  • The insulation is a important part of cable. In thisb paper, measured the insulation resistance for analysing of change of insulation resistance by filler on low voltage multicore cables. The insulation resistance is not effected by only insulation material, but also filler material. The insulation resistance is different with measuring before filling and after filling by filler. When develope the new filler or cable, the volume resistance of filler must be considered.

  • 산소와 질소의 단순 화합물질인 산화질소 (nitric oxide) 는 생체내의 다양한 작용을 야기하는 시그날 물질로 주목을 받고 있으며 이의 작용에 대한 연구가 광범위하게 진행되고 있다. 본 논문을 통하여 저자는 수정란 대사에 미치는 산화질소 작용규명이 지금까지 어떻게 진행되어 왔는지 소개하였으며 본 물질에 대한 최근 연구결과를 설명하였다. 일련의 실험결과 산화질소는 수정란의 초기발생 저해인자로 작용하며 수정란 배양 중의 산화질소작용 억제에 의하여 배반포 발생이 현저히 증가한다는 사실을 밝혀냈다. 참고로 본 논문내용은 Mol. Reprod. Dev. (1998), Theriogenology (1999) 및 Fertil. Steril. (in press)에 개재된 연구결과를 요약한 것이다.

Study of the Weld Defects Identification Method by Ultrasonic Pulse Echo Patterns (초음파 펄스 에코 패턴으로 용접 결함 식별 방법 연구)

  • This study examined the ultrasonic pulse reflection method(UPRM) for testing each ultrasonic pulse waveform model(UPWM) based on weld defects. The sharp crack of a clear signal was generated. The echo height of the defective probes changed according to the location. In a long crack in a circle around the defective probes, the Swivel scanning echo height when using the particle was reduced drastically. The peaks in the echo were thin because the needle was pointed. The porosity defects arising from a single echo was sharp and crisp, but a number of pores of the collective reflection overlapped and ajagged echo was observed. Slag, slag inclusions, cracks, and defects at the Swivel scan of each particle using the echo shape showed difference in the degree. Cracks were revealed as sudden changes in the echo height of the slag inclusions: increase ${\rightarrow}$ decrease ${\rightarrow}$ increase ${\rightarrow}$ decrease. In addition, the location of a number of defects in the dense pore geometry, such as a typical echo sundry, revealed the shape in the slag. Poor penetration of the defect echo, revealed the cracks to have a sharp-edged, crack-like shape with an echo.

An Analytical Study on Prestrain and Shape Memory Effect of Composite Reinforced with Shape Memory Alloy (형상기억합금 강화 복합재의 사전 변형률과 형상기억 효과에 대한 이론적 고찰)

  • A new three-dimensional model for predicting the relationship between the prestrain of the composite and the amount of phase transformation of shape memory alloy inducing shape memory effect has been proposed by using Eshelby's equivalent inclusion method with Mori-Tanaka's mean field theory. The model composite is aluminum matrix reinforced with short TiNi fiber shape memory alloy, where the matrix is work-hardening material of power-law type. The analytical results predicted by the current model show that most of the prestrain is induced by the plastic deformation of the matrix, except the small prestrain region. The strengthening mechanism of the composite by the shape memory effect should be explained by excluding its increase of yield stress due to the work-hardening effect of the matrix.

A Statistical Study of Foreign Body in Food and Air Passage (식도 및 기도이물의 통계적 고찰)

  • We have observed foreign body in food and air passage in 138 cases during the period from Jan. 1972 to Dec. 1980 in E.N.T. department of Kyung Hee university hospital. The following results were obtained. 1) Age distribution was predominent in under 5 years old showing 102 cases (73.9%). 2) Distribution of location was 132 cases in food passage and 6 cases in air passage. 3) In food passage, malewas 81 cases (61.4%). In air passage, male was 4 cases(66.7%). 4) Coin was the most frequent foreign body in food passage. Others were metals, meats, bony pieces, and shell. 5) Distribution of lodgement was frequent in first narrowing of esophagus. 6) Duration of lodgement was 112 cases (84.8%) within 24 hours in food passage and 4 cases (66.7%) within 24 hours in air passage.

High Cyclic Fatigue Life and Fracture Behaviors of Shot-Peened Bearing Steel (쇼트피닝 처리를 한 베어링강의 고사이클 피로수명 및 파괴거동)

  • Shot-peening effects on the fatigue behavior of bearing steel were investigated under the high cyclic loading. Hourglass shape specimens were made of bearing steel(JIS-SUJ2) for rotary bending fatigue tests. Two kinds of treatments were performed : a heat treatment and a shot-peened surface treatment after the heat treatment. The fracture surfaces of specimens were classified into two types of fracture mode : the surface fracture mode induced by a surface defect and the internal fracture mode induced by a nonmetallic inclusion. Inclusion depth and shape affected considerably the fatigue life. Shot-peening treatment improved much the fatigue life of the bearing steel under low and high levels of cyclic loads. Probabilistic-stress-life (P-S-N) curves were suggested for the reliable fatigue life estimation of the improved bearing steel.

