The purpose of this study is introduce the spiral taping treatment on Temporomandibular Disorder in oral Medicine. The taping treatment is relatively simple and dosen't have any adverse effect, so it has high stability and superior effect of treatment. In this study, using the spiral taping treatment as one of the effective taping treatments, non-stretched tape was attatched to the muscles which set limit to the range of joint movement and cause pain to temporomandibular joint. With that treatment this study tried to make effective results of treatment of temporomandibular disorder. These results suggest spiral taping treatments contribute to the improvement of tempermandibular disorders. Further this study is needed for the confirmation of this effect of spiral taping treatments on temporomandibular disorders.

Osteochondroma is the most common benign bone tumor. The majority of osteochondromas (85%) present as solitary, nonhereditary lesions. In general, osteochondroma has no symptoms, however, facial asymmetry, malocclusion, crossbite and mouth opening can be occurred in case of temporomandibular joint involved. Radiologic analyses are indispensable element to diagnose osteochondroma and pathogenetic analysis showed that hereditary multiple osteochondromas are caused by mutations in either of two genes: exostosis(multiple)-1 (EXT1), which is located on chromosome 8q24.11 - q24.13 or exostosis(multiple)-2 (EXT2), which is located on chromosome 11p11 - 12. Recently, reduced mRNA of EXT1 was described in nonhereditary osteochondromas. The treatment of choice for osteochondroma is surgical unless the skeleton is still immature. Surgery associated with orthodontic treatment can be a valid approach to minimize facial asymmetry and malocclusion in case of temporomandibular with osteochondroma.
New design method of R/C slab system based on finite element method has been presented. The proposed method can substitute inaccurate existing method, which has limitation in its application, and provide accurate and efficient design results for any type of slab system. Isoparametric plate element used in the slab design has been efficiently formulated to save computational time. Reinforcement has been determined by strength design method and compared with code minimum values. Graphical output through comprehensive contour map for resulting moments and designed steel areas has considerably facilitated design process. Accurate shear results from isoparametric plate element enabled to check punching shear in a proper manner. In addition to strength design criteria, serviceability has also been checked by utilizing newly developed inelastic deflection multiplier method. An example for circular slab with opening showed that the proposed method could be applied to design of irregular slab without any difficulty.

In patients with myasthenia gravis, it is difficult to manufacture and maintain dentures because the muscles and nervous system in the oral cavity are not properly adjusted. In addition, excessively extended or thick dentures may cause muscle weakness by stimulating the muscles, so dentures should be manufactured in consideration of this. In this case, a denture was fabricated using the closed mouth technique in a patient with myasthenia gravis with mouth opening limitation. Using the closed mouth technique, the patient's masticatory pressure and muscle movements were reproduced and denture with good retention were manufactured.

In the field of automatic target recognition(ATR) with synthetic aperture radar(SAR) imagery, it is usually impractical to obtain SAR target images covering a full range of aspect views. When the database consists of SAR target images with limited angular diversity, it can lead to performance degradation of the SAR-ATR system. To address this problem, this paper proposes a deep learning-based method where channel attention modules(CAMs) are inserted to a convolutional neural network(CNN). Motivated by the idea of the squeeze-and-excitation(SE) network, the CAM is considered to help improve recognition performance by selectively emphasizing discriminative features and suppressing ones with less information. After testing various CAM types included in the ResNet18-type base network, the SE CAM and its modified forms are applied to SAR target recognition using MSTAR dataset with different reduction ratios in order to validate recognition performance improvement under the limited angular diversity condition.

