보건소 방문간호사의 직무만족 관련요인 (Job Satisfaction related Factors of Home Visiting Nurses in the Public Health Centers)

  • Purpose: This study was aimed to investigate predictors of job satisfaction of home visiting nurses at the 16 public health centers in Busan. Method: There are two groups of independent factors: non-work related (age. educational level. working duration as nurses in hospitals. certificate). and work related (working duration as nurses in public health centers. working duration as home visiting nurse. position. number of households visited per week, workload, cooperation among staff, support by supervisors, supply of vehicles, supply of materials). The participants were 88 home visiting nurses from 16 public health centers in Busan. Data were collected with self-administrated questionnaires and analysed using an univariate logistic regression and multiple logistic regression analysis. Result: support by supervisors (good vs not-good, OR=3.70. p=0.025), and supply of materials (good vs not-good, OR=3.33, p=0.038) had significants effects on job satisfaction. Conclusion: The results were similar to those of other studies on the predictors of job satisfaction of clinical nurse at hospitals, and were helpful in developing nursing interventions to increase job satisfaction among home visiting nurses in public health centers.   • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to establish baseline data for the development of employment policies to improve the efficiency and stability of visiting healthcare services. It identifies factors affecting visiting nurses' intention-to-retention at healthcare centers in Seoul. Methods: This descriptive study investigated subjective health perception, job stress, professionalism, job satisfaction, and intention-to-retention of 269 nurses with more than one year of work experience as a visiting nurse. These factors were analyzed using t-tests, chi-square, partial correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The results indicate that satisfaction for professional status in job satisfaction, educational level, autonomy in professionalism, and visiting nursing career were significant factors that impacted the retention of visiting nurses. Conclusion: It is necessary to frame policies and provide support to enhance the satisfaction and autonomy for visiting nurse as a profession for the efficiency and stability of visiting healthcare services.

임상간호사의 시간관리 요인이 조직몰입 및 직무만족에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Time Management on the Clinical Nurse's Organizational Commitment and Job Satisfaction)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of time management on the clinical nurse's organizational commitment and job satisfaction. Methods: Subjects were recruited in two general hospitals in Seoul and Incheon. Data collection was done using a self-report questionnaire. Time management was measured using the questionnaire developed by Han (1992). Organizational commitment and job satisfaction were measured using the questionnaire developed by Yoon (2000), based on Mowday et al. (1979) and Stamps et al. (1978). The data were analyzed using the SAS statistical package program, version 10.0. Specifically, descriptive statistics and stepwise multiple regression were performed. Results: The predictive time management factors for organizational commitment included deadline decision, simplification, and goal-setting. The predictive time management factors for job satisfaction included planning/making the priority order, deadline decision, simplification, asking for help, and responsibility reduction. Conclusion: Time management factors are highly correlated with organizational commitment and job satisfaction in clinical nurses. Deadline decision and simplification are common predictive factors for organizational commitment and job satisfaction. These results can be used to develop more effective time management strategies for increasing organizational effectiveness in clinical nurses.

다문화가정의 고부만족도, 문화적응스트레스 및 스트레스 대처전략이 노인 우울에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Satisfaction Level in the Relationship between Mother-in-law and Daughter-in-law, Acculturative Stress and Stress Coping Strategies on Elderly Depression in Multi-cultural Families)

  • Purpose: This descriptive study aims to analyze the effects of the satisfaction level in the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, conflicts between them, acculturative stress and stress coping strategies on elderly depression in multi-cultural families. Methods: The survey was conducted on 89 mothers-in-law, aged 65 or older, in multi-cultural families with a foreign daughter-in-law. Data were collected through structured questionnaires, and then were used to conduct t-test, ANOVA, correlation and multiple regression analyses using the statistical program SPSS 21.0. Results: This study found several factors contributing to depression of mothers-in-law in multi-cultural families. Those factors include living alone without a spouse, poor health, a high level of perceived discrimination and a passive reaction in terms of stress coping strategies. Conclusion: A sense of discrimination perceived by the mothers-in-law having a foreign daughter-in-law implies that the people around them and the community should make efforts to reject distorted perspectives and remove prejudice against foreign daughters-in-law. In addition, the mothers-in-law should receive education and training to use more active and positive stress coping strategies in a stressful situation with the foreign daughter-in-law.

간호사복의 치수적합성과 디자인 만족도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Satisfaction in Relation to Size Fit and Clothing Design of Nurse Uniform)

  • This study was aimed at investigating the satisfaction in relation to clothing design and size-fit for nurse uniform in Korea. The subjects were 986 female nurses working in 12 hospitals selected by convenience sampling. The data were collected by questionnaires. Using SPSS package, frequency, percentage, t-test, ANOVA and SNK test were conducted. The results were divided into 2 categories as fellows; 1) Results of the satisfaction with the size-fit and size system of the nurse uniforms : Nurses satisfied at the individual size-fit system than ready-made size system. There was a considerable difference of the satisfaction with the size-fit depending on age and clinical career. And more than half of nurses were needed the concrete and precise size system. 2) Results of the actual design condition and clothing satisfaction : Nurses wore two-piece pants suits more than classical designed one-piece style. The princess-line, convertible collar and yoke design were preferred for nurse uniform with the high satisfaction. 41.6 percent of respondents used the cap obligatory and the white color and a patterned textile were generally used. The used fabrics were only polyester and cotton/polyester mixed spinning.

