  • ZnO varistors have been widely used to protect power system and electronic system against overvoltages based on their excellent nonlinearity. In order to increase their protection capability, ZnO varistors are chosen by several electrical parameters according to their applications, namely 1mA DC voltage, 1eakage currents, impulse residual voltages, withstanding capability to impulse surge, and energy absorption capability. But these Parameters have scattering properties due to the nonuniformity of electrical characteristics. In this study, the effect of the microstructrual nonuniformity on the surge absorption capability of ZnO varistors.

  • The main objective of this paper is to design and test a new type of polymer ZnO surge arrester for DC power system of railroad vehicles. The rated voltage is 1500v direct current.   • In this paper, we study the adjacency matrix of a minimal connected quadrangular graph G, and then we obtain an upper bound on |E(G)| for such a graph G, and we obtain the graph for which the upper bound is attained. In addition, we obtain an upper bound on |E(G)| for a critical matching covered quadrangular graph G.

  • Conduction heat transfer in heat spreaders with concentrated heat sources is analyzed by finite element method calculation and the results are compared to analytical solutions for simplified cases. The local temperature rise is dependent on the heat flux, thermal conductivity of the spreader material, and the contact size of the heat source. The effect of the adjacency of other heat sources is also examined.

  • 신엔진 개발에서 동력을 증대시키려는 연구와 얻어진 에너지가 엔진을 구동시키기 위한 내부에 너지로 소비되지 않고 가능한 제동마력으로 보내려는 에너지 절약의 측면에서 접근하려는 연구가 있다. 전자의 연구개발은 연료와 공기의 열유동 해석, 혼합비 조절, 점화시기 및 방법, 연료의 선정, 터보차저의 설치, 즉 엔진에 공급되는 고열원부의 열량 $Q_H$ 를 증가 시키든지 또는 대기중으로 방출하는 저열원부의 열량$Q_L$ 을 어떻게 감소시키느냐에 관심을 가지고 있는 연구이다. 그러나 후자의 경우는 이미 생산된 에너지를 가능한 한 소비시키지 않고 모두 제동 마력으로 보내도록 노력하는 연구, 즉 트라이몰로지에 기초를 둔 연구개발 분야이다. 엔진개발 에서 트라이볼로지의 역할은 대단히 중요하나 기술 자체가 대단히 미시적이기 때문에 신기술 개발이 대단히 어려우며, 이 분야의 필요성이 크게 대두된 것도 십수년 전에 불과하므로 기술 축적이 많이 안된 분야 중의 하나이다. 트라이볼로지 기술의 필요성이 현저하게 부각되기는 하 였지만 해결하기가 대단히 어려운 분야이다. 그러나 일단 섬세하고도 미시적인 트라이볼로지 기술의 벽을 극복하면 큰 효과를 발휘하게 된다. 고도의 첨단기술을 개발하고 적용해야 하는 선진기술국에서는 에너지 절약의 측면보다는 새로운 기술개발의 측면에서 트라이볼로지 기술을 적극적으로 지원하고 있다.

  • We carried out the maritime safety audit for Sandal Water Bridge constructed between Geje-Do and Sandal-Do in 2015. To study as to whether can be secured the marine traffic safety for this area, this research investigated and performed the marine accident, marine traffic volume, the marine traffic flow simulation and shiphandling simulation. It is considered to be required the quantitative guidelines for maritime safety audit including audit target area and formal audit object etc.

  • The life of transformer is significantly dependent on the thermal behavior in windings. To analyse winding temperature rise, many transformer designer have calculated temperature distribution and hot spot point by finite element method(FEM). Recently, numerical analyses of transformer are studied for optimum design, that is electric field analysis, magnetic field, potential vibration, thermal distribution and thermal stress. Therefore design time and design cost are decreased by numerical analysis. In this paper, the temperature distribution and thermal stress analysis of 50kVA pole cast resin transformer for power distribution are investigated by FEM program. The temperature change according to load rates of transformer also have been investigated. We have carried out temperature rise test and test results are compared with simulation data.

  • In this study, mesh-type PECVD system was suggested to minimize the hydrogen concentration. The main structural difference between the triode system and a conventional system is that a mesh was attached to the substrate holding electrode. We investigated several conditions to compare with conventional PECVD. The main effect of mesh was to minimize the substrate damage by ion bombardment and to enhance the surface reaction to induce hydrogen desorption. It was also found that hydrogen concentration decreased but deposition rate increased as increasing applied dias. Applied DC bias enhanced sputtering process. Intense ion bombardment causes the weakly bonded hydrogen or hydrogen-containing species to leave the growing film and increased adatom mobility. Furthermore, addition of hydrogen gas enhance the surface diffusion of adatom. The structural properties of poly-Si films were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).

  • To assist developing robust multithreaded software, we develop a thread monitoring system for multithreaded Java programs, which can trace or monitor running threads and synchronization. We design a monitoring system which has options to select interesting threads and synchronizations. Using this tool, programmers can monitor only interesting threads and synchronization in more details by selecting options. It also provides profile information after execution, which summarizes behavior of running threads and synchronizations during execution. We implement the system based on code inlining, and presents some experimental results.
