Comparison of the Pavement Performance for Concrete Overlay and Asphalt Overlay on Aged Cement Concrete Pavement (노후화된 시멘트 콘크리트 포장에 대한 콘크리트 및 아스팔트 덧씌우기의 포장성능 비교)

  • More than sixty percentage of highway in South Korea were constructed by concrete pavements and more than half of the concrete pavements were twenty years or older. Maintenance and rehabilitation of aged cement concrete pavements required early transportation opening due to difficulty of preparing bypass roads, given South Korea's transportation condition and so far, mostly asphalt concrete overlay has been used. However, asphalt concrete pavement maintenance and rehabilitation is costly because of early damage and at the same time, it causes inconvenience to the road users. Recently, as an effective method of rehabilitation for aged cement concrete pavement, bonded concrete overlay is being attempted. Therefore, utilizing various data on year-by-year basis is needed to rationally analyze of the damage on asphalt concrete overlay and bonded concrete overlay is necessary. However, in South Korea database of Serviceability damage on asphalt concrete overlay and bonded concrete overlay does not exist. In this research, performance is evaluated by the LTPP (Long Term Pavement Performance) Data of U.S.A, which accumulated various damage data of asphalt concrete overlay and bonded concrete overlay. However, the pattern distress of asphalt concrete overlay and bonded concrete overlay are different. Therefore, the pavement distress data of each section is collected into database and distress are calculated PCI(Pavement Condition Index) in order to compare life of asphalt concrete overlay and bonded concrete overlay.

  • 수위, 우량, 유량, 유사량 등 수문자료중에서 유량자료는 가장 많은 쓰임새를 갖고 있음에도 불구하고 신뢰도가 낮은 이유로 인해 많은 문제점을 안고 있는 것이 현실이다. 이렇게 유량측정자료의 신뢰도가 낮은 이유는 크게 5가지로 들 수 있는데 1)측정 수행자의 잦은 교체 등에 따른 조사역량 부족, 2)수행자별 유량측정 및 분석방법 상이, 3)장비의 유속검정 등 관리미흡 및 성능 저하, 4)유량측정 상당시간 경과후 유량측정성과 정리로 오류 수정 곤란, 5)유량측정성과의 체계적인 관리 미흡 등이다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하고 현장에서의 유량측정 신뢰도를 향상시키기 위하여 (주)웹솔루스에서는 한국수자원공사의 용역을 통해 현장의 유량 측정 결과를 PDA를 이용하여 기록하고 이를 실시간으로 중앙의 서버로 전송하여 과거 자료의 분석을 통해 측정자료의 신뢰도를 검증함으로써 신뢰성 있는 유량측정자료를 측정하도록 지원하는 유량측정 신뢰도 향상 시스템을 개발하였고, 한국수자원공사와 공동으로 두개의 특허출원을 하였다(특허출원: 10-2002-0049188, 10-2005-11550). 현재 이 시스템은 2002년 8월 착수를 시작으로 9개월이 지난 2003년 3월에 시험판의 개발을 완료하고, 용담댐 유역의 주천교 등 5개 지점에 시험 적용하면서 많은 개선과 보완을 거쳐 2005년 현재에는 한국수자원공사에서 운영하고 있는 13개의 댐과 1개의 국가하천에 대하여 총 59개의 관측지점에서 활용되고 있으며, 현재(2005. 2월 기준)까지 1,660여건 이상의 전자야장이 데이터베이스에 구축되었으며, 유량측정성과 DB는 웹시스템(http://river.kowaco.or.kr)을 통해 운영되고 있다. 본 시스템 도입을 통해 유량측정성과가 체계적으로 관리되고 있으며, 향후 시스템에 대한 지속적인 유지관리가 이루어진다면 오랜기간에 걸쳐 축적된 많은 양의 유량자료는 수자원관리에 큰 역할을 수행할 수 있을것으로 판단된다. 개발계획 및 유역의 특성 등을 조사하고, 시험유역의 선정기준을 수립하여 연구의 목적과 부합되는 지구를 시험유역으로 선정하였으며 선정된 시험유역에 대하여 수문$\cdot$수질 조사 계획을 수립하고, 계측시설을 설치하여 시험운영을 실시하고, 향후 시험유역의 수문계측 및 관리방안을 수립하고자 한다.1종이었다. 이 중 한국 고유종은 11종이었고, 외래 어종은 검정우럭과 2종이 조사되었으며, Zacco platypus(피라미), Zacco temmincki(갈겨니), Acheilongnathus koreanus(칼납자루), Odontobutis platycephala(동사리), Coreoleuciscus splendidus(쉬리) 순으로 분포하고 있었고, Acheilognathus signifer(묵납자루)는 댐 건설 전에는 많이 분포하였으나 현장조사에서 서식을 확인 할 수 언어 개체수의 큰 감소내지 멸종된 것으로 추정되었다.에서 동시에 시행하였다. 수술 후 1년 내 시행한 심초음파에서 모든 환아에서 단지 경등도 이하의 승모판 폐쇄 부전 소견을 보였다. 수술 후 조기 사망은 없었으며, 합병증으로는 유미흉이 한 명에서 있었다. 술 후 10개월째 허혈성 확장성 심근증이 호전되지 않아 Dor 술식을 시행한 후 사망한 예를 제외한 나머지 6명은 특이 증상 없이 정상 생활 중이다 결론: 좌관상동맥 페동맥이상 기시증은 드물기는 하나, 영유아기에 심근경색 및 허혈성 심근증 또는 선천성 승모판 폐쇄 부전등을 초래하는 심각한 선천성 심질환이다. 그러나 진단 즉시 직접 좌관상동맥-대동맥 이식술로 수술적 교정을 해줌으로써 좋은 성적을 기대할 수 있음을 보여주었다.특히 교사들이 중요하게 인식하는 해방적 행동에 대한 목표를 강조하여 적용할 필요가 있음을 시사하고 있다.교하여 유의한 차이가 관찰되지 않았다. 또한 HSP 환자군에서도 $IL1RN^{*}2$ allele 빈도와 carria

