  • 사용자의 감정을 자동으로 인식하고 3D 캐릭터 애니메이션을 통해 표현한다면 기기를 통한 통신에 더 풍부한 감성을 부여하여 의사 소통의 효과를 높일 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 IPTV와 스마트폰 기기에서 구동되는 감성 메신저의 개발에 대해 기술한다. 이를 위해 문장 및 음색 분석을 통한 감정 인식, 영상 속의 얼굴 표정 추적, 그리고 개인화된 3D 캐릭터의 표정 및 몸동작 애니메이션을 통해 감정을 전달하는 감성 메신저를 제안하고 그 효과를 서술한다. Naive Bayes 알고리즘을 이용한 채팅 문장에서의 자동 감성 인식이 개발되었으며 실험을 통해 성능 및 효과를 검증한다.

Emotion Classification Method Using Various Ocular Features (다양한 눈의 특징 분석을 통한 감성 분류 방법)

  • In this paper, emotion classification was performed by using four ocular features extracted from near-infrared camera image. According to comparing with previous work, the proposed method used more ocular features and each feature was validated as significant one in terms of emotion classification. To minimize side effects on ocular features caused by using visual stimuli, auditory stimuli for causing two opposite emotion pairs such as "positive-negative" and "arousal-relaxation" were used. As four features for emotion classification, pupil size, pupil accommodation rate, blink frequency, and eye cloased duration were adopted which could be automatically extracted by using lab-made image processing software. At result, pupil accommodation rate and blink frequency were statistically significant features for classification arousal-relaxation. Also, eye closed duration was the most significant feature for classification positive-negative.

  • In the environment of instant messengers, the recognition of human emotions and its automated representation with personalized 3D character animations facilitate the use of affectivity in the machine-based communication, which will contribute to enhanced communication. This paper describes an emotional messenger system developed for the automated recognition and expression of emotions for IPTVs (Internet Protocol televisions). Aiming for efficient delivery of users' emotions, we propose emotion estimation that assesses the affective contents of given textual messages, character animation that supports both 3D rendering and video playback, and smart phone-based input method. Demonstration and experiments validate the usefulness and performance of the proposed system.

  • In this study, we tried to produce moving-image works through sentiment analysis of music. First, Google natural language API was used for the sentiment analysis of lyrics, then the result was applied to the image visualization rules. In prior engineering researches, text-based sentiment analysis has been conducted to understand users' emotions and attitudes by analyzing users' comments and reviews in social media. In this study, the data was used as a material for the creation of artworks so that it could be used for aesthetic expressions. From the machine's point of view, emotions are substituted with numbers, so there is a limit to normalization and standardization. Therefore, we tried to overcome these limitations by linking the results of sentiment analysis of lyrics data with the rules of formative elements in visual arts. This study aims to transform existing traditional art works such as literature, music, painting, and dance to a new form of arts based on the viewpoint of the machine, while reflecting the current era in which artificial intelligence even attempts to create artworks that are advanced mental products of human beings. In addition, it is expected that it will be expanded to an educational platform that facilitates creative activities, psychological analysis, and communication for people with developmental disabilities who have difficulty expressing emotions.

The Curriculum Design for Department of Culture and Contents according to Technology Change (기술 변화에 따른 문화 콘텐츠 관련학과 교육과정 개발)

  • Culture contents are connected directly with our lives. Experts who produce culture contents or work at such industry or most of people regardless of age and gender are exposed to media contents like movie, game, animation, broadcasting and advertising. There are a number of users who use smart phones and smart pads which can view such media contents. The era of smart device which people easily surf, watch, and produce media contents will be opened. Therefore, the efficient curriculum for producing more touchable media contents should be developed continuously. Most of people recognize the necessity of educations to enhance creativity at university education. This paper intended to research the method of roles curriculum of university produce culture contents which stimulate emotion, creative and show new technology. This paper suggests academic curriculum for department of culture and contents based on the basics, even though new media device emerges the proper talents can be fostered.

