The purpose of this study was to analyze the preference of traditional lacquered furniture and to suggest furniture design guideline. Subjects consisted of 336 residents aged up 20 years old in Seoul and Kyung-ki. area. The data were analyzed using the SPSS statistical package. The results of descriptive statistics, factor analysis, t-test and ANOVA are presented. The result of this study showed that the traditional and environmental values of the traditional lacquered furniture were highly appraised. With a furniture plan, modernized and stylelike design was desired and the table type furniture were wanted. And preference of traditional lacquered furniture was distinct by sex and age groups. Women and older age group wanted more decorative and luxury design than other groups. These results provide a practical guideline for the development of the traditional lacquered furniture design for users.

The design trend is changed with the times. The design trend of recent 21 century is eco-friendly design. The optical illusion design is a new trend of digital convergence era. In this study, optical illusion patterns were designed for furniture with eco-friendly UV-curable resin. The micro-patterns of optical illusion design were fabricated with the micro-mold which was mastered using a semiconductor micro-fabrication process by photolithography technique. The micro-patterns of optical illusion design were manufactured on PET film with a roll-to-roll process using a UV-curable resin. The manufactured PET film of optical illusion micro-pattern exhibits hologram effect, optical illusion effect, and texture of metal with the backside digital printing of metal tone. The furniture of new design concept so-called emotional furniture was manufactured with the various optical illusion design patterns. The optical illusion design patterns by UV mold prospect a new trend of interior design materials.

For the purpose of sped fying the character of Italian furniture industry, it's very important to analyse environmental aspects, in other word s, infrastructure of the furniture industry. These conditions that regional si tuation and circumstances, small and medium size of company depending upon the fami Iy oriented craftsman ship, roles of producers who are very keen on technical innovation and improvement, distribu tion structure and production status etc, are important factors to understand environmental characters of the furniture industry. Moreover, existence of various design languges according to design activities by architects un der that industrial structure is also regarded as the characters of that furniture industry. Through understanding the characters of Italian furniture industry and the drivig force of the growth, I would I ike to propose a role model for our domestic furniture industry.

Design took a radical turn in the 1980's, deconstructing the rigid ideology of the Modernism, often with great humor. Contemporary representable Avant-garde designers, Philippe Starck and Ron Arad brazenly borrowed from the 'historical elements' of previous styles and created bio-morphic forms with whimsical names of furniture. This study is proposed to understand the diversity of contemporary design, by comparing these two furniture designers. It also covers the common factors in contemporary furniture design, and analyzes their individual differences and similarities in design. It helps to plan the foundation of design methods for 21C, and predict and respond to the future as a reference point. Philippe Starck links Romantic Rationalism within Minimal style and Ron Arad links Deconstructivism within High-tech style but both of them pursue of Organic concept design in their furniture through the concept of humanism. They are able to establish a base of contemporary furniture design by adapting new conceptual form, and design process for the general public.

With the development of the society, people's thought and the way of life is changing. The change of the traditional values and marriage lead to the increase of the "singles" groups in modern society. The "singles" group's behaviors, living environment, and consumption have become a social focus. With the emergence of the "singles", traditional furniture already can't meet the demand, so personalized furniture should be developed for the "singles". This study based on background and consumption psychology of the "singles", analyzed the consumption characteristics and preferences of the "singles". It studied the furniture demand of the "singles", and analyzed the existing unmarried person's residential form, types and characteristics of the furniture, and also analyzed the existing furniture using by the "singles" with SWOT, made a more systematic study for finding the advantages and disadvantages of existing the "singles" group's furniture. Then, combined with the unmarried person's furniture needs, living forms, the advantages and disadvantages of the "singles" furniture, etc., made the multi-functional furniture design concept for the "singles". This concept as a design direction, which would make out more suitable furniture be in keeping with the "singles" group's characteristics and requirements. Finally through the concept of multi-functional and folding raise the utilization ratio of narrow space of the living environment.

현대사회의 1인 가구는 전 연령대에서 지속적으로 증가하고 있으며 앞으로도 꾸준히 늘어날 전망이다. 4차 산업혁명의 도래와 빠르게 확산되고 있는 스마트홈서비스를 1인 가구가 효과적으로 제공받기 적합한 공간디자인이 필요하다. 본 연구는 1인 가구의 현황 조사와 1인 가구 라이프스타일 분석과 원룸형 주택의 구조 및 유형 분석, 국내 스마트홈서비스 선호도 조사로 진행되었다. 이를 통해 1인 가구의 라이프스타일을 반영하여 스마트홈서비스가 적용될 수 있는 공간디자인 방향을 계획하였다.

I would like to design a customized furniture for one-person households that have emerged as mainstream in modern society. In particular, I focused on the tendency of generations to improve the quality of life, and wanted to design the aesthetic furniture close to art furniture. To this end, I look at art furniture in domestic and overseas furniture. and present the concept of combined custom design based on current trends. The combined custom design differs from the existing one by creating separate designs for each part and fusing them to enable more diverse and aggressive molding. This is in harmony with the active tendency of one-person households who shows a lot of interest in the quality of life. Especially, it is suitable for small quantity production of various kinds, so it can be produced in the existing craft workshop system, and the two tables can confirm the possibility of the morphological concept according to actual combined custom design.

Furniture is an essential element in the area of human residence, and the necessity of system furniture suitable for the pursuit of unity in design, which clearly distinguishes the various and flexible arrangements and characteristics of space, is gradually expanding. The elderly population in Korea currently exceeds 15%, and is expected to be close to 40% by 2050. An increasing number of elderly generations are showing different behavioral patterns, such as sharing information, health care, and seeking independence from children. In order to maintain an independent daily life, a stable living environment has become essential, but as a result of a study that safety accidents caused by households increase due to a decrease in cognitive ability and physical ability, the need for a suitable household has increased. Therefore, the biological changes and characteristics of the elderly were investigated, and the concept definition, scope and limitations of system households were studied. In addition, by grasping the changes in the home appliance market and trends in the home appliance market, the design direction of system furniture required by the elderly was presented.

The study aimed to classify the types of domestic dormitory furniture, and analyze the characteristics of each furniture type based on the empirical research methodology. The study consisted of literature review and field visit followed by survey and in-depth interview. The researchers collected 140 images of furniture from the web sites of 87 universities. Using affinity diagram, the dormitory furniture was classified into four different types: single fixed type, single semi-fixed type, multi fixed type, and multi semi-fixed type. The finding showed that the use of single fixed type was dominant in the domestic dormitory room, which had competitive price and easy maintenance. Both single fixed type and multi fixed type turned out to be lack of storage space. Meanwhile, both single semi-fixed type and multi semi-fixed type got the high value on the space efficiency due to the multi function. However, these two types could only be applied to a wide space enough for the furniture to be transformed and extended. The study analyzed the main characteristics of the dormitory furniture according to the type classification, and it is expected that this empirical study could work as a medium and database for the upcoming dormitory furniture design studies.
