In this paper, performance evaluation of catalyst for hydrogen peroxide thruster with drying condition is described. Platinum was selected as a catalyst, and alumina of pellet type was chosen as a catalyst support. Evaporation method known as general method for catalyst production was used to make the catalyst. From previous experiments, it is favorable during catalyst making process that solution of active material has low pH level. Therefore, some kinds of low pH level solution had been tested. The drying temperatures are 25, 50, 70, and $90^{\circ}C$. From experimental results, it shows better performance that drying temperature was $90^{\circ}C$ since the catalyst particle could not be crystallized but be evenly spreaded out due to the rapid evaporation of solvent.

This experiment was conducted to establish the technology for artificial hay preparation in Korea. Using far-infrared heater, a device that can control temperature, airflow, and far-infrared radiation was produced and conducted on the fourth harvested alfalfa. The drying conditions were carried out by selecting a total of four conditions. For each condition, the radiation rate was set to around 40% (33-42%), and the temperature was set at 58~65℃, and the speed of the airflow was fixed at 60m/s. The overall drying time was set to 30 min in the single and 60 min (30-30 min) and 90 min (30-30-30 min) in the complex condition, and the radiation rate and temperature were changed by time period. In the case of drying condition 1, the final dry matter (DM) content was 46.26%, which did not reach a DM suitable for hay. However, all of the alfalfa corresponding to the remaining drying conditions 2 to 7 showed a DM content of 80% or more, resulting in optimal alfalfa hay production. In power consumption according to the drying conditions, the second drying condition showed the lowest at 4.7 KW, and the remaining drying conditions were as high as 6.5 to 7.1 KW. The crude protein content was found to be high at an average of 25.91% and it showed the highest content in the 5th drying condition (26.93%) and the lowest value in the 6th drying condition (25.16%). The digestibility showed a high value with an average of 84.90%, and there was no significant difference among treatments (p>0.05). Considering the above results, it was judged that drying condition 2 was the most advantageous.
The purpose of the present study is to provide preliminary data for turning sweetpotato leaves into dehydrated vegetables. To achieve this goal, we have gone through the process of hot-air drying the leaves of sweetpotato that are usually thrown away and examined the drying speed and rehydration resilience, then made a comparative analysis of the general ingredients, lutein, $\beta$-carotene and chromaticity. The drying speed reached the peak at a temperature of $70^{\circ}C$. As for other general ingredients, there was no significant difference according to temperature. The content of lutein, which is a functional ingredient, was large in Shinmi with $171.59{\mu}g/g$ at a temperature of $40^{\circ}C$; small in Hayanmi with $73.75{\mu}g/g$ at a temperature of $70^{\circ}C$. The content of $\beta$-carotene was large in Shinmi with $379.59{\mu}g/g$ at a temperature of $40^{\circ}C$; small in Hayanmi with $170.78{\mu}g/g$ at a temperature of $70^{\circ}C$. The content of functional materials was the largest at a temperature of $40^{\circ}C$, and decreased in the order of temperatures at $50^{\circ}C$, $60^{\circ}C$, and $70^{\circ}C$. As for rehydration stability, rehydration rate in both Shinmi and Hayanmi was the highest at a temperature of $40^{\circ}C$ with 233.93% and 223.47% respectively. To summarize, the quality of dried sweet potato leaf was more affected by temperature than by drying time, and low temperature drying resulted in better product value.
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of different steam condition and dehydration condition on physicochemical characteristics of Olbyeossal made from Waxy rice. All samples were steamed at $95-100^{\circ}C$ for 60 min or at $121^{\circ}C$ for 20 min and then were dehydrated using hot air 45, 60, $80^{\circ}C$ and sun-dried to achieve moisture contents 13-15%. Initial pasting temperature of Olbyeossal was the lower than that of nontreatment sample by parboiling. The combination in steaming $95-100^{\circ}C$ and hot drying at $45-60^{\circ}C$ was showed appropriate pasting properties compared with other condition. The hardness of Olbyeossal was significantly affected by steaming and dehydration condition. The hardness of Olbyeossal showed the higher value for steaming at $121^{\circ}C$ than $95-100^{\circ}C$. The water binding capacity (WBC) and swelling power (SP) were higher steaming at $121^{\circ}C$ than $95-100^{\circ}C$. No significant differences on WBC and SP of Olbyeossal by dehydration condition were observed. As the sensory evaluation results, the combination in steaming at $121^{\circ}C$ and hot-air drying at 45 or $80^{\circ}C$ led to increase preference for appearance, color, taste and overall acceptability. These results indicate that steaming and dehydration condition were affecting factor on physicochemical characteristics of Olbyeossal.

