A Strength Analysis of the Hull Gilder among the Rough Sea according to Ship Types (대파고 파랑중에서의 선체장도 해석에 관한 연주 - 선종에 따른 강도, 응답특성비교 -)

  • The ship sailing among waves suffers from the various wave loads that comes from its motion throughout its life. In the rationally-based design, the dynamic structural analysis is carried out using dynamic wave loads provided from the results of the ship motion calculation as the rigid body. This method is based on the linear theory assumed low wave height and small amplitude of motion. But at the rough sea condition, relatively high wave compared to the height ship's depth is induced the large ship motion, so configuration of the ship section below waterline changes rapidly at each time. This re-sults in a non-linear problem. Considering above situation we have already introduced the non-linear dynamic strength analysis method for the hull girder(refer vol. 29. No.4 November, 1992, Journal of SNAK). In this paper, estimation of the hull girder strength for various ship types such as tankers, containers and log carriers is carried out based on the introduced non-linear method. We expect that the results will be used as useful basic data for the es-timation of dynamic strength of ships in the rough sea.

  • An automobile crash with a pedestrian generates a trajectory which is crucial to identify the cause of the crash. Previous researches have been carried out for pedestrian movement using simple explicit formulae. The formulae are derived from elementary physics. Therefore, they could not sufficiently include variables of a vehicle and a pedestrian. To overcome such a limitation, a simulation is utilized for the pedestrian behavior in crash environment. A dynamic software called MADYMO is utilized for the simulation. A simulation model is established. The automobile body and a dummy are modeled with rigid bodies, joints and springs. The simulation results are compared with those from explicit formulae. It is found that the explicit formulae did not fit to pedestrian conditions. Simulations are performed for various velocities of automobiles. Results are discussed for the usage of the simulation.

  • The purpose of this research is to develop a full-spectral fatigue analysis program, based on rigid-body ship motion analysis, in order to perform a full-spectral fatigue analysis that considers hydroelasticity effects. To gain credibility, fatigue analysis results of two ship types, performed by the developed program, were compared with those of a classification society, and it was found that both are identical. Full-spectral fatigue analysis considering hydroelasticity effects would be developed in further studies by including flexible-body ship motion analysis results and by supplementing the developed program with a wide-band fatigue damage model.

  • A dynamic fluid-structure-soil interaction analysis method is developed to investigate the effects of translational and/or rocking motions on the seismic response of flexible rectangular liquid storage tanks founded on the deformable ground. The governing equation for the dynamics of 3-D rectangular tanks subjected to the translational and/or rocking motion is abtained by applying Rayleigh-Ritz method. The dynamic stiffness matrices of a rigid rectangular foundation resting on the surface of a stratum overlaid bedrock are calculated by hyperelement method. The seismic responses of 3-D flexible tank model founded on the deformable ground is calculated by combining the governing equation for the fluid-tank system with the dynamic stiffness matrix of th rigid surface foundation.

  • 임상진단에 있어서 종종 문제가 되고 있는 호흡에 따른 두뇌부분의 가상적인 상하이동을 고려해서 위상 엔코드 축인 Y 방향만의 강체의 평행이동을 취급한다. 종래의 발견적인 축차 근사 반복처리에 의한 제거방법과는 달리, 본 연구에서는 MRI 촬상과정과 화상특성의 해석에 근거한 MRI 신호중의 체동성분과 화상성분을 단순한 대수연산에 의해 분리할 수 있는 새로운 구속조건을 도출한다. MRI 신호에 대해서 X 방향의 1차원 푸리에 변환을 행한 후의 Y 방향의 스펙트럼 위상값은 화상자신의 성분과 체동성분의 합이 되고 있다. 한편, 두뇌부위 등의 단층상에 있어서 주위의 피하지방 부분의 밀도는 거의 균일한 것 알려져 있어 이 부분위의 Y 방향의 1 라인 밀도분포를 대칭이라고 간주할 수 있다. 밀도함수가 대칭인 경우 스펙트럼의 위상은 그 위치에 대하여 선형적으로 변화한다. 따라서 이 선형함수로부터 벗어난 성분을 체동성분으로 분리할 수 있다. 이러한 구속조건에 기초를 둔 근거가 명확한 아티팩트의 제거방법을 제안한다. 아울러 본 방법의 유효성을 확인하기 위해 호흡에 의한 주기성의 체동을 가진 MRI 화상에 대해서 시뮬레이션을 행하였다.

Dynamic Behavior of Rigid Circular Foundation in Water-Saturated Transversely Isotropic Layered Stratum (지하수로 포화된 가로등방성 층상지반에 설치된 강체 원형 기초의 동적 거동)

  • If a structure is founded on the ground saturated with pore water, then the ground should be modeled as a saturated two-phase porous medium for accurate earthquake response analysis. In this study, an axisymmetric transmitting boundary hyperelement is developed for modeling of far field of the ground using u-U formulation for water-saturated transversely isotropic layered stratum. The developed hyperelement is verified by comparing the dynamic stiffness of rigid circular foundation on water-saturated isotropic layered stratum with the case of using equivalent single-phase medium model.

  • The contiguous or adjacent foundations are always coupled through the soil. Hence their behavior is quite different due to the interaction effects between or among the foundations. The interaction effects can be very pronounced if the distance between them is very close. An 3-D homogeneous strip hyperelement is developed to analyze the dynamic interaction between rectangular or irregular shape found ations.   • Drilled shafts are used increasingly as the foundations for many types of structures. However, very little knowledge of drilled shaft behavior under inclined load is available. In this study, a systematic experimental testing program was conducted to understand the undrained behavior of drilled shaft foundations under inclined loads. A semi-theoretical method of predicting the inclined capacity was developed through a parametric study of the variables such as shaft geometry and load inclination. Test parameters were chosen to be representative of those most frequently used in the electric utility industry. Short, rigid shafts with varying depth/diameter(D/B) ratios were addressed, and loading modes were investigated that includes exial uplift, inclined uplift, and inclined compression loads. Capacities were evaluated using the structural interaction formula and an equation developed from this experimental study. This new equation models the laboratory data well and is applicable for the limites field data.

Bearing Capacity of Foundation on Sand Overlying Soft Clay (연약한 점토층 위에 놓인 모래지반의 극한지지력에 관한 연구)

  • This Paper applied a simple strength parameter averaging method to double layered systems consisting of the strong sand layer overlying the soft clay deposit. This study derived a formula which defines a critical depth as the strength parameters, and used the correction parameter, $\alpha$ to reduce an error of the strength parameter averaging method. The results of the method were presented in the form of dimensionless charts and were compared with the results of several solutions proposed by Satyanarayana & Grag, Sreenivasulu, and Meyerhof & Hanna. The results of the proposed method coincided with the method of Meyerhof & Hanna and the results obtained from FLAC. But the Satyanarayana & Grag method and the Sreenivasulu method overestimated the bearing capacity. Consequently, the bearing capacity of foundation on sand layer overlying soft clay layer can be approximately estimated by using the proposed dimensionless charts.
