Comparison of Attitudes of Nursing Students toward Death, Self-esteem and Life Satisfaction according to Clinical Experience (임상실습경험에 따른 간호대학생의 죽음에 대한 태도와 자아존중감 및 삶의 만족도 비교)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to compare nursing students' attitudes toward death, self-esteem and life satisfaction according to clinical experience. Methods: We surveyed 1,030 nursing students from two different universities with a questionnaire consisting of items regarding attitudes toward death, self-esteem and life satisfaction. The data were analyzed using a PASW program. Results: Students with clinical experience scored 2.85 on the attitude toward death, while those without clinical experience scored 2.79 (t=2.775, P=0.006). Students with clinical experience had significantly higher self-esteem (t=4.541, P<0.001) and life satisfaction (t=4.050, P<0.001) than those without it. Students with clinical experience showed correlations between attitude toward death and self-esteem (r=0.159, P<0.001) and life satisfaction (r=0.090, P=0.025), while those without it did not (r=0.106, P=0.014). Conclusion: These results provide guidance for developing educational strategies such as educational program to help students build positive attitude toward death through their experience in clinical practice.

  • 오늘날 많은 병원이 전산화를 통해 병원 경영을 개선하고자 병원정보시스템을 구축하고 있다. 병원정보시스템의 한 부분으로 간호사들의 업무수행을 지원하는 도구인 간호정보시스템은 환자 간호에서 효율성의 증가와 환자의 안전과 만족도가 증가하는 데 한 몫을 한다. 그러나 기존의 의료정보시스템에서는 전산 시스템과 실제 간호업무가 분리되어, 업무가 이중적으로 이뤄지고 있다. 이런 비효율적인 사례의 개선방법으로 PDA로의 업무 전환을 연구 하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 무선 Online 시스템과, 데이터 동기화 기반의 Offline 시스템을 선택적으로 사용이 가능하도록 하여 모든 업무처리를 방문한 간호 현장에서 실시함으로써 시간 및 비용을 절감하고, 신속한 의사전달 체계를 확립함으로써 간호 업무의 효율을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 업무의 중복과 오류의 가능성을 줄일 수 있도록 할 것이다.

Understanding Maternal Role Attainment in Taejon, Korea through the Use of a Structural Model (구조모형을 이용한 모성역할 획득 이해 (대전에 사는 어머니를 대상으로))

  • 모성역할 획득에 영향을 주는 변수를 이해한다는 것은 모성역할 획득에 대한 체계적인 연구와 실질적인 간호중재를 가능하게 한다. 생후 4개월된 첫 아기가 있는 어머니를 대상으로 모성역할 획득모형을 발전시키려고 이 연구를 시도하였다. 가설적 모형은 5개의 변수(모성역할 획득, 모성역할 긴장, 일상생활의 시간적 여유, 아기 기질, 사회적지지)로 구성되었다. 대전시에 거주하는 대상자에게 전화를 통하여 동의를 얻은 후, 우편으로 250명에게 질문지를 보내어 161명(64.4%)으로부터 회수되었다. 자료를 Lisrel 프로그램을 이용하여 공변량구조분석을 한 결과, 자료와 가설적 모형과의 전반적 지수는 자유도 21에 카이자승치 31.47, GFI와 AGFI의 값은 .970, .935였고, RMSR, NFI, NNFI는 각각 1.668, .9097, .9425이었다. 간명하고 부합도가 더 좋은 모형을 찾기 위하여 통계적 결과와 이론적 적합성에 따라 2경로(아기기질에서 모성역할 획득, 모성역할 긴장에서 모성역할 획득)를 고정시켰다. 수정모형의 PFI (간명도)가 .7297로 증가하여 수정모형이 더 간명하면서도 부합도가 좋은 모형으로 나타났다. 공변량구조분석 결과 나타난 변인간의 관계는 일상생활의 시간적 여유가 많을수록, 사회적 지지를 많이 받을수록, 아기기질이 순하다고 생각할수록 모성역할 긴장은 적었고, 일상생활의 시간적 여유가 많을수록, 사회적 지지를 많이 받을수록 모성역할 획득은 잘 되었다.

The Experience of Frist Nursing Meaning among Fundamental Nursing Skills (핵심기본간호술을 통한 첫 간호의미 경험)

  • The purpose of this study to understand the meaning of nursing through core basic nursing for nursing students before clinical practice. Participants of this study were analyzed through interviews after taking the core basic nursing skills class for 3rd graders who are currently enrolled in the Department of Nursing at M University. Seventeen students were enrolled in a K-city university as a third-year student who first performed core basic nursing skills. As a result of the study, it was derived into 3 categories and 19 thematic collections. The three categories included 1. meaning of help, 2. overcoming fear, and 3. opportunity to acquire nursing skills. The conclusion was that the first core basic nursing skills before clinical practice was a time to learn the true meaning of nursing through mutual help The difficulties were overcome with repeated practice, and the acquisition of newly learned nursing skills appeared as an effective process to experience with confidence. Therefore, it can be used as a useful basic data for counseling and guidance on the adaptation of nursing students to clinical practice, and it is expected that it will be used as a useful data for successful practice application counseling.

