Design Framework for Math Educational Serious game Based on Cognitive Psychology (인지 심리적 모형을 기반으로 한 초등 수학 교육용 기능성게임 디자인 설계전략)

  • The interests of education methods using Serious games have been increasing recently. But resu,lt-oriented game design framework have not been reflected intrinsic motivation. To increase usage of educational serious game as resource, it is needed game design framework for providing the immersion and collaborative active learning that cognitive Psychologic theories recommend. By outlining the background of the serious game design framework and exemplifying its use, a constructive structure to examine purposed based games is introduced.

  • 본 논문에서는 수준차가 심한 다인수 학급 체제에서 STS 학습의 한계점을 살펴보고, 한계점을 보완할수 있는 롤플레잉에듀게임을 설계하고 구현하였다. 학습자들이 시간과 공간의 제약을 받지 않고 롤플레잉 에듀게임에 참여하도록 함으로써 문제해결력을 비롯한 학습목표 도달 가능성을 높이고, 이들의 과학 학습에 대한 흥미와 관심 및 자신감, 성취동기 등을 높일 수 있도록 과학과 STS 학습에 적용 가능한 개선방안을 제안하였다.

Developing & Applying a Template-based Game-type Learning Contents Authoring Tool (템플릿 기반 게임형 학습콘텐츠 저작 도구의 구현 및 적용)

  • Recently, there has been much research to improve immersiveness and learning achievement using the edutainment that combines learning with game. However, from the viewpoint of instructors, there has been little research to solve technical difficulties and to reduce the authoring time in tailoring a game-type learning content. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an authoring tool, which enable instructors to tailor game-type learning contents reflecting their own preferences in spite of no backgrounds of technical skills. The authoring tool proposed has key features to hide authoring handicaps and reduce authoring time by providing the overall template for customized game-type learning contents based on template concept. To evaluate the effectiveness of the authoring tool, we applied it to teachers and elementary school students. From the evaluation, the result represented that instructors can make their own learning contents without being aware of technical problems within a short time. Also, the result showed that the learning achievement degree and immersive depth of students have been significantly improved.

  • The world is changing fast from the information society to the knowledge society as the amount of knowledge exploded over through development of the information communication technology. In this situation, mobile learning based on the mobile devices (PDAs, Cellular phone, Tablet PC, etc) offers the opportunity to assist each individual and group to learn anytime, anywhere. The purpose of this study is to discuss development direction of game styled contents for mobile learning. we introduce the development direction and prototypes of mobile learning contents focused on game-styled activities as the alternative to make up for the weak points of the mobile devices.

  • Kodu made by MS is a new 3D visual programming language made specifically for creating games. This language is based on creativity, problem-solving methods, and storytelling. So, it is very suitable for game programming education for kids. In this paper, we designed learning method to develop games based on elementary school students' creative thinking. The instruction was given to 27 6-grade elementary school students in 30 hours. And we applied the learning method in class. Also, we analyzed the changes in the learners' creative thinking and the learning effects of game programming.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the educational effect of social studies lesson in elementary school using gamification. the social studies lesson using gamification was divided into an experimental group and a control group, and then the cognitive and affective areas were evaluated and their impressions of the lesson were investigated. the experimental group students who experienced the gamification class showed significant growth and change in social studies learning academic achievement, learning motivation, learning interest, and learning efficacy compared to the control group.

  • This paper presents an interactive educational game design procedure using the DGBL (Digital Game-based Learning) methodology that will help developers to design a multipurpose educational game. The DGBL consists of five stages, which are Analysis, Design, Development, Quality Assurance, and Implementation & Evaluation. This paper is focusing only on the specific technologies included in the Analysis and Design stages based on the DGBL. The first Analysis stage consists of gathering requirements, determining game ideation and learning objectives, and the second Design stage consists of defining the game architecture and database scheme. In this paper, we have designed a lecturers introduction game for a new student or freshmen as a case study to apply the Analysis and Design stages based on DGBL, as well as showing the prototype result in the form of a storyboard.

  • 최근 인공지능의 기법을 도입한 게임에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 특히 신경망의 역 전파 알고리즘을 적용한 게임은 구현이 용이하고 학습이 완료되면 비교적 실행이 빨라서 많은 연구가 진행되고 있지만 기본적인 학습시간이 길고 최적화에 관한 문제점이 존재하고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하고자 본 논문에서는 기존의 역 전파 알고리즘과 강화학습의 Q-learning알고리즘을 모델로 게임에 적용하여 비교 분석 하였다. 실험은 단순한 min-max 알고리즘과 각각 대결하여 승수 와 승율을 중심으로 비교하였고 실험의 결과는 강화학습의 알고리즘이 역 전파 알고리즘에 비하여 비교적 우수한 결과를 제시하였다.

  • 최근 현대 사회에 '가상현실'개념이 도입됨에 따라 '가상현실'기술이 적용된 게임 콘텐츠들이 활성화되고 있는 추세이다. 이와 더불어 기존의 GUI와 NIUI에서 발전된 새로운 인터페이스로 텐저블 인터페이스(Tangible Interface)가 급부상하면서 관련 인터페이스를 활용한 연구 또한 필요한 시점이며, 이를 기반으로 하여 '가상현실'기술과 텐저블 인터페이스를 융합한 새로운 게임 콘텐츠를 제안을 하고자 '가상현실' 기기를 활용한 텐저블 인터페이스 기반의 학습용 Unity 3D 게임 콘텐츠를 제작하였다.

  • 비디오 강의를 활용한 온라인 학습은 교육 효과를 높이는 무한한 가능성을 가지고 있지만 온라인에서 학습자 주도로 이루어지기 때문에 학습 동기를 높이고 온라인 강의에 집중시킬 수 있는 도구의 개발이 필요하다. 또한 교수자는 온라인 환경 안에서 학습자가 실제로 학습을 수행했는지에 대한 여부를 쉽게 파악할 수 있는 도구의 개발이 필요하다. 본 논문은 학습자와 교수자의 요구를 만족 시킬 수 있는 단어게임 기반의 온라인 비디오 학습 자동 판단 시스템을 개발하였고, 시스템 검증을 위해 343명의 학습자를 대상으로 사용자 만족도 설문조사를 수행하였다. 설문 결과, 83%의 시스템 용이성, 73%의 시스템 만족도로 긍정적인 결과를 보였다.
