Analyzing of Construction Safety Planning Tasks for Performance Improvement Using Importance Performance Analysis Method (IPA 분석을 활용한 주요 건설안전 계획업무 도출에 관한 연구)

  • The main purpose of the study is to reduce the accident death rate in the construction industry. To achieve this goal, the safety planning tasks were analyzed and assessed in terms of the importance and preventive effects of the tasks. Through the extensive literature reviews, the safety planning tasks were identified and reviewed by safety managers. based on the safety planning tasks developed in the previous stage, a survey was conducted in order to receive responses by experts with knowledge on the effects and importance of preventive measures for safety. Then, the Importance Performance Analysis(IPA) method was employed to identify the safety manager's tasks that have an effect on performance indicators. Advice and guidance on making the employment rules, etc. (#18) and details about participation and consultation at the Occupational Safety and Health Committee (#16) were found to require revision and improvement of details and guidelines. The effective safety tasks identified are expected to have a critical role in reducing the accident death rate in the construction industry.

  • Occupational safety and health management expense in construction industry means the monetary amount that the purchaser appropriates to prevent various disaster from happening during the construction period by setting aside a certain amount from subcontract based on the construction type and scale. The current appropriation standard of the Ministry of Employment and Labor has been enforced since its stipulation in 1988 although various policy changes for the safety in construction industry, e.g. the development of occupational safety management techniques in construction industry, changes in construction field site environment, cost depreciation, etc., are happening in Korea and overseas. Therefore, it is required at this point to examine whether the current occupational safety and health management expense appropriation is proper or not on the basis of time trend and the changes in the construction industry environment. Accordingly, this study aims at investigating the appropriation of occupational safety and health management expense for construction industry by the construction type and target expense in response to current construction industry environment and proposing the proper appropriation. The above research result proposes the calibration of the appropriation as specified and stipulated by the Ministry of Employment and Labor by the construction type and target expense, which is necessary to reflect the actual condition of the current construction industry environment.

  • In terms of construction work, the construction cost is lower than the importance of the construction, and since it is demolished after the completion of the construction, it is treated as a relatively small proportion compared to other construction types. Construction engineers who actually worked on the site talk about the safety of the construction work as the most important work of the various processes to ensure the quality and safety of the construction work. However, it is also true that safety management is difficult for temporary construction because various types of temporary materials are installed at various sites at the same time as construction progresses, and the main construction is carried out using them. Safety accidents in construction work are not much different even if they are carried out in temporary construction. The importance and safety of construction work cannot be neglected in view of the recent trend of large-scale construction, multi-purpose, excavation of large-scale underground spaces, and construction trends that are changing to skyscrapers. The purpose of this research is to secure the safety of Dongbar among the temporary materials used in construction work by using IT convergence technology, and to propose safety management to prevent safety accidents in the construction work.

  • Accident of small and medium-sized construction sites happens much than large-sized construction sites. The safety consulting for accident prevention of construction sites has been launched in 1995. This research probed latency accident of small and medium-sized construction sites. By method, we used that result data of safety consulting for accident prevention of small and medium-sized construction sites. As a result a fall was examined by the most latency accident factor. In this study, a fall and electric shock, descent, fall down in ground, a fire was examined weighty accident factor of small and medium-sized construction sites.

  • Additive manufacturing (AM, also known as 3D printing) technology gets attention for various effects in the construction industry. It reveals abilities of process automation, high traceability of resource management, construction period precision improvement, and worker safety. However, unlike the existing construction technology, the development of AM construction process causes trial errors and unpredictable accidents. In the present study, the construction AM process is designed for on-site construction, and it performs with empirical tests. Also, we analyzed the causes of qualitative experimental results.

  • Recently, the disaster situation has been diversified and compounded worldwide as well as in Korea. And the damage scale of each disasters have increased, and following economic loss is also increasing immensely. In Korea, especially the out break frequency of large-scale disasters has increased. Disasters caused by earthquakes are also very likely to occur. When a major accident such as Mauna resort collapse accident, Ferry sewol sinking accident occurred, systematic emergency medical care at the site at the time of disaster occurred in order to operate an emergency medical facility corresponding to the site, which is not systematic. The need for this service is urgent. If highly reliable emergency medical system function at appropriate times in the disaster site, secondary damage can be reduced and the whole situation would be back to normal shortly. Therefore, it is necessary to provide an emergency medical system capable of quickly and safely responding to disaster sites in relation to various damage scale. For the purpose, thorough analysis on mobile medical units of inside and outside the country was accomplished. As a result, Mobile Medical Unit of outside the country are trailer type, tent type, container type etc. At home, these types have been studied and will be proposed early next year as a temporary solution. Here we introduce suitable types for our country.