맞춤형 방문건강관리사업 활성화를 위한 직무교육 만족도 (A Study of Job Educational Satisfaction for Activating of Tailor Made Visiting Home Health Care)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to establish basic data for developing education program of tailor made visiting home health care. Method: For this study, the subject was recruited in one directorial area among 14 nation-wide areas. The data collection was done using self-report questionnaire developed by Korea Health Industry Development Institute. Ninety one questionnaires were analyzed and response rare was 88.3%. Result: The major results were as follows. Aspect of education operations, the satisfaction of education space was revealed high. However, the satisfaction of education time, hour, and schedule were low. The overall satisfaction of education contents were revealed high. The most useful curriculums were found Chronic disease management, Infant & toddler health management, and Case management of tailor made visiting home health care. However the most unuseful curriculums were Nutritional management according to subject's health problem, Health promotion for poor family, and Understanding of visiting service in community health center. Conclusion: With these results, it was identified that the most needed contents of tailor made visiting home health care education program. So these results will be used to develop the more effective education program to activate tailor made visiting home health care service in community health center.

보건진료전담공무원의 업무분석과 직무만족도 (Working Patterns and Job Satisfaction in Primary Health Practitioners)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the frequency and duration of primary health practitioners' work, and their job satisfaction, and to confirm differences in work and job satisfaction by type of primary health care post. Methods: Work frequency, duration of work, and job satisfaction were estimated by 371 primary health practitioners. Chi-square test and t-test were used to identify the differences in working patterns and job satisfaction by type of primary health care post. Results: Primary health practitioners were found to spend more time working with the elderly population than with students, pregnant women, children, people with disabilities, and multicultural families. Those in costal areas were more concerned with students than those working inland. In the latter group of practitioners, more time was spent working with patients with chronic diseases, pregnant women, women, children, multicultural families, and mental health clients. Also, the job satisfaction of inland primary health practitioners was significantly higher than that of costal practitioners. Conclusion: It is necessary to identify the characteristics of primary health practitioners' work, focusing on changes in the medical service environment. Furthermore, it is necessary to provide job training according to type of primary health care post, as practitioners' approaches should differ between posts.

한국 가정전문간호사의 업무량과 직무만족도 (Workload and Job Satisfaction of Home Health care Nurses in Korea)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the workload of home healthcare nurses and their job satisfaction. Methods: The research was conducted on 87 home healthcare nurses in nationwide medical institutions. Results: Number of visits was correlated with direct nursing hours. The monthly average number of visits was 108.84 ; the average number of patients was 45.66; the average daily working hours were $8.95{\pm}0.95$, of which $5.43{\pm}1.06 $ were indirect nursing hours, and $3.57{\pm}1.05$ were direct nursing hours. The average nursing time by severity condition was 22.25 minutes for group 1 patients, 28.04 minutes for group 2, 34.97 minutes for group 3, and 42.88 minutes for group 4. Of possible scores out of 5 for the job satisfaction of home healthcare nurses, their satisfaction was low for their welfare ($2.68{\pm}1.12$), workload ($2.90{\pm}0.88$), and enough time to work ($2.98{\pm}0.90$). Conclusion: The severity of patient's conditions influenced the workload of home healthcare nurses. Although workload did not correlate significantly with job satisfaction, it is necessary to devise a measure for manpower so that home healthcare nurses can secure sufficient nursing hours when they visit clients.

병원중심 가정전문간호사의 역할인식, 역할갈등 및 직무만족 (A Study of Role Awareness, Role Conflict and Job Satisfaction for Hospital-based Home Care Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study is a descriptive research conducted for looking into the role awareness level. role conflicts, and job satisfaction among professional home care nurses in the field of hospital based home care nursing service. Method: 154 specialized home care nurses in 63 hospitals and clinics that are implementing home care programs were subject to the study. Result: 1. The level of role awareness among professional home care nurses was $4.47\pm0.41$ on average out of 5. 2. The average score for role conflicts was $3.87\pm0.61$ out of 5. 3. In terms of job satisfaction level. $3.33\pm0.71$ was scored out of 5. 4. It has been discovered that there are statistically significant positive correlations among role awareness level, role conflicts(r= .224, P= .005), and job satisfaction level(r= .166, P=.040), while a negative correlation was detected between role conflicts and job satisfaction level(r=-.210, P= .009). Conclusion: The level of role awareness among professional home care nurses in the field of hospital based home care nursing service was very high and job satisfaction level was high when the level of home care nursing antecedents was high and the organization structure of working place was independent. But the level of role conflicts coming out of the weakness of job-supporting system was high. So the realistic alternative such as the improvement of working environment by administrative, institutional support, is required to make up for this problem in the future.

  • Purpose: This study was to examine patient satisfaction related to an increase in nursing personnel staffing. Methods: The subjects of this study were 317 hospitalized patients in the general wards of a medical center in Kyungki Do. Data were collected at 2 and 8 months following an increase in nursing personnel in the hospital. Patient Satisfaction Scale developed by Lee(1986) and revised by Seo(2000) was used. The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, t-test, ${\chi}2$ test, and one way ANOVA. Results: Although the patient satisfaction scores at 8 months were higher than the scores at 2 months, there were no significant differences in patient satisfaction between the two periods Among the patient satisfaction subscales, the scores of the education subscale at 8 months were marginally higher than at 2 months (t=-1.97, p=.050). Conclusions: Adequate nursing staffing is important in patient satisfaction and patient outcome. The results provide data that suggests a positive direction for nursing intervention and development of nursing professionals.
