Objective: This study was carried out to examine the factors affecting the fatigue and health promotion behavior of hairdressers and their respective levels. The data were collected from 195 hairdressers working in beauty shops in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province using self-administered questionnaires over the period from July 1 to July 31. Methods: A multiple regression model was used to study the factors influencing fatigue and health promotion behavior among hairdressers. Results: This study showed a statistically significant difference in perceived fatigue levels and health promotion behavior according to age, family type, education level, work period, work position, and fatigue level in the past one week. In addition, multiple regression showed that statistically significant factors affecting perceived fatigue were education level, work period, and fatigue level in the past one week. Statistically significant factors affecting health promotion behavior were age and fatigue level in the past one week. The level of perceived fatigue among hairdressers tended to be higher than other workers, and their level of practice of health promotion behavior was generally lower. Conclusions: The improvement of the work environment, such as through the distribution of a proper workload considering workers' characteristics and strengthening of exercise programs to reduce the fatigue level and promote health practices among hairdressers is needed.
The purpose of this study was to measuring the effects of health involvement, attitude, perceived behavioral control (PBC), behavioral intention on seafood consumption. A total of 235 questionnaires were completed. Structural equation model was used to measure the causal relationships among constructs. Results of the study demonstrated that the structural analysis result for the data also indicated excellent model fit. The direct effect of health involvement on attitude was statistically significant. The direct effects of health involvement, attitude and PBC on consumption were statistically significant. As expected, attitude, PBC and behavioral intention had significant direct effects on consumption. Moreover, health involvement had a significant indirect effect on behavioral intention through attitude and PBC. Health involvement also had a significant indirect effect on consumption through attitude, PBC and behavioral intention. Attitude and PBC had significant indirect effects on consumption through behavioral intention. In conclusion, based on structural analysis, a model was proposed of interrelations among health involvement, attitude, PBC, behavioral intention and seafood consumption. Other variables(sensory variable, habit, norm etc) may be incorporated to form models that consist of new antecedent and consequence pairs.
Objectives : Illness behavior is defined as the persistence of an adaptive/maladaptive mode of perceiving, evaluating and responding to health status and symptoms according to the status. In a cognitive aspect, somatizing symptoms are regarded as being originated from distortions, including magnification and/or amplification, of perceiving, evaluating and responding to symptoms such as bodily sensations. That is somatization may be explained by maladaptive illness behavior. In this study, we tried to investigate differences of illness behavior in depressive patient according to the presence of somatization. Methods : We divided 45 patients who were diagnosed as depression with ICD-10 diagnostic criteria into two groups(somatizing and non-somatizing group) according to the somatization subscale of Korean Depression Scale and compared two groups in the differences of illness behavior using the Illness Behavior Questionnaire. Results : Somatizing group showed significantly higher scores than non-somatizing group on the disease affirmation subscale($6.79{\pm}2.08$ vs. 4.76, p=0.003) and the denial subscale($3.25{\pm}1.22$ vs. $2.10{\pm}1.41$, p=0.006). There were no significant differences between two groups on the general hypochondriasis subscale and the affective unstability subscale. In a logistic regression analysis, somatizing group also showed higher odds ratio (OR) scores on the disease affirmation subscale(OR=1.418, p=0.089) and the denial subscale(OR=1.880, p=0.083). Conclusion : The disease affirmation and denial may be a discriminative mechanism of somatization in depressive patients. These subscales of Illness Behavior Questionnare could be useful markers, and psychiatric illnesses with somatizing and depressive symptoms may be differentially diagnosed and be predicted through these subscales.

First, the degree of the marital conflict from the divorced parents is higher than the one of the marital conflict from the parents not divorced. Second, the group who has the parents with a high level of marital conflict went through the highest difficulties among 3 groups at all variables without the parent-child relationship. Therefore, this study suggests that marital conflict is more closely related to psychological adjustment of children than parental divorce itself.

This special issue examines factors influencing quality of life in Korean society. The special issue is based on the symposium, which was organized by the Korean Association of Psychological and Social Issues on August and December 2005. A review of the literature and also contributors to the special issue draw out six important factors that influence quality of life in Korean society: (1) financial stability, (2) harmonious interpersonal relationships, (3) emotional support, (4) psychological factors, such as self-regulation and self-efficacy, (5) academic achievement, and (6) health and leisure life. Koreans believe that financial resources are necessary in maintaining quality of life, and they must be supplemented with harmonious interpersonal relations in family, school and the workplace. As people become order, the importance of self-efficacy increases in order to maintain a sense of control in their lives. In addition, academic achievement, health, and leisure life contribute to quality of life. Finally, indigenous psychological analysis provides important insights into understanding factors influencing quality of life in Korean society.

This study was conducted to confirm the level of stress and infection prevention behavior of nursing college freshman during the COVID-19 pandemic. 119 nursing college freshmen who took remote classes because face-to-face classes were not possible due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient using SPSS WIN/PC 26.0 statistics program. As a result of this study, the sensitivity to stress was significantly higher when the attitude towards college life was passive (F=5.92, p=.004), and when people perceived themselves as healthy, their stress was significantly lower (t=-2.22, p=.029). In addition, those who responded that they were very uncomfortable due to activity restrictions due to COVID-19 had a significantly higher level of infection prevention behavior than those who responded that they did not feel any discomfort (F=3.51, p=.018). In a pandemic environment such as COVID-19, efforts to promote a positive attitude and awareness of health conditions are needed to reduce the stress of college freshmen and increase infection prevention behavior.