  • The corrosion of reinforcement induced by chloride ingress is the main deterioration cause of coastal reinforced concrete structures. In this paper, an experimental study was executed to investigate the effect of the kinds and replacement ratios of mineral admixtures (fly-ash, ground granulated blast-furnace slag silica fume and meta-kaolin), W/B and curing time on chloride diffusion of concrete by long-time immersion test in chloride solution. According to the result, the use of mineral admixtures was effective in improving the resistant to chloride ingress. The chloride penetration depth and diffusion coefficient were decreased as replacement ratios of mineral admixture were increased. The kind and replacement ratio of the mineral admixture are more important than the W/B in reducing the chloride diffusion of concrete.   • Grouting materials are used for the unification of superstructural and substructural body like bridge seat (shoe) or machinery pedestal and e.t.c by filling their intercalary voids. Accordingly, grouting materials have been developed and used mainly with products of high strength because those materials are constructed specially in a part receiving large or impact load. In this situation, the structural body constructed by grouting materials with high stiffness-centered (caused by high strength) products is apt to cause brittle failure when receiving over a limit stress and to cause cracks according to cumulative fatigue by continuous and cyclic load. In addition, grouting materials are apt to cause cracks by using too much rapid hardening agents that give rise to high heat of hydration to maintain high strength at early age. In this study, to overcome these problems, cement type grouting materials including powder of waste tire and resin as elastic materials which aim to be more stable construction and to be improvement of mother-body's unification are developed and endowed with properties of high toughness and high durability add to existing properties of high flowability, non-shrinkage and high strength. Besides, this study contribute to of for green construction materials for being possible recycling industrial waste like waste tire and flyash. On the whole, seven type mixing conditions are tested and investigated to choose the best mixing condition.

Tensile Properties and Adhesion of Hybrid-Type Anti-Corrosion Polymer Cement Slurry (하이브리드형 방식 폴리머 시멘트 슬러리의 인장특성 및 접착성)

  • In recent years, epoxy-coated reinforcing bars have been widely used in order to prevent the corrosion of ordinary reinforcing bar. However, they have a bad balance between performance and cost. Especially, they have a brittleness properties, low bond strength to cement concrete and no good bend-ability in the field. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the tensile properties and adhesion of hybrid-type anti-corrosion polymer cement slurry (PCS). PCSs are prepared with four types polymer dispersions using fly ash and silica fume, and tested for proper coating thickness, tensile properties, adhesion to steel plate and bend-ability. From the test results, the viscosity of PCS is effected by polymer dispersion types, and is a little decreased by using fly ash. The coating thickness of PCS has a proper thickness at polymer-binder ratio of 100%. It is apparent that the coating thickness has various values according to viscosity of PCS, water-binder ratio and polymer-binder rato. PCS has a good various anticorrosion properties and physical properties such as tensile strength, adhesion and bend-ability. It is also recommended that proper coating thickness to reinforcing bar is in the ranges of 150 to $250{\mu}m$ for bond strength, adhesion and bend-ability. It is also expected that the coated reinforcing bar using PCS is widely used instead of epoxy coated reinforcing bar in the industrial field.

