  • This study analyzed the policies related to parents in child care centers from 1991 to 2013 as shown in the guidance for child care business book published by the government and accredited journals by the National Research Foundation. Policies related to parents in child care centers were divided into the following periods: 1) the period of passive parent education focused on low-income families (1991-1994), 2) the period of relief for dual-income families (1995-1997), 3) the period of relief for adoption families and the practice of child care support services (2004-2007), 4) the period of active parent involvement (2008-2013). On the other hand, the research trends of parent education in child-care centers were as follows: 1) the survey of parent education was the most common at first, 2) the studies of the role and disposition of parents occupied the bulk, 3) the studies of parents' needs and satisfaction on parent involvement appeared plenty, 4) the studies of the personalized parent education increased. Consequently, the need for home care services and the importance of parents' education were suggested.

The Effects of Child Daycare Center Teacher's Communications Skills on Group Cohesiveness, Empathy, and Communications Satisfaction : Centered on Difference between Daycare Centers (어린이집 교사의 소통능력이 집단응집력, 공감능력과 소통만족에 미치는 영향 : 어린이집 운영주체 별 차이를 중심으로)

  • This study focuses on the effects of child daycare center teacher's communication skills on group cohesiveness, empathy, and communication satisfaction. For research purposes, 197 child daycare center teachers were selected for survey on communication skills, group cohesiveness, empathy, and communication satisfaction. Daycare centers were categorized into three groups, including national, private, and home centers. Research results displayed that the communication skills of daycare center teachers had effects on group cohesiveness for all three groups of national, private, and home centers. The communication skills of daycare center teachers provided positive effects on group cohesiveness, contributing to accomplishment of organizational goals. In addition, the communication skills of daycare center teachers had effects on empathy for all three groups of national, private, and home centers. The higher level of communication skills of daycare center teachers will ultimately lead to enhanced skills in understanding and sympathizing with children, parents, and other teachers. Third, the communication skills of daycare center teachers had effects on communication satisfaction for all three groups of national, private, and home centers. The higher level of communication skills of daycare center teachers displayed enhanced level of communication satisfaction between children, parents, and other teachers.

A Comparison Study on the Perceptions of Parents and Directors of Child-Care Centers regarding Parent Education (어린이집 원장의 기관유형에 따른 부모교육에 대한 인식)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in the perception of directors of child-care center about parental education according to types of child-care centers. The subjects were 147 directors of child-care centers who reside in Chungbuk, Sejong, and Jeonbuk. Data were collected through questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 18, and frequency analysis, chi-square method and ANOVA method and Tukey test was also used for the posttest. The results of this study are as follows. There was no difference in the recognition of the director about the necessity of the parental education depending on the type of child-care center. There was a difference in the recognition of the directors in relation to subjects of parental education, the execution method, and evaluation area of parent education.

A Comparative Study on the Turnover Intention of Childcare Teacher (보육교사의 이직의도에 관한 연구: '어린이집 유형별' 비교를 중심으로)

  • 본 연구에서는 대전, 세종 지역 등에서 근무하는 어린이집 보육교사 298명을 대상으로 그들의 이직의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하였다. 이 과정에서 어린이집은 가정, 민간, 공공형 어린이집으로 나누어 분석하였다. 분석결과, 조사대상자의 건강상태, 조직건강에서의 원장 리더십 영역, 사회적 지지가 이직의도에 공통적으로 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났지만, 각 유형별로 이직의도에 영향을 미치는 요인이 크게 다른 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 공공형 어린이집의 보육교사들은 이직의도가 가장 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 다만, 공공형 어린이집 보육교사의 경우에는 직무스트레스에서의 행정적 업무 영역이 이직의도에 가장 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 반영하여 보육정책을 수립하고 유보통합을 진행할 필요가 있음을 제언하였다.
