  • This paper presents an $H_{\infty}$ based robust STATCOM supplementary controller design to suppress the SSR in series-compensated line. This controller is designed to have the robust stability against the plant model uncertainty. Time domain simulations using a nonlinear system model show that the proposed STATCOM supplementary controller can suppress the SSR efficiently against the plant model uncertainty

  • In this paper, we are applied the Genetic Algorithm (GA) to design of fuzzy logic controller (FLC) for a DC Servo-Motor Speed Control. GA is used to design of the membership functions and scaling factor of FLC. To evaluate the performances of the proposed FLC, we make an experiment on FLC for the speed control of an actual DC servo-motor system with nonlinear characteristics. Experimental results show that proposed controller have better performance than those of PD controller.

  • This paper designs a ball and beam system using Coefficient Diagram Method (CDM). The ball and beam system is used in many undergraduate control classes to verify a control algorithm or for pure educational purposes. Recently CDM is known to be useful for designing a controller with relatively easy procedure and procedures a low order, no overshoot, and robust controller In this paper. CDM is applied to design a controller for the ball and beam system, and the controller is compared to that of LQG method. The result show that CDM gives better controller than LQG method.

  • In this paper, we propose tuning method of PID-PD controller to satisfy design specifications in frequency domain as well as time domain. The proposed tuning method of PID-PD controller that consist of the convex set of PID and PI-PD controller controls the closed-loop response to locate between the step responses, and Bode magnitudes of closed-loop transfer functions controlled by PID and PI-PD controller. The controller is designed by the optimum tuning method to minimize the proposed specific cost function subject to sensor noise insensitivity and robust stability. Its effectiveness is examined by the case study and analysis.

  • This paper considers the design of robust stabilizing controller of a linear time-invariant digital system subject to variations of parameter vector. For a given controller the radius of the largest stability hypersphere in this parameter space is calculated. This radius is a measure of the stability Margin of the closed-loop system. Based on this calculation a design procedure is proposed to robustify a given stabilizing controller. This algorithm iteratively enlarges the stability hypersphere in parameter space and can be used to design a controller to stabilize a plant subject to given ranges of parameter perturbations. These results are illustrated by an example.

  • In general turret servo system is subject to influnces by disturbances and uncertain modeling errors, which result from large dynamic characteristics and high-spedd operation. In this paper the influences of such disturbances and modeling errors are analyzed quali- tatively for the linerar approximation model of turret servo system, and then LQG/LTR control theory is applied to linear approximation model in order to design a controller which satisfies robustness/stability for the modeling errors. Finally the performance and robustness of designed controller for the given plant are verified through the simulation.

  • 본 논문은 시간지연을 갖는 2차 시스템에서 시간영역의 설계사양을 만족하는 최적 강인 LQ-PID제어기 설계방법을 제안한다. 시간지연을 갖는 2차 시스템의 LQR 해를 이용한 LQ-PID제어기 파라미터는 설계사양을 만족하는 가격함수의 가중치요소 C와 R에 의해 결정되고, Q와 R의 선정은 시간영역에서의 오버슈트와 정착시간을 조절할 수 있는 설계파라미터들 선정에 의해 결정되어진다.

  • This note is concerned with a robust sliding mode control(SMC) for a class of unmatched uncertain system with severe commensurate state time delay. The suggested method is extended to the control of severe state time delay systems with unmatched uncertainties except the matched input matrix uncertainty. A transformed sliding surface is proposed and a stabilizing control input is suggested. The closed loop stability together with the existence condition of the sliding mode on the proposed sliding surface is investigated through one Lemma and two Theorems by using the Lyapunov direct method with the concept of the control Lyapunov function instead of complex Lyapunov-Kravoskii functionals. Through an illustrative example and simulation study, the usefulness of the main results is verified.

  • A recurrent adaptive model-free intelligent control with a friction estimation law is proposed to enhance the positioning performance of the mover in PMLSM system. For the PMLSM with nonlinear friction and uncertainty, an adaptive recurrent fuzzy neural network(ARFNN) and compensated control law in $H_{\infty}$ performance criterion are designed to mimic a perfect control law and compensate the approximated error between ideal controller and ARFNN. Combined with friction observer to estimate nonlinear friction parameters of the LuGre model, on-line adaptive laws of the controller and observer are derived based on the Lyapunov stability criterion. To analyze the effectiveness our control scheme, some simulations for the PMLSM with nonlinear friction and uncertainty were executed.

  • This paper presents a continuous-time robust direct adaptive algorithm in the presence of bounded disturbances and / or unmodeled dynamics. In the new algorithm, Narendra's adaptation law is adapted. And a term, proportional to the product of tracking error and normalizing signal, is added to the conventional control law. It is shown that the performance of the adaptive schemes is improved if a proportional adaptation tera is added to the control law. The scalar case is only discussed in the stability analysis. Computer simulation is presented to complement the theoretical result.