Analysis on the International Trends in Safe Management of Very Low Level Waste Based upon Graded Approach and Their Implications (차등접근법에 근거한 극저준위폐기물의 안전관리 국제동향 및 시사점에 대한 고찰)

  • Recently, International Atomic Energy Agency and major leading countries in radioactive waste management tend to subdivide the categories of radioactive waste based upon risk-graded approach. In this context, the category of very low level waste has been newly introduced, or optimized management options for this kind of waste have been pursued in many countries. The application of engineered surface landfill type facilities dedicated to dispose of very low level waste has been gradually expanded, and it was analyzed that their design concept of isolation has been much advanced than those of the old fashioned surface trench-type disposal facilities for low and intermediate level waste, which were usually constructed in 1960's. In addition, the management options for very low level waste in major leading countries are varied depending upon and interfaced with the affecting factors such as: national framework for clearance, legal and practical availability of low and intermediate level waste repository and/or non-nuclear waste landfill, public acceptance toward alternative waste management options, and so forth. In this regard, it was concluded that optimized long-term management options for very low level waste in Korea should be also established in a timely manner through comprehensive review and discussions, in preparation of decommissioning of large nuclear facilities in the future, and be implemented in a systematic manner under the framework of national policy and management plan for radioactive waste management.

  • 에너지자원이 부족하여 에너지 해외의존도가 약 80% 이상인 우리나라의 특성상 에너지 해외의존도를 경감시키고 에너지부족 상황을 안정시키기 위하여 국내의 부존에너지를 최대한 활용하는 것이 필요하다. 또한 지구온난화에 대처하는 범세계적인 규제에 대비하기 위하여, 청정에너지를 적극 개발하여 에너지자립도를 향상시켜야 한다. 신재생에너지 중 하나인 소수력은 친환경적인 청정에너지 중 하나로 다른 대체 에너지원에 비해 높은 에너지 밀도를 가지고 있어 개발 가치가 큰 부존자원으로 평가되고 있다. 그리고 소수력은 여러측면의 사회적 환경적 이점으로 최근에는 선진국에서도 매우 큰 관심을 끌고 있으며, 에너지 자원이 빈약하여 대부분 석유수입에 의존하는 우리나라는 지역에너지로 소수력을 적극 개발하여야 한다. 소수력 부존량이 풍부한 우리나라는 1982년에 소수력 개발 활성화 방안이 공표되면서부터 정부주도 하에 소수력 발전소 건설에 관한 연구를 적극적으로 지원하게 되었다. 대수력과 비교하여 소수력의 장점으로는 비교적 짧은 계획 및 시공기간, 낮은 투자비용, 개인이나 기업을 통한 투자참여, 주위 인력이나 자재를 이용한 쉬운 설치, 적은 환경적인 피해 등이 있다. 이와 같이 청정에너지 중 하나인 소수력의 개발과 활용을 위하여 IT 기술을 접목한 다양한 응용시스템 구축이 진행되고 있다. 특히, 한국에너지기술연구원에서는 신재생에너지 개발 및 보급 확대를 목표로 2006년에 신재생에너지 자원지도시스템을 구축하였으며, 이를 웹상에서 제공하고 있다. 소수력 발전시설의 적극적인 활용을 위해서는 초기설계시 장기유출 특성분석을 통해 해당유역의 수자원을 최대로 활용하고, 지형적인 요소를 이용하여 전기의 생산이 최대가 되도록 하는 최적설계가 이루어 져야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 소수력 발전시설의 최적설계를 위해 한강수계 258개 표준유역 중 섬강합류점에 대하여 자원지도를 활용하여 연평균유량을 추정한 후 소수력 자원량을 산정하였고, 그 결과로 시설용량과 연간전기생산량은 각각 1,633kW, 6,224MWh로 산정되었다. 또한 유출량의 미계측 유역에서의 소수력 발전성능을 예측하기 위한 방법으로 Weibull 분포의 특성화 방법을 선택하여 그 적용성을 검토하였다. 섬강합류점 표준유역 내에 위치하고 있는 목계관측소, 앙성관측소에서의 10개년(1999~2008) 강우자료를 바탕으로 유황곡선을 작성하여 상관관계분석을 실시한 결과 목계관측소에서 0.994701, 앙성관측소에서 0.992616으로 관측치와 계산값이 상당히 유사한 것으로 나타났다.