  • 본 연구는 지역사회간호학회가 실시하는 전국의 보건진료원의 인력조사 연구의 일환으로 경상남도 지역의 전체 보건진료원 259명의 일반적 상황 및 업무수행정도를 파악하기 위하여 1986년 8월 25일부터 11월 25일 사이에 설문조사한 결과 자료수집이 가능한 195명의 설문지를 분석하였다. 대상자 195명의 진료원이 회신한 자료의 분석은 총점, 평균치, 표준편차, 백분율 및 범위로 분석하였으며 업무수행소요시간과의 관련은 Pearson상관계수로 분석한 연구 결과는 다음과 같다.

Effect of the Simulation-Based Adult Nursing Education on Resilience, Clinical Competence, and Role Transition of Nursing Students (시뮬레이션 기반 성인간호 실습교육이 간호대학생의 회복탄력성, 임상수행능력과 간호사역할 이행에 미치는 효과)

  • This study intends to identify the effect of the simulation-based adult nursing education on resilience, clinical competence, and role transition of nursing students. Similar experimental study of a single group pretest-posttest design was used to investigate the effects of the program. The study was conducted from March to June, 2017 on senior nursing students at the university in M city who take an 'Integrated nursing practice I' class for the semester. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires and data of 52 participants were analyzed. The data were analyzed by frequencies, paired t-test and pearson's correlation coefficient using SPSS 21.0 program. As a result, the effectiveness of the simulation-based adult nursing education on resilience, clinical competence, and role transition were found. The result of this study showed that the improvement after simulation education was significant in resilience(t=-2.51, p=.016), clinical competence(t=-4.18, p<.001), and role transition(t=-2.89, p=.006). Resilience was found to be positively correlated with clinical competence(r=.464, p<.001) and role transition(r=.473, p<.001). These findings imply the value of simulation education to enhance the resilience, clinical competence, and role transition of nursing students. In the future, more studies should be conducted in the same group with control group to validate the effectiveness of variables.

Statistical Methods to Control Response Bias in Nursing Activity Surveys (간호활동시간 조사 시 응답편이 통제를 위한 통계적 접근 방안)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare statistical methods to control response bias in nursing activity surveys. Methods: Data were collected at a medical unit of a general hospital. The number of nursing activities and consumed activity time were measured using self-report questionnaires. Descriptive statistics were used to identify general characteristics of the units. Average, Z-standardization, gamma regression, finite mixture model, and stochastic frontier model were adopted to estimate true activity time controlling for response bias. Results: The nursing activity time data were highly skewed and had non-normal distributions. Among the 4 different methods, only gamma regression and stochastic frontier model controlled response bias effectively and the estimated total nursing activity time did not exceeded total work time. However, in gamma regression, estimated total nursing activity time was too small to use in real clinical settings. Thus stochastic frontier model was the most appropriate method to control response bias when compared with the other methods. Conclusion: According to these results, we recommend the use of a stochastic frontier model to estimate true nursing activity time when using self-report surveys.

Measurement and Analysis of the Standard Nursing Practice Times of the ICU Nursing Activities (중환자실 간호행위에 대한 간호소요시간 측정 및 분석)

  • Purpose: This study was done to suggest the standard ICU nursing procedure and standard ICU nursing practice time carried out according to the standard ICU nursing procedure. Methods: Through the literature review, 35 standard ICU nursing activities were selected and classified under 6 categories. Standard nursing procedures were described by research team and 4 clinical practice experts. Content validity of descripted nursing procedure was performed by 6 clinical practice experts. After that standard ICU nursing procedures were identified, standard nursing practice times were checked through 1:1 observation. Results: 35 ICU nursing activities were identified and categorized into 6 domains of activities. Also, their standard nursing procedures were identified, and finally 33 standard nursing practice times were measured and analyzed. The result of the measurement, 1 ICU nursing activity was spent above 30 minutes, 3 activities done within 10-20 minutes, 4 activities done within 5-10 minutes, and 25 activities were spent below 5 minutes. Conclusion: Through this study, 35 standard ICU nursing procedures were described and 33 standard ICU nursing practice times which carried out according to standard ICU nursing procedures were checked. The result can be as fundamental data for the study of nursing activity time in the ICU.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify a survey on total care services, to verify the perception, performance and importance of nursing practices between nursing students and nurses. The sample of the study were 93 nursing students and 38 nurses, A structured questionnaire used in this study composed of 235 items. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 20.0 to calculate frequencies, percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test. The Major findings of this study were as follows: The amount and responsibility of nursing practices in total service showed that 'very much increase'was the most. There were statistically significant differences in performance of total care service by nutritional care and elimination care. There were statistically significant differences in importance of total care service by respiratory Care.