Methodologies to Improve Emotional Image Qualities by Optimizing Technological Image Quality Metrics (기술적인 화질 지표 조절양 최적화를 통한 감성 화질 향상 방안)

  • Emotional image quality optimization methodologies are investigated using technological image quality controls based on the eye tests of various image samples. The images are evaluated based on various contrast, lightness and saturation image quality metric tone curves. The order of importance to image quality enhancements is contrast, saturation and brightness. The slopes of emotional image qualities with respect to technical image quality metric changes are found to be composed of mathematical function modelling with nearly zero, intermediate and maximum slope regions in general, which can reflect well known log and saturated as well as conventional reverse U shape natures. Image quality improvements are analyzed not only with just single but also with multiple image quality metrics. To ease the unified image quality metric analysis and control, a new function is presented to utilize both the newly found and conventional emotional image quality behaviors. It is found that the overall image quality enhancement can be realized only in a few limited cases of multiple image quality metric controls. It is also found that the kinds of image quality enhancement methodologies are not strongly dependent on image contents (genre).

Emotional Factors in Calligraphic TV Drama Title with CM Super (캘리그래피를 활용한 CM Super된 TV 드라마 타이틀의 감성요소)

  • Recently, the emotional design has become one of the central issues. The interest to Calligraphy also has increased. This study is to examine the effect of calligraphic TV title to viewers through questionnaires. As a result of the questionnaire analysis, calligraphic title makes a favorable impression on viewers. On the other hand, viewers have an antipathy to a drama program with a calligraphic title. The appropriate use of calligraphic title is requested. The viewers prefer that CM Super TV drama title is located to the right side in TV screen. They also prefer the animated moving title to colored background title. This study contributes to the further research about the correlation between TV commercial zap-rate and calligraphic title.

Structural study on storytelling of VR contents (VR 콘텐츠의 스토리텔링에 대한 구조적 연구)

  • Modern society is the era of convergence, and storytelling requires the necessity of storytelling in which two types of data types, emotional stories and information, are fused. Particularly, in the case of VR contents, the user must directly participate in the content and select the information through the process of freely searching $360^{\circ}$ space, so that the user can interact with the content immediately. Therefore, there is a limit to access to the existing storytelling method, and it is considered that the implementation of 'convergent storytelling' that meets two areas of sensitivity and information is considered to be an urgent genre. In this paper, we focus on the spatial characteristics of VR contents, and then, as a way to effectively implement 'convergent storytelling' in VR contents, We propose a custom system by organizing the type into a circle structure. Based on this, it is expected that the technology will be developed into a research of a personalized system that meets two areas of emotion and information by utilizing the context recognition process for VR content and interaction in the fourth industrial revolution era.

Facial Expression Research according to Arbitrary Changes in Emotions through Visual Analytic Method (영상분석법에 의한 자의적 정서변화에 따른 표정연구)

  • Facial expressions decide an image for the individual, and the ability to interpret emotion from facial expressions is the core of human relations, hence recognizing emotion through facial expression is important enough to change attitude and decisions between individuals within social relations. Children with unstable attachment development, seniors, autistic group, ADHD children and depression group showed low performance results in facial expression recognizing ability tasks, and active interventions with such groups anticipates possibilities of prevention and therapeutic effects for psychological disabilities. The quantified figures that show detailed change in position of lips, eyes and cheeks anticipates for possible applications in diverse fields such as human sensibility ergonomics, korean culture and art contents, therapeutical and educational applications to overcome psychological disabilities and as methods of non-verbal communication in the globalizing multicultural society to overcome cultural differences.

The Effect of Cognitive Movement Therapy on Emotional Rehabilitation for Children with Affective and Behavioral Disorder Using Emotional Expression and Facial Image Analysis (감정표현 표정의 영상분석에 의한 인지동작치료가 정서·행동장애아 감성재활에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to carry out cognitive movement therapy program for children with affective and behavioral disorder based on neuro science, psychology, motor learning, muscle physiology, biomechanics, human motion analysis, movement control and to quantify characteristic of expression and gestures according to change of facial expression by emotional change. We could observe problematic expression of children with affective disorder, and could estimate the efficiency of application of movement therapy program by the face expression change of children with affective disorder. And it could be expected to accumulate data for early detection and therapy process of development disorder applying converged measurement and analytic method for human development by quantification of emotion and behavior therapy analysis, kinematic analysis. Therefore, the result of this study could be extendedly applied to the disabled, the elderly and the sick as well as children.
