An Approximate Shapiro -Wilk Statistic for Testing Multivariate Normality (다변량 정규성검정을 위한 근사 SHAPIRO-WILK 통계량의 일반화)

  • In this paper, we generalizes Kim and Bickel(2003)'s statistic for bivariate normality to that of multinormality, applying Fattorini(1986)'s method. Fattorini(1986) generalized Shapiro-Wilk's statistic for univariate normality to multivariate cases. The proposed statistic could be considered as an approximate statistic to Fattorini(1986)'s. It can be used even for a big sample size. Power performance of the proposed test is assessed in a Monte Carlo study.

A Monte Carlo Comparison of the Small Sample Behavior of Disparity Measures (소표본에서 차이측도 통계량의 비교연구)

  • There has been a long debate on the applicability of the chi-square approximation to statistics based on small sample size. Extending comparison results among Pearson chi-square Χ$^2$, generalized likelihood .ratio G$^2$, and the power divergence Ι(2/3) statistics suggested by Rudas(1986), recently developed disparity statistics (BWHD(1/9), BWCS(1/3), NED(4/3)) we compared and analyzed in this paper. By Monte Carlo studies about the independence model of two dimension contingency tables, the conditional model and one variable independence model of three dimensional tables, simulated 90 and 95 percentage points and approximate 95% confidence intervals for the true percentage points are obtained. It is found that the Χ$^2$, Ι(2/3), BWHD(1/9) test statistics have very similar behavior and there seem to be applcable for small sample sizes than others.

  • 확률밀도함수의 적합도 검정을 위한 새로운 검정 통계량을 소개하고 커널확률밀도함수 추정량을 이용한 제안된 검정 통계량의 점근 정규성을 규명하였다. 제안된 통계량과 콜모고르프-스미르노프 통계량과의 소표본 모의 실험비고를 통하여 제안된 통계량의 우수성을 입증하였다.

  • The test of transition probabilities in panel Markov chains are introduced. We deal with the hypotheses whether panel Markov chains have the same transition probabilities or not for all times. We suggest a LR test statistic for the test and its limit distribution is derived. We perform a simulation study to examine the limit distribution of test statistics when the number of the individuals are large.

  • There have been a great deal of interests in comparing two survival distributins in clinical trials. This paper compares some well-known statistical methods for testing the equality of two survival distributions. Simulation studies also provide some insights into the properties of these test statistics across several types of survival distributions and degrees of censorship.

  • 정규분포에 대한 적합도 검정은 실제적인 측면이나 이론적인 측면에서 그 중요성을 무시할 수 없다. 본 연구에서는 이변량 정규분포의 적합도 검정을 위한 통계량을 제안하였다. 주요 아이디어는 모든 가능한 이변량 분포의 선형조합을 고려하여, 그 선형조합이 순서통계량을 이론적인 분위수와 비교하는 것이다. 또한 제안된 통계량의 극한분포가 Gaussian process의 적분의 형태로 표시될 수 있음을 보였다.

  • Recent]y van Es (1992) and Correa (1995) proposed an estimator of entropy. In this paper, we proposed the goodness of fit test statistics for exponentiality based on Vasicek's estimator and Correa's estimator of Kullback-Leibier Information. And we compare the power of the proposed test statistics with Kolmogorov-Sminov, Kuiper, Cramer von Mises, Watson, Andersen-Darling and Finkelstein and Schefer statistics.

Q-Q, P-P 플롯의 변동 통계량에 대한 ROC 분석

  • 정규분포에 관한 검정에 있어서 P-P 플롯과 Q-Q 플롯의 가시적인 변동을 이용한 통계량을 제시하고 이 통계량들과 Shapiro-Wilk의 W 통계량과의 비교를 정확도(accuracy)의 측면을 고려하여 실시하였다. 또한, 의학이나 임상에서 척도의 우수성을 검정하기 위해 많이 사용하는 Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) 분석 기법을 이용하여 제시된 통계량들에 관한 Power와 Accuracy는 물론 Best Cut-Off 측면에서의 효율성을 검정하였다.

Rank Transformation Technique in a Two-stage Two-level Balanced Nested Design (이단계 이수준 균형지분모형의 순위변환 기법연구)

  • In a two-stage two-level balanced nested design, type I error rates for the parametric tests and the rank transformed tests for the main effects and the nested effects are in overall similar to each other. Furthermore, powers for the rank transformed statistic for the main effects and the nested effects in a two-stage two-level balanced nested design are generally superior to powers for the parametric statistic When the effect size and the sample size are increased, we can find that powers increase for the parametric statistic and the rank transformed statistic are dramatically improved. Especially for the case of the fixed effects in the asymmetric distributions such as an exponential distribution, powers for the rank transformed tests are quite high rather than powers for the parametric tests.
