by applying a planned force system to the dentition. The moment to force(M/F) ratio at the bracket, has been shown to be a primary determinate of the pattern of tooth movement. As various n/F ratios are applied to the bracket on the tooth crown, strain distribution in periodontium can be changed, and the center of rotation in tooth movement can be determined. It is, therefore, so important in clinicalorthodontics to know the strain distribution in a force system of a M/F ratio. The purpose of this study was to analyze the strain distribution in orthodontic force system by strain gauge attached to tooth root, and to evaluate the usage of the method. For this study, an experimental upper anterior arch model was constructed, where upper central incisors, on the root surface of which, 8 strain gauges were attached, were implanted In the photoelastic resin, as in the case of 4mm midline diastema. Three types of closing of upper midline diastema closure were compared : 1. with elastomeric chain(100g force) in no arch wire, 2. elastomeric chain in .016“ round steel wire, 3. elastomeric chain in .016”x.022“ rectangular steel wire. The results were as follows. 1. Strain distributions on labial, lingual, mesial and distal root surface of tooth were able to be evaluated with the strain gauge method, and the patterns of tooth rotation were understood by presuming the location of moment arm. 2. Extrusion and tipping movement of tooth was seen in closing in no arch wire, and intrusion and bodily movement was seen with steel arch wire inserted.
This study estimates geomorphological processes of fluvial terraces by uplifts and bedrock features, by the analyses of topography, distribution, formation age and incision rate of fluvial terraces using Gwang-cheon River in Uljin, Namdae-cheon River in Pyeonghae and Osip-cheon River in Yeongdeok located in the southern Taebaek Mountain Range. The tectonic and climatic terraces I in the upper reaches of Gwang-cheon River with an altitude from riverbed of 9~12m indicate the formation age of MIS 2 with a incision rate of 0.40m/ka. However, the tectonic and climatic terraces I in the upper reaches of Osip-cheon River with an altitude from riverbed of 7~10m show the formation age of MIS 3 with an incision rate of 0.10m/ka. These results suggest that the uplift rate in the Gwang-cheon River basin is likely to be higher than that in the Osip-cheon River basin. Unlike the lower reaches of Osip-cheon River, the thalassostatic terraces are not found in the lower reaches of Gwang-cheon River, because the basin has low maintainable ability of landforms in river valley due to high uplift rate and bedrock properties resistant to weathering and erosion. On the other hand, the lowest tectonic and climatic terraces in the study areas indicate different formative ages and the terraces during the cooling stage in interglacial as well as during interstadial are also found. Therefore, this study suggests that chronological method for fluvial terrace by the previous developmental model of climatic terrace should be reconsidered.
For the investigation of seasonal fluctuation of immature (lavae and pupae) beanfly, infestation rates, and habit, several soybean-cultivars were planted at Kumgok Experiment Farm of KAERI by three different planting times at 25-day intervals. Infestation rates of beanflies were ranged from $85\%\;to\;100\%$ in accordance. with the planting dates, where an increase in infestation rate was found with delay in planting dates. Immature beanflies were already observed from lune 20 by plant dissection counts. Three peaks of the seasonal fluctuation of lava were shown by occurring on July 10, August 10 and 50 during the soybean cultivation, while two peaks of pupal appearances were found. The most high peaks of lavae and pupae occurred on August 10 and 30, respectively. The lava were habitable in the pith or cortex tissue of soybean stem. They prepared tiny hole on the axilla as well as the internode of stem, and then they pupated in the holes from which the adults are able to escape. Immature beanfly seemed to prefer invading to the underground part of the stem when the soybean plants were in young stage.
