  • This study set out to investigate the effects of the same amount of resting(30 minutes) after $VO_2max$ 20%, 40%, and 60% exercise on the variation of cortisol and catecholamine, serum stress hormones. The research efforts led to the following conclusions: First, there were no significant differences in serum cortisol concentration between the $VO_2max$ 20% group and the $VO_2max$ 40% group, but there were some significant differences in the significance level of p=.002 in the $VO_2max$ 60% group. Second, there were no significant differences in serum catecholamine concentration between the $VO_2max$ 20% group and the $VO_2max$ 40% group, but there were some significant differences in the significance level of p=.001 in the $VO_2max$ 60% group. Third, no significant differences were found in the changing rates of serum cortisol concentration between right after exercise and during break among different levels of exercise intensity according to measuring time. Fourth, there were significant differences in the changing rates of serum catecholamine concentration in the significance level of p=.000 right after exercise and in the significance level of p=.034 during break In short, there were significant differences only in the $VO_2max$ 60% group according to exercise intensity when the different groups took the same amount of break after exercise. The $VO_2max$ 60% group was also the only group that showed significant differences in the changing rates of cortisol and catecholamine. In conclusion, taking a break after exercise can generate huge effects only when the exercise intensity level is moderate or higher. That is, taking a break will have no significant effects when the exercise intensity level is lower than moderate.

  • The present study explored how 1) individuals' perception about attributes of exercise/fitness apps and 2) their motivation for exercise/fitness behaviors influence perceived usefulness and usage of the apps. A survey of 323 males and females in their 20's and 30's revealed that attributes of apps that satisfy their basic psychological needs are crucial in promoting perceived usefulness and usage of the apps. Participants were more likely to perceive exercise/fitness apps useful as they perceive them having more attributes related to autonomy and competence. The perception regarding relatedness attributes did not have the main effect on perceived usefulness but showed an interaction effect with relative autonomous motivation. This convergence study which examined health apps from the perspectives of psychology and public health provides practical implications to development and evaluation of health apps.

  • As interest in wellness grows, There is a lot of research about monitoring individual health using wearable devices. Accordingly, a variety of methods have been studied to distinguish exercise from daily activities using wearable devices. Most of these existing studies are machine learning methods. However, there are problems with over-fitting on individual person's learning, data discontinuously recognition by independent segmenting and fake activity. This paper suggests a detection method for exercise activity based on the physiological response principle of heart rate up and down during exercise. This proposed method calculates activity intensity and heart rate from triaxial and photoplethysmography sensor to determine a heart rate recovery, then detects exercise by estimating activity intensity or detecting a heart rate rising state. Experimental results show that our proposed algorithm has 98.64% of averaged accuracy, 98.05% of averaged precision and 98.62% of averaged recall.

  • A motion-based sports game uses a motion sensor or a camera to exercise based on body movements, and it is possible to obtain exercise effects such as improving physical strength while enjoying the game. In prior works, various studies such as usability evaluation has been conducted on motion-based sports games. However, there has been no discussion about how the exercise effect is exerted on users when experiencing motion-based sports games as individual or team play. This study compared the user's exercise effects by analyzing the user's ECG (Electrocardiogram) sensor and the Kinect sensor's skeletal information using Nintendo Switch game that is played individually and as a team. In this paper, the experimental design and method, the quantitative measurement results based on ECG and Kinect, and the results of the post-test subjective measurement are discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the personalized treacmill exercise analysis using a smart mirror based on Kinect sensor. To evaluate the performance of the development system, 10 health males were used to measure the range of the hip joint, knee joint, and ankle joint using a smart mirror when walking on a treadmill. For the validity and reliability of the development system, the validity and reliability were analyzed by comparing the human movement data measured by the Kinect sensor with the human movement data measured by the infrared motion capture device. As a result of validity verification, the correlation coefficient r=0.871~0.919 showed a high positive correlation, and through linear regression analysis, the validity of the smart mirror system was 88%. Reliability verification was conducted by ICC analysis. As a result of reliability verification, the correlation coefficient r=0.743~0.916 showed high correlation between subjects, and the consistency for repeated measurement was also very high at ICC=0.937. In conclusion, despite the disadvantage that Kinect sensor is less accurate than the motion capture system, Kinect is it has the advantage of low price and real-time information feedback. This means that the Kinect sensor is likely to be used as a tool for evaluating exercise prescription through human motion measurement and analysis.

  • It is possible to manage individual exercise information using a smartphone application that may be attached to exercise equipment. We propose a service platform that provides effective exercise techniques and management information to athletes by establishing an AI module to analyze and present the current user's exercise volume and exercise intensity direction through analysis of exercise data. To this end, it can be effectively managed by establishing a system based on a cloud environment and builds a hybrid health model that utilizes air and magnetic technologies at the same time.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a metadata AP for managing the person and organization name authority data in the National Debt Redemption Movement Digital Archive, a small-scale digital archive. The design principles and core metadata elements were derived by analyzing person/organization(group or corporateBody) metadata standards, implementation practices, and guidelines of libraries and archives, and mapped to the National Debt Redemption Movement person/organization name thesaurus data and the Wikidata Linked Metadata Model, resulting in 10 elements in the identification area, 14 elements in the content area, 8 elements in the relationship area, and 4 elements in the control area. A simple structure schema was applied so that it can be applied even in small organizations, and for interoperability, the schema was proposed with reference to DublinCore and SKOS schemes, and the applicability was confirmed based on actual data. The results of this study can be utilized as a basis for institutions that recognize the importance of data management but have difficulty in applying it in practice, when they want to prepare a system for managing their own authority data.
