This study was conducted to explore the latest trends in domestic research related to career development for nurses and present a theoretical approach and practical direction of career related papers in the field of nursing and health care. The subject of the study was articles regarding career development of nurses published in domestic journals from 2008 to 2017. The final 29 papers were found after searching the RISS and KISS databases for 'nursing', 'nurse', 'career', 'career development', 'career development program', and 'career management.' To analyze the overall trends, the analysis was reviewed by year, source, research design, and subjects, and content analysis was used to identify trends by topic. The results of content analysis were divided into career development and career development results as the upper categories. The subcategories of career development were divided into organizational career management, personal career management, and career performance. The subcategories of personal career management consisted of career exploration, career planning, career plateau, and career interruption. Organizational career management consisted of CLS development and application, CLS awareness survey, and career development model building. Career performance consisted of career commitment, organizational commitment, turnover intention, change after CLS application, career satisfaction, and career withdrawal intention. The most frequently discussed topics were career commitment among career performance. Therefore, the direction of nursing research related to career development requires integrated research that meets personal and organizational needs, and diversity in subject, research design and research theme is required.
Purpose: This study aimed to comprehensively analyze the recent revision of the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS)-D to version E in the United States to identify the most recent trends in home health care and provide suggestions for implementing home health care in Korea. Methods: This study is a comprehensive literature review. We compared all items in OASIS-D and OASIS-E and identified the most significant changes. Additionally, we have discussed the context in depth. Results: The addition of items related to health literacy and medication reconciliation, strengthening assessment in the cognitive and mood domains, and improving items related to pain assessment were identified. These major revisions resulted from a greater emphasis in the healthcare field on social determinants of health. Additionally, the COVID-19 outbreak highlighted the importance of monitoring and managing the symptoms of home care patients in the community. Conclusion: The key items of the OASIS amendment and their background analysis proposed in this study could serve as a cornerstone for the revision of home health care assessment tools or the development of systematic common assessment tools in Korea.
Purpose: We aimed to analyze the existing nursing studies related to Yangsaeng for providing a foundation for future studies and developing nursing interventions. Methods: Frequency analysis according to year, journal, study design, variable, and measure of the studies published in domestic nursing journals from 1990 to 2014 was performed. Results: First study of Yangsaeng was published in 1997. The numbers of studies related to Yangsaeng was continuously increasing until 2010 and reducing afterwards. Most nursing studies related to Yangsaeng were published at the Jounral of East-West Nursing Research targeting older adults. The most commonly used measure to assess the concept of Yangsaeng was the scale developed by Ae-Jung Kim in 2004. Most studies were quantitative and correlational studies and none of them was experimental research. Conclusion: It would be useful to incorporate the concept of Yangsaeng into nursing research because from a perspective of holistic nursing, the concept of Yangsaeng is similar with the view of health promotion. This may enable to expand the scope of nursing study from a diverse perspective.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the possible direction of critical care nursing research in the future by analyzing the trends of recent Korean studies. Method : Using a database search, we selected 263 articles on critical care nursing that were published in Korean journals between 2008 and 2017. Then, we conducted an integrative review of the contents of the selected articles and analyzed the English abstracts using the relevant packages and functions of the R program. Results : The number of studies concerning critical care nursing has increased over the 10-year period, and the specific topic of each study has diversified according to the time at which it was conducted. In terms of quality, the majority of the research was published in high-level academic journals. The key words regularly studied over the past decade were: knowledge, delirium, education, restraint, stress, and infection. Studies related to vancomycin-resistant enterococci infection, compliance, and standards have decreased, while studies related to death, communication, and safety have increased. Conclusion : Randomized controlled trials and protocol research for evidence-based critical care need to be conducted, as does research on family involvement. The key word analysis of unstructured text used in this study is a relatively new method; it is suggested that this method be applied to various critical care nursing research and develop it methodologically.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze trends in complementary and alternative therapy in nursing research in Korea. Method: The researchers examined academic theses and dissertations published from 1990 to 2002, and 151 articles were used for the analysis. Result: Nursing research on CAT increased rapidly from 1995 Articles with quantitative research designs made up 93.9% of the total and there were more experimental studies than non-experimental studies. Patients who had surgery, mental disorders, renal failure, hypertension, arthritis, dementia & cancer were the most frequently participants in studies on CAT. The type of CAT used in nursing research were mind-body therapy (65.8%), manual healing therapy (28.7%), phamacologic & biological therapy (3.7%), bioelectromagnetics (0.9%) and herbal therapy (0.9%). In 44 articles both psychological and physiological parameters were used as dependent variables. In 34 articles only physiological parameters were used and in 13 only psychological parameters. The most frequently used physiological parameters in CAT were pain, physiological function and vital signs, while the most used psychological parameters were anxiety, depression and stress. Conclusion: More studies about CAT are needed to extend the role and fields for professional nursing. There is a need to conduct qualitative studies in nursing about the experiences of patients who receive CAT and nurses who use CAT.
