A Study on the Flame Configuration and Flame Stability Mechanism with a Nozzle Diameter of Laminar Lifted Jet Flame (층류제트 화염의 노즐직경에 따른 안정화 메커니즘과 화염형상에 관한 연구)

  • Flame stability is the one of the main mechanism of laminar lifted flame and flame propagation velocity becomes a yardstick to measure the flame stability. Bilge has presented the flame propagation velocity of the triple flame and the flame stability mechanism related the flame configuration and mixture fraction. However, there was not able to observe all process of flame ignition and extinction for small nozzle diameter. In this paper, we have subdivided the flame configuration and stability mechanism and classified the flame behavior with a nozzle diameter. Also we have subdivided the 'triple flame propagation opened' and the 'triple flame propagation closed' from the triple flame propagation of triple flame criterion.

  • 대공간 구조시스템은 일반적으로 자중을 최소화하고 부재내력의 효과적인 사용이 매우중요하다. 따라서 준공후의 외력에 대한 구조적 거동에 대한 파악도 중요하지만 시공중의 거동에 대한 파악도 매우 중요하다. 특히 케이블 막구조의 경우 시각초기에 구조물이 불안정하지만 케이블에 장력이 도입되면서 점차적으로 구조물의 강성이 높아져 구조물이 안정화를 이루게 피므로 시공과정 해석 즉 안정화 이행과정해석이 시공계획을 설정하는 부분에서 매우 중요한 요소가 된다. 본고에서는 케이블 막구조의 실례로써 최근 완공된 인천문학 경기장 지붕구조를 대상으로 시공과정과 안정화 이행과정해석에 대한 소개를 한다. 인천문학경기장 지붕구조는 케이블에 장력을 도입하는 과정에서 발생되는 변형과 내력을 흡수하고 하부구조에 대한 영향을 최소화하기 위하여 마스크 지점의 회전과 이동이 가능한 특수공법을 채택하였으며 시공과정해석(안정화이행과정해석)을 통하여 제시된 단계별 목표장력 및 변위에 따라 시공과정이 계획되고 제어되었다. 특히 외국의 기술로 설계된 자료를 근거로 일방적으로 공사를 수행한 다른 구조물과는 다르게 국내의 기술력에 바탕한 구조 해석 등을 통하여 검증하여 최종 시공방법을 결정하였고 이러한 과정을 통하여 대공간 구조에 대한 기술력을 확보하고 확인할 수 있었으며, 그 결과 향후에는 국내의 기술력으로 이와 같은 대규모의 케이블 막구조의 설계와 시공이 가능할 것이라고 판단된다.

Interacting Effects of an Ultrasonic Standing-wave on the Propagation Behavior and Structural Stabilization of Propane/Air Premixed Flame (프로판/공기 예혼합화염의 전파거동 및 구조안정화에 대한 정상초음파의 간섭효과)

  • An experimental study has been conducted to scrutinize into the influence of ultrasonic standing wave on the propagating behavior and structural stabilization of propane/air premixed flame at various equivalence ratios in half-open rectangular duct. Evolutionary features of the flame fronts are caught by high-speed images, and the variation of flame structure and local flame velocities along the propagation are analyzed. It is revealed that the propagation velocity agitated by the ultrasonic standing wave is greater than that without the agitation: the velocity enhancement diminishes as the equivalence ratio approaches the stoichiometric. Influence of standing wave on the flame overwhelms that of the buoyancy which slants the flame front towards top of the duct, and thus the standing wave contributes to the structural stabilization of propane/air premixed flame.

Study on a Spin Stabilization Technique Using a Spin Table (스핀테이블을 이용한 스핀안정화 기법 연구)

  • For an orbit transfer in a space exploration mission, a solid or liquid rocket booster is included at the last stage of the launch vehicle. During the orbit transfer, thrust misalignment can cause a severe orbit error. Three axis attitude control or spin stabilization can be implemented to minimize the error. Spin stabilization technique has advantages in structural simplicity and lightness. One of ways to apply the spin stabilization to the payload is to include a spin table system in the launch vehicle. In this paper, effect of the spin table system on separation dynamics of the payload is analyzed. Simple model of the spin table to mimic basic functions is designed and simulation environment is established with the model. Effect of the spin table is tested by evaluating separation dynamics of a payload with and without the spin table. Analysis on tolerance effect of separation spring constant on separation dynamics of a payload is conducted.

  • Calcia stabilized zirconia polycrystal (Ca-TZP) powders synthesized by hydrothermal treatment was sintered at a temperature range of $1200^{\circ}C~1400^{\circ}C$ and investigated the properties of sintered body and the behaviors of isothermal phase transformation. The sintered bodies of Ca-TZP were shown the density of about 97% and the average mean tetragonal grain size of about $0.1~0.25{\mu}m$. Also, Ca-TZP specimen was more stable during aging at $250^{\circ}C$ than that of Y-TZP ceramics.

  • Experimental research was performed on the 6m-6m two-span, continuous composite beams. Background research for the crack width control of continuous composite bridges in the Eurocode-4 is reviewed and equationsfor the calculation of crack width considering tension stiffening are presented. The behavior of the continuous composite beams was investigated using the initial and stabilized cracking process of the concrete slab in tension. Test results showed that the current requirement of minimum reinforcement for ductility in Korea Highway Bridge Design Codes could be reduced. The flexural stiffness of cracked continuous composite beams can be evaluated by the uncracked section analysis until the stabilized cracking stage. An empirical equation for the relationship between the stress of tensile reinforcements and crack width was obtained from the test results.

  • One of problems being faced during construction of soil structures along the coastal regions is the stabilization of soft clay foundation, In this study, centrifugal model bests were conducted to investigate behavior effect of soft foundation reinforced by cement -soil piles for the stabilization of softs clay foundation during the embankment construction. This paper presents results of settlement and heaving behavior of reinforced and unreinforced foundation with time under the swaged loading for different best conditions. The test results have shown that the reductions of vertical settlement of the foundation and heaving of the ground surface adjacent to the embankment are greatly influenced by strength of improved pile, and moisture content, and especially the ratio of replacement area.
