  • 전력계통의 평상시 전류개폐, 고장구간을 신속히 차단 및 재투입하기 위해 차단기(CIRCUIT BREAKER)를 설치 운영하고 있다. 차단기를 조작방식에 따라 분류해 보면 압축공기압 조작방식과 유압 조작방식, 전동스프링 조작방식으로 크게 나눌 수 있으며 본 연구는 최근에 지속적으로 지연동작을 일으키는 압축공기 조작방식의 문제점 분석과 대책을 마련하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 MVDC(Medium-Voltage DC) 차단기의 성능평가를 수행하기 위해 사용되는 단락 시험 설비의 새로운 구조를 제시한다. 단락 시험 설비는 직류 고전압과 고전류를 발생시키고 이러한 조건에서 차단기의 개폐 성능을 검증한다. 고전압과 고전류를 단일 회로로 합성하는 구조의 경우, 단락 시험 설비의 규모와 전력용량이 매우 크다. 제시하는 단락 시험 설비는 별개의 회로인 고전류원과 고전압원으로 구성된다. 각 회로에서 직류 고전압과 고전류를 발생시켜 단락 시험을 수행하는 구조이다. 제시하는 단락 시험 설비의 구조와 동작 원리를 설명하고 시뮬레이션 분석을 통하여 그 성능을 검증하였다.

Investigation of Electromagnetic Force for Magnetic Contactor of Railway Vehicles (철도차량용 전자접촉기 전자코일의 전자기력 특성 연구)

  • A magnetic contactor is a switching device widely used for electric circuits. For the operation of magnetic contactors, magnetic coils are essential; these coils create and interrupt the electric circuit. In this paper, the finite element analysis model was developed to reflect the experimental data, and was verified through alteration of the applied voltages and the numbers of turns. Effects of electromagnetic force on the geometrical variations of the facing poles for fixed and moving cores of two magnet coils were investigated. In addition, effects of slope and air gap size between two facing poles on the electromagnetic force were explored through the distribution of the magnetic flux density in the magnetic coils of a push-type solenoid. Through this analysis, the characteristics of the electromagnetic force against the facing poles were explored.

  • CSD is Active RFID based Container Security Device which is proposed by the U.S Department of Home Security. It is mounted inside the container to sense opening of the container door. ConTracer is the CSD which is developed in this research whose major features are sensing door opening status as well as history inquiring on internal environment and shock to the container by mounting the temperature/humidity/shock sensors. Moreover, its RFID frequency bandwidth uses 433MHz and 2.4GHz to correspond actively to the radio regulations used by different countries. This paper introduces the development trend of CSD, compares the ConTracer which is developed thru this research and other company's CSD, and introduces CSD System which is designed and established using ConTracer. Finally, the implemented CSD System is verified by applying the demonstration service to container distribution between Korea and China.

  • Door hinges of large refrigerators are required to ensure that the doors open and close smoothly in addition to supporting door weights and enduring the impact loads due to door opening and closing. However, door hinge design is difficult because of complex hinge mechanisms and sensitive structural safety. In this study, the mechanism satisfying the required spring response, space constraints, and structural strength is optimized, and the volume of the outer frame covering the hinge mechanism is minimized for reducing production costs. The entire design process is automated using the PIDO(Progress Integration and Design Optimization) technique, which achieves an efficient design process. Therefore, the frame mass is reduced to 24%, and the mechanism performance and structural stability are improved.

  • It is essential for micro jet injectors in the biomedical sector to operate under high pressure. High pressure injection, however, is accompanied by high volumes. On/Off valves that can be operated at high speeds have been used to address this problem. In this research, piezoelectric actuators which have a response frequency of the order of hundreds of kilohertz were used as the On/Off valve and experiments were applied. Researchers developed a controller to precisely manipulate the piezoelectric valve with various waveforms. They also fabricated five types of nozzles to consider the effect of nozzle type on injection. This allowed researchers to manipulate and confirm factors that can affect the injection volume and force. Results of this experiment have shown how to decrease the injection volume and increase the injection force. and it is predicted that the optimized injection volume and force value can be determined depending on the skin type.

  • In the power distribution panel installed in airport or industrial facilities, MCCB has been used for main switch and ELCB for branch switch to perform human body and leakage-inducing fire protection as well as overcurrent and short circuit protection. Especially for the airport panel, increase in accident protection is needed for stable power supply due to rapid modernization with fast-growing users, higer capacity and diversification of equipment, the increase of power capacity and the breaker made slim is a main issue for now because the issue for installation space is standing out by making panel with two-row arrangement connection method, etc. due to a many use of branch ELCBs. In this thesis, we designed arc extinguishing mechanism, considered movement direction change of contact in mechanism design. Also, we designed the breaker to work stably in case of miniaturization of leakage detection circuit and reverse connection. We conducted short circuit test to verify its function and developed the breaker that can be improved protection against accidental current with slim size operating leakage function when reverse connection to help solve the problem in using space that is increasing in the airport distribution panel.

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance and reliability of the next-generation KRTCS (Korea Radio Train System) network. The KRTCS has been designed to manage and control the overall status of trains including location, speed, stop position, door open/close status and interior monitoring and so forth. System faults of the KRTCS operation can lead to the disruption of smooth train flow, even to terrible traffic accident. Prior to installation we need to assure the reliability of the designed KRTCS system. For this purpose, we simulated and analyzed the KRTCS network using QualNet simulator, assuming the various environmental operation data of train flows and communication faults that can be found in real telecommunication networks.

  • A subway platform is equipped with screen doors in oder to avoid accidents of passengers, where Area sensors are installed for detecting obstacles in the screen doors. However, there exist frequent operating errors in screen doors due to dusts, sunlight, snow, and bugs. It is required to develope a detection device which reduces errors and elaborates detection function. In this paper, we compared the detection rates of the Area sensor the 3D sensor using CCTV-based image data with installing sensors at the screen door in Munyang station Daegu, where 3D sensor is applied with the space division multiple detection algorithms. It is measured that the detection rate of 3D sensor and Area sensor is approximately 89.61% and 78.88%, respectively. The results confirmed that 3D senor has higher detection rate compared with Area sensor with the rate of 6.87~9.79%, and 3D sensor has benefit in the aspect of installation fee.

  • In this paper, automotive safety and convenience service is proposed based on bluetooth and smart watch. The proposed service performs accident detection, kidnapping detection, kid-left-alone-in-car detection, parking location recording, and smart key function. Conventional smartphone services often fails to precisely recognize accident and kidnapping situations since smartphone is located on the dashboard or in the bag. On the contrary, smartwatch recognizes accident and kidnapping situations more precisely since it is always worn on the wrist with hearbeat monitoring. The proposed service recognise various situations around drives and passengers using acceleration sensor, GPS sensor, heartbeat sensor and bluetooth link status. It also performs accident notice, sound recording, and other necessary actions. It also performs door opening, door closing, hazard light flickering, and other necessary actions using OBD-II connection to the vehicle.