This study attempted to analyze the trend of studies related to IHD(Ischemic Heart Disease). This article reviewed 102 researches on IHD conducted from 1980 to 2003, by examining them according to their characteristics, such as sources by publication period, research design, nursing intervention, outcome of experimental research, and theme of qualitative research. The results were as follows : 1. The number of studies related to IHD has steadily increased year by year since 1985, and that of the articles was the highest during the post-2000 period. Especially, the majority of researches has published since 1995. 2. The 69 studies were degree of all 102 studies related to IHD, and the majority of articles' authors belonged to graduate school. Thirty three studies were non-degree articles. As for study design, the number of quantitative studies were 99 and that of qualitative studies were 3. Non-experimental research design were largely survey and correlational study. 3. Non-experimental study makes up a high proportion of the quantitative study. The most of experimental studies were accomplished after 2000. The main subjects were patients, chart records and general subjects. The majority number of subjects was like this : while the number of non-experimental study was between 51 and 100, that of experimental study was below 50. The number of subject of qualitative study is like this : the number of phenomenology study was 21 and 11, and that of case study is 14. 4. Nursing interventions used in the experimental study comprised teaching program, cardiac rehabilitation program, massage, relaxation, music therapy and providing of sense information. And the most nursing intervention effects included physiological effect, increased self-efficacy, relieved pain and increased quality of life. Most studies proved to have the affirmative effects. 5. The number of qualitative studies related to IHD is like this : the number of degree articles was 2 and that of non-degree articles was 1. Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify core keywords and topic groups in the "adolescent pregnancy" field of research for a better understanding of research trends in the past 10 years. Methods: Topics related to adolescent pregnancy were extracted from 3,819 articles that were published in journals between January 2013 and July 2023. Abstracts were retrieved from five databases (MEDLINE, CINAHL, Embase, RISS, and KISS). Keywords were extracted from the abstracts and cleaned using semantic morphemes. Text network analysis and topic modeling were performed using NetMiner 4.3.3. Results: The most important keywords were "health," "woman," "risk," "group," "girl," "school," "service," "family," "program," and "contraception." Five topic groups were identified through topic modeling. Through the topic modeling analysis, five themes were derived: "health service," "community program for school girls," "risks for adult women," "relationship risks," and "sexual contraceptive knowledge." Conclusion: This study utilized text network analysis and topic modeling to analyze keywords from abstracts of research conducted over the past decade on adolescent pregnancy. Given that adolescent pregnancy leads to physical, mental, social, and economic issues, it is imperative to provide integrated intervention programs, including prenatal/postnatal care, psychological services, proper contraception methods, and sex education, through school and community partnerships, as well as related research studies. Nurses can play a vital role by actively engaging in prevention efforts and directly supporting and educating socially disadvantaged adolescent mothers, which could significantly contribute to improving their quality of life.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the trends in research studies published in Journal of Korean Academy of Fundamentals of Nursing from 2009 to 2011. Methods: A total of 156 studies published between 2009 and 2011 were reviewed using analysis criteria developed by the researchers. Results: Quantitative studies accounted for 90.4% and qualitative studies, 8.3%. The research designs for the quantitative studies were experimental, 28.0% and survey, 63.8%. IRB approval was received for only 25.6% of the studies and 61.0% of studies presented participant criteria. Questionnaires were used for data collection in 90.8% of studies. Individual or group education was the most frequent intervention in the experimental studies. Conclusion: The results indicate that more randomized controlled trials with a low risk of bias are needed to support greater evidence-based nursing practice. Considering the low rate of ethical consideration, it is important that stricter application of research methods needs to be encouraged to improve the quality of Journal of Korean Academy of Fundamentals of Nursing.
