Clinical Significance of Auditory Brainstem Response(ABR) in Speech/Language Disorders (언어발달장애에 있어서 청성뇌간반응의 임상적 의의)

  • Purpose : The study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of auditory brainstem response(ABR) as a screening tool in children with speech and language disorders. Methods : Between January 1, 1999 and December 31, 2001, 139 patients with chief complaints of speech and language delay were recruited from the pediatric neurology clinic, Kyungpook National University Hospital, Daegu, Korea. They had ABR on entry and the clinical data were then analyzed. Results : Fifteen out of 139 cases(10.8%) showed abnormal findings; seven had pervasive developmental disorders, four had developmental language disorders, and four were noted to have other conditions. Among them, seven cases were noted to have conductive hearing loss and eight had sensoryneuronal hearing loss. We also evaluated the normal values in children at the ages of 18 months to seven years. The mean latency of wave I and V were $1.40{\pm}0.13$ and $5.57{\pm}0.26$ respectively. Interpeak latency of I-V was $4.18{\pm}0.24$. Conclusion : Based on these findings, ABR has proved to be a highly sensitive and specific index of hearing impairment. It should be used as a screening tool in children with speech and language disorders.

  • It is very important issue in information design to improve information efficiency by adapting interesting factors in changing circumstance of information communication. The concept of infotainment is utilized in designing information contents in a way of combining entertainment factors with information itself based on various media and representation technologies. The information arousing user's attention, which includes interesting factors, is persuasive message comppared to the informative message conveying only information itself. The reason why infotainment is persuasive is because it makes the user absorb deeply in the information during the process of understanding by sensorial stimuli, cognitive interest, and situational interest. The sensorial stimuli originates from the expression elements of information design. The cognitive interest from the user's intellectual activities has a try to overcome mental block when user confronts with the redundant expression in the manner of unexpectedness and inharmony. The situational interest originates from user's optimum experience by the flow of satisfaction. Therefore, the attribute of infotainment is defined with the stimuli, the redundancy, and user's satisfaction. Its design elements consist of physical factors, organizational factors, and psychological factors. The physical factors through sensorial stimuli are utilized by visual manipulation such as visual analogy or visual pun, multimedia, and moving expression. The organizational factors through redundant expression bring user's imagination by adapting storytelling, event, and interaction in the process of understanding information. The psychological factors through expression of entertainment interests such as humor, play, and game give users psychological satisfaction with the flow. In conclusion the concept of infotainment can be adapted when the design factors should be integrated with its attributes, or the conveying information should go well with its purpose and characteristics.

Understanding Assessment for Feeding Disorders in Autistic Spectrum Disorders: A Literature Review (자폐 스펙트럼 장애 섭식장애 평가의 이해: 문헌 고찰)

  • Objective : Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) commonly suffer from feeding disorders. Major feeding problems include mealtime behavior problems, picky eating, and a lack of food variety can lead to nutritional problems, developmental and social limitations, and stress for the caregivers. A review of the latest literature was conducted to gain an in-depth understanding of assessment tools for feeding disorders in children with ASD. Method : This study analyzed assessments to identify feeding problems in ASD based on previous studies searched through keywords such as ASD, ASD feeding problem, and ASD feeding evaluation. Results : The ASD feeding disorder assessment was divided into direct and indirect assessments. Indirect assessment, in which caregivers measure a child's situation using questionnaires, is mainly used. The assessment of feeding disorders in children with ASD was divided into 1) mealtime behavior, 2) sensory processing, 3) food consumption, and 4) others. Conclusion : As the main feeding disorder characteristics of children with ASD are very diverse, a comprehensive evaluation is necessary but is still limited. Swallowing rehabilitation experts, such as occupational therapists, should apply comprehensive assessment tools based on a basic understanding of the feeding problems, behaviors, and sensations in ASD.

