Subjects consisted of 110 marriage immigrant women in Gyeonggi-do in December, 2014. SPSS/WIN 22.0 program was used for ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis to figure out burden and efficacy of child rearing through the general characteristics. The increased burden of child rearing was statistically significant with young age, lower level of education, low income and less spending time to raise their children by husband. Additionally, the increased efficacy of child rearing was statistically significant with young age and using two languages. The pressure of the child rearing showed a negative correlation with spouse support, income, and old age. The efficacy of child rearing had a positive correlation with spouse support, spending time to take care of their children by family, and ages. In the regression analysis, the burden of child rearing among immigrant women increased by old age (${\beta}=-2.097$, p<.05) and less time to raise their children by husband (${\beta}=-2.165$, p<.05). It is important to provide spouse and family support to encourage desirable child rearing behavior. • This study is the descriptive research intended for identifying the reciprocal relationship between the knowledge of nursing and performance of pressure ulcer prevention that registered nurses at the aged care hospital possess. A total of 317 nurses who had been working at the aged care hospital for 4 months from March 1 2014 to June 1 2014 were chosen as research group. The data were collected by means of self-reported questionnaire and data were analyzed with descriptive statistics. The knowledge of nursing on pressure ulcer depending on general characteristics of research group had the significant difference in each item of clinical experience, education program, education time and education frequency(p<.05), In the performance of pressure ulcer prevention only the education frequency among various general characteristics showed significant differences(p=.40). The knowledge of nursing related to pressure ulcer had the low negative correlation with the performance of nursing(rho=-.137, p<.05). Among the factors disturbing nursing performance of pressure ulcer prevention the shortage of nursing staff appeared to be 57.7%. From the result of this study it was revealed that both increasing the education frequency of preventive nursing and managerial consideration concerning the shortage of nursing staff were needed more rather than the knowledgement of preventive nursing to improve the nursing performance of pressure ulcer prevention.

  • The present descriptive study investigated the influence of violence experienced by nursing staff in long-term care hospitals and their emotional intelligence on the quality of nursing service. The study participants included 167 nursing staff from 9 different long-term care hospitals in G and C Provinces. Data collected from questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 software. While slight differences were found among the subtypes of violence experience, it was found that verbal violence was the most common form in violence, experienced by the nursing staff, followed by physical threat and physical violence. A hierarchical regression analysis performed to investigate the degree of influence of violence experience and emotional intelligence on the quality of nursing service found that violence experience did not significantly affect the quality of nursing service when the general characteristics were controlled whereas emotional intelligence had a significant influence on the quality of nursing service. The results of this study show that, although it is commonly believed that violence experience is a major factor compromising the quality of nursing service, emotional intelligence, which reflects one's ability to utilize and control one's emotions, may actually have a more significant impact on the quality of nursing service. Emotional intelligence can be improved through education and training; therefore, it is necessary to explore ways to improve emotional intelligence of nursing staff such as development of various programs.