  • This paper presents the path model that defines a causal relationship between the construction workers' personal characteristics and their safety behavior at job-site. The personal characteristics and the safety behaviors which should be incorporated into the theoretical model were identified and established by conducting literature survey.. The model was verified by administrating survey questionnaires to the 399 construction workers who are actively engaged in construction job-sites located in Daegu metropolitan city and Kyungpook province. The data obtained from the respondents were statistically analyzed using SPSS18 and AMOS18. It is confirmed that safety behavior is directly affected by sincerity, openness, and extroversions. In addition, it is indirectly affected by stress reaction, safety motivation, and safety knowledge as well.

  • Gangform compared with conventional wood and steel form is systemized form which has a capability to install and dismantle form at a time without repeating to assembly and disassembly small members. Gangform compared with ACS has some problems such as 1) Tower Crane load increase, 2) increase in safety incidence during climbing Gangform, 3) decrease in detachment operation productivity, 4) stop work due to climate impacts, and 5) decrease in labor cost, productivity, quality. A conceptual design model of automated Gangform climbing system is suggested for apartment housing construction to show its technical/economic feasibility and workers' safety while increasing operation productivity and concrete quality.

  • 최근 국가시설물에서는 2000년대 이후 집중호우 등으로 인한 대상 부지 내의 홍수 발생 시 주요시설물에 기능 마비가 발생할 수 있고, 궁극적으로는 대규모 사고로 이어질 수 있기 때문에 외부침수에 대비할 수 있는 위험도 분석이 필요하다. 대상 부지에서의 외부침수의 원인으로서는 LIP(Local Intensive Precipitation)에 의한 홍수 발생조건, 인근에 댐, 제방 등이 위치한 경우 이들 시설물의 붕괴에 따른 홍수류의 원전 유입, 지진해일/폭풍해일에 의한 바다로부터의 홍수 유입 등이 대표적인 예이다. 따라서 대상 부지 및 그 SOC시설물의 안전도를 높은 수준에서 관리하기 위해서는 극한홍수가 유입될 때 침수심, 침수유속, 침수시간, 침수강도 등의 재해도를 분석하여야하고, 이들 SOC시설물의 취약도 평가를 실시하고 재해도와 취약도를 결합한 연계분석을 통하여 위험도를 재평가하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 기존 기후변화를 고려한 외부침수 위험도 분석 결과를 바탕으로 대상 부지 내의 내부침수 위험도 분석을 실시하였다. 위험도 분석을 실시하기 위해 현장답사를 통해 물이 외부에서 내부로 유입 가능한 침수패스 경로를 파악하고, 출입문 위치와 창문의 높이, 출입문의 틈간격 및 높이를 파악하였다. 현장답사를 토대로 침수구역을 선정하였다. 침수구역 선정시 대침수구역과 소침수구역 중요기기들이 위치한 구역을 바탕으로 선정하였고, 이를 바탕으로 2차원 침수 해석을 실시하여 각 구역별로 시간대별 침수가능 높이를 산정하였다. 또한 각 구역별 중요기기의 임계높이를 산정하고, 이를 분석된 최대 침수심과 비교하여 각 구역별 침수에 취약한 구역을 산정하였다. 본 연구결과의 바탕으로 사회기반 시설에 대한 보호 및 홍수피해 예방으로 인한 사회비용 절감이 가능하고, 주요시설물의 SSC별 방재대책을 수립하고, 단계별 저감대책을 제시하여 위험도 경감을 위한 대비책을 마련이 가능할 것 이라고 판단된다.

Improved System for Establishing a Culture to Wear Personal Protective Gear (개인보호구 착용문화 정착을 위한 제도개선)

  • About 50% of disasters occurring at domestic construction sites are caused by the accidents not wearing personal protective equipment. Under the current statutes, employers are required to provide personal protective equipment and workers are required to wear personal protective equipment. However, there is insufficient compliance with wearing personal protective equipment on site. This study is about the measure of improving the system to the way of purchasing, wearing and managing personal protective equipment by individual workers, and refunding the cost of personal protective equipment to workers. It is expected that this thesis will improve the system of personal protective equipment effectively, and contribute to the prevention of disasters by settling the culture of wearing personal protective equipment.