  • 최근 노령화와 스포츠 인구의 증가로 인해 족부 혈액순환 장애 및 족관절의 퇴행성 질환이 증가하고 있으며 이로 인해 몸의 평형기능 및 운동성에 기능장애가 동반하게 된다. 이로 인해 일상생활 기능 저하와 낙상과 같은 이차적 합병증 발생을 초래하여 기능 및 삶의 질 저하, 활동제한 등으로 건강한 노년에 대한 심각한 위협 요인이 될 수 있다. 따라서 족부 혈액순환 증진을 위해 IT기술을 활용하여 압력에 따른 부위별 자극의 세기를 달리하고, 3D영상을 통해 가공의 상황 및 가상의 환경을 사람의 감각을 통해 느끼게 하여 실제 상호작용하고 있는 것처럼 만들어 주어, 혈액순환 개선의 효과를 극대화하고자 노화에 따른 족부건강 변화 및 족부 자극의 효과를 분석하고, 가상현실을 기반으로 한 족부혈액 순환 증진 장치와 관련 컨텐츠에 대해 제시하고자 한다.

  • 컨텍스트폰은 사용자의 주변 상황을 실시간으로 수집하고 시각화하는 휴대전화이며 인간의 여섯 번째 감각 도구로써 신체의 일부가 되고 있다. 이에 따라 사용자에 특화된 상황 인지 기능을 지원하는 모바일 플랫폼 기술이 많이 연구되고 있다. 하지만 모바일 기기간의 상호작용이 아니라 사용자간의 소셜 인터랙션을 지원하는 모바일 플랫폼 연구는 미비하며 감정 등의 고수준 정보는 지원하지 않는다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 감정을 포함한 다양한 정보들을 지원하는 컨텍스트폰 플랫폼을 이용하여 사용자간의 감정을 공유 할 수 있는 컨텍스트폰에 대해 기술한다. 또한 사용자의 감정을 인식하기 위해 컨텍스트폰 플랫폼은 휴대전화 카메라를 이용하여 사용자의 얼굴이미지를 수집하고 감정인식기로 전달한다. 감정인식기는 사용자의 얼굴을 특징추출하여 패턴인식에 적용되는 분류분석 알고리즘을 통해 사용자의 감정을 알아내고 컨텍스트 서버를 매개체로 사용자간 감정을 전달하며 모바일 화면에 시각화한다.

  • 생활 수준 향상과 의학 발달로 평균수명이 증가하면서 노령화가 빠르게 진행되고 있으며, 이로 인해 노인 인구가 급증하고 있는 추세다. 노인 요양병원의 위치가 중요시되고 있지만, 노인 치유환경의 부족과 열악한 상태가 확인되어 연구와 개선이 시급하다. 노인 인구 증가로 노인 의료비가 상승하는 가운데, 노인 요양병원의 의료 서비스 영향을 살펴보고, 법적 규제의 필요성과 노인 의료 시스템의 취약성 극복 방안을 연구하고 있다. 본 연구의 소프트웨어 시스템은 노인 요양원 환자에게 독특하고 혁신적인 경험을 제공하며, 주사, 시술, 수술, 진료뿐만 아니라 긍정적인 마음가짐과 예술적 감각을 통해 치유적인 공간을 조성한다. 이를 통해 환자들은 시각적 자극을 체험하며 긍정적인 영향을 받게 될 것이다.

  • The emergence of the new technologies, which are represented by multimedia and the internet, brings the tremendous change in respect of process, record, delivery, and transmission of the knowledge and information. The new digital contents made by these technologies help to improve the acquisition efficiency of the knowledge and information by directly and simultaneously stimulating humans' different senses. This paper concentrates on how the accumulated computer technologies such as multimedia and the Internet can be used to make the effective digital contents. This paper suggests four development method for the digital contents and gives the implemented example for each development method.