The physical and chemical characteristics of powders from hot air and freeze dried leaves and roots of Acorous calamus L. were investigated. Two parts, upper and lower, of leaves, and two kinds of roots, 4 and 6 years old, were dried at 30 and $40^{\circ}C$, freeze-dried, and ground to make powder. Contents of moisture, ash, crude fat, and crude protein in freeze dried powder of upper leaf were 4.87%, 6.73%, 2.22%, and 3.57%, respectively. Water absorption index (WAI) and water solubility index (WSI) in freeze dried powder of lower and upper leaves were 8.476 and 0.077 g/mL. Contents of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll in freeze dried powder of upper leaves were 12.18, 16.86, and 29.11 mg/100 g, respectively. Contents of total and reducing sugar in freeze dried powder of 4 and 6 years roots were $111.89{\sim}119.21$ ppm and $5.02{\sim}5.22$ ppm, $109.92{\sim}114.65$ ppm and $5.21{\sim}5.32ppm$. Contents of total polyphenols and flavonoids in freeze dried powder of upper leaf were 125.02 and $21.02{\mu}g/mg$, respectively.

In this study, the optimum pre-heating condition was investigated to improve water extraction yield of Phelinus linteus tea. Pre-heating was carried out using drying oven or hot plate at different temperatures and times, and extraction yield was estimated by measuring optical density at 370 nm and soluble solid content. The highest optical density and soluble solid content of Phelinus linteus tea were observed when pre-heated at $70{\sim}80^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes in drying oven. Pre-heating in drying oven resulted in also faster color changes of Phelinus linteus tea at lower temperature. According to the organoleptic evaluation, pre-heated Phelinus linteus tea in drying oven at $70{\sim}80^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes was preferred compared to the non-treated. In conclusion, pre-heating in drying oven at $70{\sim}80^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes was found to be the most efficient conditions to increase extraction yield of Phelinus linteus tea.

This study evaluated the microbial quality of dried and powdered foods during storage with increased humidity because of climate change. Five types of dried and powdered foods (dried shredded squid, wheat flour, Sunsik, red pepper powder, and roasted sesame seed) were stored at different relative humidities (RH 23%, 43%, 68%, 85%, and 100%) and changes in water activity and microbial populations were measured during storage at $35^{\circ}C$ for 15 days. The results revealed that water activity values of dried and powdered foods were significantly increased during storage when samples were stored at RH 85 and 100%. In addition, levels of total mesophilic bacteria, yeast, and mold were significantly increased after storage for 6 days or 9 days at RH 85% and 100%. However, levels of Escherichia coli and coliform did not increase significantly during storage. Based on these findings, dried and powdered foods should not be stored at high RH because the increased water activity enables microbial growth.

This study was conducted to obtain the optimal conditions of hot air drying for Cudrania tricuspidata by response surface methodology (RSM). The independent variables were blanching time (60, 120, 240 sec), drying temperature (40, 60, $80^{\circ}C$) and drying time (12, 24, 36 h). The dependant variables were total polyphenol content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), DPPH radical scavenging activity (DPPH), and color difference (${\Delta}E$). Viable cell colony was counted according to changes of blanching time. It was confirmed that microorganisms gradually decreased with increasing blanching time. From RSM results, the predicted values of TPC, TFC, DPPH, and ${\Delta}E$ were 8.62 mg GAE/g, 56.65 mg RE/g, 40.26% and 11.69, respectively. Experimental values within the optimal range (240 sec, blanching time; $60^{\circ}C$, drying temperature; 24 h, drying time) were 10.06 mg GAE/g, 49 mg RE/g, 44.99% and 10.53, respectively. The predicted values were similar to the experimental values. Comparing drying tendency according to changes of blanching time, moisture reduction was bigger in the blanched sample than that in control at $40^{\circ}C$. However, the differences between blanched and control decreased with increase of drying temperature. Viable cell gradually decreased as increasing blanching time.
