Dual-rotor Wind Turbine Generator System Modeling and Simulation (이중 로터 풍력발전 시스템 모델링 및 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, an efficient method for modeling a dual-rotor type wind turbine generator system and simulation results are presented. The wind turbine is treated as a collection of several rigid bodies, each of which represents, respectively, main and auxiliary rotor blades, high/low speed shafts, generator, and gear system. Simulation software WINSIM is developed to implement the proposed modeling method and is used to investigate the transient and steady-state performance of the wind turbine system.

  • This study is concerned with the cold forging of sintered preform by rotary forging process and direct powder compacting process. An experiment has been carried out using the rotary powder forging press (500kN) which had been designed and equipped with the rotational conical die inclined to the central axis of the press at certain angle The effect of process variables was observed and measured by several mechanical test, such as hardness distribution density, and microstructure of the specimens. It is found that the highly densified P/M parts can be obtained and this process is very effective for improving quality of the powder products.

  • The power control system of Smart UAV is similar to the propeller pitch governing concept of turboprop aircraft. The pilot inputs the engine power directly and the pitch governor controls the propeller pitch to maintain the propeller RPM. The manual back-up system of PW206C engine is used for the engine power control of Smart UAV. Engine performance estimation program is used to predict the control range of power lever arm(PLA) angle according to the variation of flight altitude and speed. These data provide a guide for the engine control in manual mode operation.

  • Magnetic disturbance is one of the main factors that deteriorate the accuracy of orientation estimation methods based on inertial/magnetic sensor signals. This paper proposes a parallel Kalman filter(KF) that explicitly detects magnetic disturbances and thus can accurately estimate 3D orientation in magnetically disturbed environments. Due to the parallel nature of the proposed KF, even severe magnetic disturbances only affect yaw estimation, while roll and pitch values remain accurate. Consequently, the proposed KF can be effectively used in various applications that involve magnetically inhomogeneous environments, such as robots, ships, and planes.

  • In view of the fact that marine casualties have more often occurred recently, there is a need for ship-handling simulator as a useful tool for maritime training, safety assessment and so on. Moreover various kinds of hull forms have appeared for the purpose of improving ship manoeuvrality. Therefore ship-handling simulator is in need of a database for various ships, and it can make diverse maneuvering simulations possible to apply respective mathematical model to ship-handling simulator. In this paper, we adopted twin-screw and twin-rudder ship and discussed mathematical model of maneuvering motions for her. It was discussed from the viewpoint of hull damping forces at low advance speed and interaction between hull, propeller and rudder. Using this model, maneuvering motion of twin-screw and twin-propeller ship was simulated numerically and her principal manoeuvrability was examined.

  • Cohesive and frictional materials such as concrete and soil are pressure dependent. In general, failure criterion for such materials inclined with respect to positive hydrostatic axis in Haigh-Westergaard stress space. Consequently, inelastic volumetric strain always positive with associated flow rule. In this study, to overcome this shortcoming, non-associated flow rule which controls volumetric component of plastic flow is adopted. Numerical analysis based on a constitutive model using nonuniform hardening plasticity with five parameter failure criterion and non-associated flow rule has conducted to predict concrete behavior under multi-axial stress state and verified with experimental result.

  • Many golf balls have wrong rotation axis owing to bad production and scratch. A flying golf ball makes sliced or curved motion mainly to owing the wrong rotation axis of golf ball. Dimples of golf ball make a golf ball higher and more straight flying. When we hit a golf ball by driver or iron club, the dimpled ball flies straight and rotates as well. While the ball flying, the rotating axis of the ball convergence. And this makes the ball motion curved. If we hit a golf ball in direction of the rotation axis, the flying ball makes straight motion. In this paper, we develop a control system to detect convergence axis and time of flying golf ball based on vision system. To show validity of the developed system, We experimented several case for dimpled golf balls.

사회연결망이론(Social Network Theory)을 이용한 온라인 게임개발사와 게임퍼블리셔간의 관계분석

  • 온라인 게임은 국내뿐만 아니라 전세계적으로 선풍적인 인기를 끌고 있다. 국내 온라인 게임 시장규모가 영화산업의 규모를 뛰어넘으면서 게임 마케팅의 대상이 일부 게임 매니아에서 다양한 연령으로 확대되고 있다. 또한 시장규모의 확대로 다양한 개발사와 퍼블리셔가 출현하게 되었다. 온라인 게임 서비스 초기에는 게임 개발사가 게임에 대한 퍼블리싱도 같이 하는 경우가 많았으나, 차츰 개발과 퍼블리싱의 영역이 나눠지고 있는 추세다. 게임개발사는 새로운 아이디어를 기반으로 게임 개발에만 집중하고, 퍼블리셔는 안정적인 마케팅과 서비스에 최선을 다하는 모습을 보이고 있다. 게임산업의 핵심 축인 게임 개발사와 게임 퍼블리셔간에 어떠한 관계를 맺고 있는지 사회연결망이론을 통해 분석한 결과, 개발사와 게임 퍼블리셔간의 연결망이 일부 퍼블리셔에 집중되는 모습과 개발사가 퍼블리셔의 역할을 동시에 함으로써 다른 망과 연결되지 못하는 모습을 보였다. 또한, 게임종류별로 특화된 퍼블리셔가 존재하며, 일부 게임개발사는 여러 퍼블리셔와 연결되는 모습을 보이고 있다.

Macro Model for Nonlinear Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Walls (철근콘크리트 벽체의 비선형 해석을 위한 거시 모델)

  • Reinforced concrete walls subjected to cyclic loading show complicated inelastic behaviors varying with aspect ratio, re-bar detail, and loading condition. In the present study, a macro model for nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete walls was developed. For exact prediction of inelastic flexure-compression and shear behaviors, the macro model of the wall was idealized with longitudinal and diagonal uniaxial elements. The uniaxial elements consist of concrete and re-bars. Simplified cyclic models for concrete and re-bars under uniaxial loading was used. For verification, the proposed model was applied to slender, lowrise, and coupled walls subjected to cyclic loading. The results showed that the proposed method predicted the nonlinear behaviors of the walls with reasonable precision.

Transition Prediction of compressible Axi-symmetric Boundary Layer on Sharp Cone by using Linear Stability Theory (선형 안정성 이론을 이용한 압축성 축 대칭 원뿔 경계층의 천이지점 예측)

  • In this study, the transition Reynolds number of compressible axi-symmetric sharp cone boundary layer is predicted by using a linear stability theory and the -method. The compressible linear stability equation for sharp cone boundary layer was derived from the governing equations on the body-intrinsic axi-symmetric coordinate system. The numerical analysis code for the stability equation was developed based on a second-order accurate finite-difference method. Stability characteristics and amplification rate of two-dimensional second mode disturbance for the sharp cone boundary layer were calculated from the analysis code and the numerical code was validated by comparing the results with experimental data. Transition prediction was performed by application of the -method with N=10. From comparison with wind tunnel experiments and flight tests data, capability of the transition prediction of this study is confirmed for the sharp cone boundary layers which have an edge Mach number between 4 and 8. In addition, effect of wall cooling on the stability of disturbance in the boundary layer and transition position is investigated.