Review on Spent Nuclear Fuel Performance and Degradation Mechanisms under Long-term Dry Storage (사용후핵연료의 장기 건식 건전성 성능과 주요 열화 기구에 관한 고찰)

  • As the capacity of spent nuclear fuel storage pool at reactor sites becomes saturated in ten years, long term dry storage strategy has been recently discussed as an alternative option in Korea. In this study, we reviewed safety-criteria-related research results on spent nuclear fuel performance and integrity under long-term dry storage and proposed the direction and the scope of future domestic research and development. Creep and hydride effect in relation to the embrittlement are known to be the major degradation mechanisms of the spent fuels during the long term dry storage. However, recent research results showed that hydride reorientation and hydride embrittlement are one of the most critical factors to the spent fuel integrity. Accordingly safety criteria of US and Japan for the storage system are basically founded on those mechanisms. However, in Korea, not only in-pile but out-of-pile experimental data have not been generated to understand fuel cladding degradation and to determine the criteria to ensure the safety. In addition, the transient behavior of the spent fuel during transportation also needs to be thoroughly examined. Therefore, various experimental research and development will be required to establish our own safety criteria for future long-term dry storage of domestic spent fuels.

The suggestion of Steel Plate-Concrete Composite Beam Shape with Bolts (볼트 체결형 강판-콘크리트 합성보의 형상 제안)

  • The steel-plate concrete composite beam is composed of a steel plate, concrete and a shear connector to combine the two inhomogeneous materials. In general, the steel plate is assembled by welding an existing composite beam. In this study, a new steel-plate concrete composite (SPCC) beam was developed to reduce the size of the shear connector and improve its workability. The SPCC beam was composed of folded steel plates and concrete, without any shear connector. The folded steel plate was assembled with high strength bolts instead of welding. To improve the workability in field construction, a hat-shaped cap was attached in the junction with the slab. Monotonic two-point load testing was conducted under displacement control mode. The flexural strength of the SPCC beam specimen was calculated to be 76% of that of the complete composite beam by using the plastic stress distribution method and strain compatibility method. The cap acted as the stud and accessory. The synthesis rate could be increased by controlling the gap of the cap, and the bending performance could be evaluated by using the strain fitting method considering the synthesis rate of the SPCC beam.

Prediction of the Acoustic Performance of a Music Hall Considering the Radiation Characteristics of Korean Traditional Musical Sources (국악음원의 방사특성을 고려한 국악원의 음향 성능 예측)

  • There have been always some difficulties in target setting and conditioning of acoustic performances of the Korean traditional music hall due mainly to the lack of the information on the sound radiation characteristics of Korean musical sources. In this study, the radiation characteristics of four typical Korean traditional musical sources were investigated in precision and their usage was demonstrated: The selected musical sources were Gayageum (string), Daegeum (woodwind), Jango (drum), and Pansori Chang (vocal performance). Each sound source was located at the center of a semi-anechoic chamber and the directivity was determined by the measured sound pressure levels in every 10° angular position, for both vertical and horizontal directions. The directivity pattern of Gayageum varies from a uniform to a complex pattern having many side lobes with the increase of frequency. The main radiation of Daegeum is toward the upward direction. The directivity pattern of Jango is clearly a side-oriented one and the left direction intensity is sharper than its right side at low frequencies. For the Chang, the directivity pattern change from a uniform pattern to a frontally directed one as the frequency goes high. Measured directional and spectral characteristics of traditional Korean music sources were implemented into the computation of architectural acoustic measures for the Busan National Korean Traditional Music Hall which is under construction. Parameters such as RT, SPL, C80, IE, STI were calculated at two receiver positions by using a ray tracing technique. Significant differences in the acoustic measures at receiver positions were observed between the results in using the omni-directional source and the directional one. It is thought that the suggested source data and design method can be used as a basic reference in the future acoustic design of performance halls for the Korean traditional music.