In this study, we investigated the design methods of satellite constellations to conduct near-real-time surveillance reconnaissance of the Korean Peninsula. Also, we designed satellite constellations utilizing the Walker-Delta method and repeat-ground-track method, and taking into account the target area and the feasible number of satellites. The constrains of the Electro-Optical and Synthetic Aperture Radar equipment were also considered in performance analysis. As a result, the designed constellation has mean revisit time of less than 30 min which enables near-real-time surveillance reconnaissance of the Korean Peninsula. This research provides the strategy to design the satellite constellation for reconnaissance. Furthermore, it contributes to suggesting an operating strategy for micro-satellites constellation and guidelines for establishing space force.
Botulinum toxin injection has been used in the masticatory muscle area as an effective treatment method of various movement disorders and facial contouring, but its effects on jaw function have not been evaluated. The aims of this study were to evaluate the effects of botulinum toxin type A injection into the masseter muscle on the EMG activities of masseter and anterior temporal muscles, and the limitation of jaw function. Fourteen healthy subjects were recruited. Five subjects were injected with 80 units of botulinum toxin type A(Dysport, Ipsen, Wrexham, UK) into each side of masseter muscle, and nine subjects were injected with saline into the same site as the botulinum toxin group. The surface EMG activities at maximum voluntary contraction of masseter and anterior temporal muscles were recorded before, 1 week, 2 weeks, and 3 weeks after injection. Presence of jaw functional limitations in each subject was investigated using Korean version of Jaw Functional Limitation Scale(JFLS) questionnaire. The masseter muscle EMG was gradually decreased in the botulinum toxin group comparing with that of the control group(p<0.001), but the anterior temporal muscle EMG did not show significant changes. There was significant increases in the mastication (p<0.01), and global jaw limitation(p<0.05) subscales of JFLS at 1 week after injection, but no significant changes in the other subscales including opening, and verbal and emotional expression during the recording periods. Our results suggest that botulinum toxin injection into masseter muscle can affect modest limitation in mastication function at 1 week after injection but recovered to the baseline until 3 weeks after injection. The EMG activity of masseter muscle had been gradually decreased until 3 weeks after botulinum toxin injection but the anterior temporal muscle did not show any significant changes.
Three experiments were conducted to investigate effects of dietary energy and protein levels on performance of laying hens. A total of 360 hens each of 352-day old Manina Brown (Exp.1), 280-day old Brown Warren (Exp.2) or 3174ay old Brown Warren (Exp.3) was divided into 20 pens of 18 birds. Each pen was assigned to one of the four dietary treatments with 5 replications according to a 2${\times}$2 factorial design, consisting of all possible cominations of two levels of metabolizable energy (2,500 and 2,800 kcal/kg of diet) and two levels of crude Protein (13 and 16%). All hens were housed two birds per cage. Exp.1 and 2 were conducted for four weeks and hens were fed experimental diets ad libitum, and Exp.3 lasted two weeks and feed consumption was restricted to 130g/hen/day. In Exp.1 and 2, increasing either energy or protein level in the diet numberically improved egg production. However, in Exp. 3, where feed consumption was restricted, egg Production was affected significantly 〈0.05) by the energy levies and numerically by the protein levels. Neither protein nor energy level influenced egg weight in Exp. 1 and 2, but in Exp. 3 the higher level of energy improved egg weight numerically, In all three experiments increasing either protein or energy level increased egg mass. Higher levels of either protein and energy tended to decrease feed consumption and improve feed conversion rate numerically. It should also be noted that the higher level of energy improved egg mass produced per unit intake of protein and the higher level of Protein improved egg mass produced per unit intake of energy.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the functional abilities of the low bulb obturators with those of high bulb obturators in terms of patients' evaluation. Material and methods: This study included 11 maxillectomy patients who underwent postoperative prosthodontic rehabilitations. Two obturators of the same design except for different bulb heights, were fabricated for each of the maxillectomy patient. After two months of alternate use, the functions of the obturators were measured by investigating the patients' subjective evaluations in terms of convenience, speech, nasality, leakage, and mastication and identifying their preferred prostheses. Wilcoxon signed rank test was used as a statistical method (P < .05). Results: There were no significant differences in patient evaluations of low and high bulb obturators (P >.05). And patients' preferences varied. Conclusion: In extreme situation such as in mouth opening limitation, the use of low bulb obturators can be recommended and result in comparable speech function to that of obturators with high lateral walls.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of symptoms and signs of temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD) and malocclusion in 10-12 year old children and to determine if a relationship exists between symptoms and signs of TMD and malocclusion. The subjects were composed of 465 school children (233 boys and 232 girls). Each subject was evaluated with simplified questionnaire and clinical examination to measure symptoms and signs of TMD and malocclusion. The results showed an elevated prevalence of headache (34.6%), which were more frequent in girls than boys. The most common cardinal sign of TMD was clicking (32.9%), which increased with age. TMJ lateral tenderness was present in 18.1% of the subjects and had a tendency to increase with age. Masseter muscle tenderness was found to be sensitive in 15.1%of the subjects and had a tendency to increase with age. Restriction of mandibular mobilitywas present in 30.3% of the subjects and had a tendency to increase with age. There was no significant difference in the prevalence of TMD signs between sex. The occlusal status showed Class I malocclusion in 73.3%, Class III in 12.9%,Class II division 1 in 11%, Class II division 2 in 2.8%. There was no significant difference in malocclusion traits between sex. There was statistically significant relationship between TMD signs and symptoms and class II division 1 and Class III malocclusion(p<0.05). The results indicate that the prevalence of TMD symptoms and signs in children is high, and the evaluation of TMD in children seems to be important.