An Influence of Visualization on Geometric Problem Solving in the Elementary Mathematics (시각화가 초등기하문제해결에 미치는 영향)

  • In the elementary mathematics, geometric education emphasize spatial sense and understandings of figures through development of intuitions in space. Especially space visualization is one of the factors which try conclusion with geometric problem solving. But studies about space visualization are limited to middle school geometric education, studies in elementary level haven't been done until now. Namely, discussions about elementary students' space visualization process and methods in plane or space figures is deficient in relation to geometric problem solving. This paper examines these aspects, especially in relation to plane and space problem solving in elementary levels. First, we investigate visualization methods for plane problem solving and space problem solving respectively, and analyse in diagram form how progress understanding of figures and visualization process. Next, we derive constituent factor on visualization process, and make a check errors which represented by difficulties in visualization process. Through these analysis, this paper aims at deriving an influence of visualization on geometric problem solving in the elementary mathematics.

Clinical Observations on 12 Children with Alport Syndrome (Alport 증후군 환아 12명의 임상적 고찰)

  • Purpose: Alport SD., the most common herectitary rephriris, is a renal disease with rapid progression. Deafness, ocular abnormalities and a specific EM finding may be associated in addition to a family history. We have aralyged retrospectively. Methods: We observed 12 children with Alport syndrome who were diagnosed at Dept. of pediatrics in Kyunghee Univ., College of Medicine, from Apr. 1991 until Jun. 1999. We used four criteria for diagnosis: renal disease, family history, deafness or eye abnormalities, and a specific finding in electron microscopy Results: 2 of 12 patients had all features of the four diagnostic criteria. We could not trace an exact family history in 3 patients, and 6 patients did not exhibit deafness or eye abnormality. One could not have renal biopsy because offer chronic renal failure. Other three criteria were observed in her. The ratio of male to female observed was 1:2 respectively and the mean age of initial renal symptom was 5.6 years. 9 of 12 patients had a family history of renal disease. In the audiogram and ocular examination for 11 of 12 cases, sensorineural hearing loss was observed in 6 and ocular abnormality in 2 cases. In electron microscopic finding, irregular thickness of the capillary basement membranes with lamination of lamina densa and foot process obliteration was noted in 9 of 11 and thin basement membrane with splitting and foot process obliteration was noted in the other 2. The mean period of follow-up was 3 6/12 years. And one patient developed the chronic renal failure until now and had kidney transplantation. Conclusion: For the diagnosis of Alport syndrome, the following four diagnostic criteria are very important : renal disease, family history, deafness or eye abnormalities, and a specific finding on electron microscopy. We expect that more patients can be detected through the analysis of these characteristics.

  • 창원대학교 스마트융합 메카트로닉스 인력양성 사업단의 교육 목표는 1) 창조적 교육과정을 통한 지역거점 특성화, 2) 세계적인 수준의 경쟁력을 갖춘 기술 인력 양성, 3) 분석력, 창의력, 적응력 및 설계능력을 갖춘 능동적 기술인력 양성, 4) 시대의 환경변화를 선도하는 진취적 기술인력 양성, 5) 인재공급 및 취업률향상으로 정하였다. 이를 달성하기 위한 교육전략은 1) Major전문성(메카트로닉스심화, 공통실험교육 강화), 2) Global국제적감각(팀기반능력, 근접학문이해능력), 3) Creative지속성장 (Capstone Design, 현장적응교육)으로 정하였다. 따라서 메카트로닉스공통융합심화트랙 교육과정으로 기계, 전기전자제어, 신소재분야의 공통트랙으로 이론 30학점, 실험 6학점(16과목, 36학점)을 신설하여 운영하였다. 수강지도를 통한 교차이수권장 학생들의 자율선택기반을 조성하고, 현장적응교육, 캡스톤 디자인 2과목 7학점을 수강하도록 하였다. 학생의 본인주도 학습권을 인정하여 2학년 진학 시 학생본인직접 100% 자기 전공 선택 기회 제공하는 구조조정을 실하고, 타 전공 관련정보 상호교류, 학문간 통합교육, 조직의 유연성확보가 가능하도록 하였다. 교과목(정규/비정규)개편을 통해 개선된 현장 실무 형 내실화 교육의 실시하여 취업률을 향상시켰다. 따라서 창원대학교 신소재공학부는 기계, 전기전자에 관련된 기본소양을 의무적으로 학습하기 때문에 메카트로닉스 분야에서 필요한 신소재공학도를 육성하는 기반을 마련하였다.