  • As a demand of high-end steel raises, the importance of secondary refinement process also increases. However, the content of each component in molten steel, slag and inclusions change with the time, meaning the secondary refinement process is not an equilibrium state. Furthermore, many reactions occur between molten steel, slag, inclusion, refractory and alloying element during secondary refinement process. In order to consider the above complex reactions with non-equilibrium state, a few researchers developed kinetic models in secondary refinement process based on the experimental numerical equations. It is important to analyze and review to the previously reported models to develop a precise model. Therefore, in present study, the complex reaction models based on kinetic in secondary refinement process were analyzed, reviewed, and introduced. Moreover, the single reaction models also introduced which would be applied to the complex reaction models.

A statistical survey of the foreign bodies in the food and air passages (식도 및 기도이물의 통계적고찰)

  • The authors have been performed a statistical survey for 228 cases with foreign bodies in the food and air passages who had visited the department of Otolaryngology, National Medical Center and removed endoscopically during the period of last 10 years from 1966 to 1975. The following results were obtained: 1. The total numbers of foreign bodies in the food and the air passages were 228 cases, and among of them 181 cases were foreign bodies in the food passage and 47 cases were foreign bodies in the air passage. The ratio between the food and the air passages was about 3.7 : 1. 2. The prevalent foreign bodies in the esophagus were coin, meat and food particles and bone in order of frequency. In air passage, bean and peanut were most prevalent foreign bodies and the next were metalic substances, fish bone in order of frequency. 3. In the age incidence, 65.4% of the esophageal foreign bodies and 67.6% of foreign bodies in the air passage were under 5 years of age especially coin, 92.9%. 4. In sex distribution, 99 cases were female, and the ratio between male and female was 1.3:1. There was no significant difference between male and female in the foreign bodies of the esophagus but the foreign bodies in the air passage were more prevalent in male as the ratio of 2.1:1. 5. The most prevalent site of lodgement in esophagus was first physiologic narrowing of the esophagus as the count of 83.8%. In foreign bodies of the air passage, bronchial foreign bodies were most frequent. And bronchial foreign bodies were more frequent in the right side as the ratio of 3.7:1. 6. In duration of lodgement, 56.0% of foreign bodies of the food passage were removed within 24 hours and almost of them were removed within 5 days. In foreign bodies in the air passage, only 32.4% were removed within 24 hours but 29.7% were removed within more than 1 week in the air passage. 7. Under the esophagoscope, granulation tissue were noted in the 5 cases of the foreign bodies in the esophagus due to foreign bodies. In foreign bodies of the air passage, complication were encountered in the 4 cases and also removed surgically and among of them, 2 patients were expired due to complications during post operative course.

기계부품의 피로파괴사례 및 방지대책

  • 피로파괴의 발생원인을 살펴보면 다음과 같이 4가지로 구별된다. (1) 설계불량 (2) 가공불량 (3) 소재불량 (4) 부적절한 사용 그러나 현재 기계설계시 일반적으로 형상계수 및 충격계수를 포함한 안전율을 여유있게 고려하기 때문에 피로강도가 간접적으로 설계시 반영되어 피로파괴는 주로 가공이나 원소재 불량 및 사용상의 부주의에 의한 경우가 대부분이다. 즉 기계가공 도중에 노치가 유입되어 응력집중을 발생시키거나, 규정된 표면처리 혹은 열처리가 이루어지지 못해서 재료의 피로강도가 저하한 경우가 많으며, 소재 역시 비금속 개재물이 다량 함유되어 있거나 열처리 특성이 조악한 소재가 사용되어 요구되는 강도를 확보하지 못한 경우도 많다. 그 반면 사용자 측에서도 설계강도를 무시한 과부하를 인가하거나, 부식환경 혹은 고온에서 사용하여 피로파괴를 촉진시키는 경우도 있으므로 사용자도 설계조건을 인식하여 그 한계를 넘지 않도록 해야 한다. 피로파괴는 단순한 원인에 의한 경우가 적고 복잡한 여러 형상이 중첩되는 경우가 많기 때문에 해석하기 어려운 경우가 많다. 결국 피로 파괴의 방지는 피로강도를 저하시킬 수 있는 요인들을 종합하여 설계단계에서부터 최종 사용단계까지 지속적인 관리에 의해서만 달성 될 수 있다.

Ti 및 S 함유 용강중 Mg-gas 취입기술 개발을 위한 기초 연구

  • Ti 및 S를 함유하는 강종의 연속주조시 노즐막힘 현상이 자주 발생한다. 이러한 강종의 연주기술과 생산성을 향상 시키기 위해서는 노즐막힘 발생을 방지하기 위한 새로운 기술의 개발이 필요하다. 노즐막힘은 노즐내벽에 개재물의 부착으로 인해 발생되는 것으로 용강의 물성 혹은 내화물 재질의 개선을 통하여 방지하거나 저감할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 노즐내 용강에 Mg 증기를 취입하였을 때의 내화물과 용강 계면에서의 반응 및 현상에 대하여 조사하고 내화물/용강계면에서의 생성물 분석과 용강중 S와 Ti의 농도에 따른 노즐 내화물과의 접촉각을 측정하였다. Mg증기는 MgO-Al 혼합물을 가열함으로 Al에 의한 Mg 의 환원반응에 의해 발생되며, 온도와 MgO와 Al 분말의 입도에 따른 Mg증기 발생거동에 대하여 고찰한다.
