정보생물학 분야에 있어서 분자 구조를 3차원으로 렌더링하여 보여주는 것은 매우 중요한 작업이다. 특히 분자의 표면 렌더링은 분자의 3차원 구조 분석 등에 중요하게 사용된다. 그러나 분자 표면 렌더링을 수행하기 위해서는 많은 양의 폴리곤이 필요하게 된다. 대장균 바이러스와 같은 분자량이 많은 거대 분자를 자연스럽게 렌더링 하기 위해서는 고성능이며 고가의 그래픽 전용 워크스테이션을 사용해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 PC급 시스템에서도 거대 분자를 무리 없이 렌더링 할 수 있는 효율적인 알고리즘을 제안 하였다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 사용자의 시점에서 최적의 성능 및 시각적인 기여를 할 수 있는 적응형 상세 단계 렌더링을 수행한다. 제안된 알고리즘을 사용하여 거대 분자 모델의 렌더링시 대화식 프레임 수준이상의 성능향상을 보이며, 또한 시각적으로도 분자 모델이 가진 중요한 기하학적인 특성을 유지 할 수 있다.

A giant cell tumor (GCT) of the distal radius is not common. Curettage with bone cementation is considered as a treatment of choice but, in the case of recurrence, marked cortical disruption, or articular invasion, en bloc excision and reconstruction with proximal fibular bone graft is usual procedure. In reconstruction of en bloc resected distal radius which had recurred GCT after conservative operation, we used the ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) liner with intramedullary rod and bone cement, because the contamination was extent in previous operation and recurrence after fibular bone graft was fearful. This article introduce our new surgical procedure.

Liquid phase adsorption equilibria of amines in an aqueous solution onto high silica zeolite pellets (HSZ), macroreticular resin particles (MR) and granular activated carbon (GAC) were determined using a batch bottle technique at 298K. The isotherm curves of HSZ-amines and GAC-amines indicate the nonlinear relationship of unfavorable adsorption type of HSZ-amines and favourable one of GAC-amines. However the curves of MR-amines represent the linear pattern of an adsorption isotherm. Among various equilibrium isotherms, the three parameters of the Redlich-Peterson equation and the two parameters of the Freundlich equation are found to be the most satisfactory within the range of this study. The two parameters of the Langmuir isotherm were not applicable to the present adsorption systems. The amines were adsorbed on the HSZ, MR and GAC in the following sequence of adsorptivity; aromatic amines > primary amines > secondary amines. The product of the Freundlich constants, k and n, proportionally increased with the boiling point, molar volume and dissociation constants of amines adsorbed on HSZ, MR and GAC.

This patient was an 53-year-old man who had undergone Sengstaken-Blackmore tube insertion for esophageal varix bleeding. Two days after Sengstaken-Blackmore tube insertion, he developed severe left hemothorax and was transferred to our hospital. The esophagoscopic findings revealed a large perforation lengthening 8-cm in the intrathoracic esophagus. A left thoracotomy was performed 33 days after the injury due to repeated varix bleedings and poor conditions. An 8-cm longitudinal perforation of the intrathoracic esophagus with gross suppurative empyema was found. Primary repair and esophageal exclusion was performed 2cm proximal and distal to the perforation, using rows of nonabsorbable staplers(TA stapler 60 $\times$ 4.8) and large bore thoracostomy tubes were placed for local drainage. Six days after intrathoracic esophageal exclusion, an esophagogram revealed a leakage at just above the proximal stapling site. A cervical esophageal exclusion was performed using the same method. One hundred thirty seven days after exclusion operation for the intra-thoracic esophageal perforation, the patient was able to eat per orally without any secondary esophageal reconstructive surgery.

A 3-year-old, spayed female Shih-tzu dog was presented due to acute vomiting, diarrhea, and generalized weakness. The dog had generalized weakness, increased respiratory rate, and respiratory muscle effect. Neurologic examination revealed appendicular muscular weakness and decreased in tone of the anal sphincter. Megaesophagus was confirmed by radiographic examinations. Other than type 2 fiber atrophy, no specific abnormalities were identified in histopathologic examinations of muscle biopsies from the left pelvic limb. Serum acetylcholine receptor (AChR) antibody titer was increased (0.78 nmol/L reference range, less than 0.6 nmol/L), confirming a diagnosis of acute fulminating myasthenia gravis. The dog dramatically responded to pyridostigmine bromide and had marked improvement in muscle strength, megaesophagus, and respiratory function. The dog has been successfully managed for 7 months after initial treatment.

This study aims to provide suggestions for the development of educational contents on historical events that can solve the existing curriculum's problems, such as the disproportionate weight given to Western historical events. The study focuses on content ranging from the start of the Agricultural Revolution (7000 BC.) to the start of the Industrial Revolution (AD. 1760). The results are as follows. We used the Delphi technique for deriving global historical events. Among them, 56 historical events were selected as the data for Social Network Analysis (SNA). The results of SNA showed that topics related to Civilization has a high priority. In addition, the results of a coagulation analysis showed the events can be divided into seven groups. The classification criteria is different from the criteria used for the current period. We expect that the suggested framework developed for historical contents will constitute a new approach to historical interpretation through network visualization and linkage analysis.

An epulis was occurred on gingiva of 11-year old female dog, Yorkshire terrier. Our case had feature of ossifying epulis but there were a few multi-nucleated giant cells (MGCs). MGCs had osteoclast-like appearance and giant cell epulis usually appears at the site of tooth extraction. Therefore, we suggest that appearance of MGCs in our case may be due to phagocytosis pre-formed osteoid/bone or our case may be mixed epulides of ossifying and giant cell epulis by mixed stimulation of chronic gingivitis and trauma and in flammation by tooth extraction. Thus, MGCs have possibility enough to appear in ossifying epulis, but ossifying epulis accompanying MGCs has not been reported. Therefore, our case may deserves an attention as an unique case and will be helpful to study pathogenesis of giant cell containing lesion of the jaw.

본 논문에서 추구하고저 하는 대상은 이미 필자가 지상에 발표한 바 있는 "과도시에 있어서의 철심변압기 회로의 해석"에서 유도한 결과식을 모체로 하여, 돌입전류를 해석함과 동시에 돌입전류 실용식을 유도하였다. 이렇게 유도한 실용식은 거대한 돌입전류의 억제조건을 규명하는데 유용할 뿐만아니라, 돌입전류의 발생빈도를 평가하는 척도가 되는 돌입전류발생확률식(probability equations of inrush current occurrence)의 유도를 가능케 한다. 그리고 이렇게 유도한 제 실용식의 정당함을 뒷받침하기 위하여 실험도 병행하였으며, 그 결과는 실험수치와 실험곡선으로 나타내어 실용식에 의거한 계산치와 비교하였다. 필자의 원래의 의도는 변압기의 이차측의 부하를 비단 저항 부하에만 국한할 것이 아니라, 더욱 일반적인 임피던스 부하(impedance load)의 범위까지 확대시키려는것이었으나, 그 해석이 너무 복잡하고 양이 방대하므로, 자신을 상실한 나머지 이를 단념하고 말았다. 그리고 여기서 유도한 제 실용식은 상용 주파수에서 사용되는 전력용 일반 변압기에 적용되나, 그 밖의 특수 목적으로 설계된 변압기에 대해서는 하등의 보장이 없음을 부언한다. 없음을 부언한다.
