In past decades, a maximum standard vessel size for chemical tankers is not normally larger than 55,000 TDW due to the characteristic of chemical product shipment which is so variable but small quantity unlike single product carries such as crude oil tankers. These days, as demand of very large chemical tanker is rising due to the change of market trend of chemical product shipment, 75,000 TDW class chemical tanker has been developed. The newly developed vessel's structure has been designed based on CSR (Common Structural Rule) for double hull oil tankers (hereafter CSR) published by IACS (International Association of Classification Societies). However, due to the large difference from typical oil tankers, many items should be specially considered such as on deck transverse and corrugated bulkheads. In addition, two longitudinal bulkheads without upper stool have been constructed in order to maximise the number of cargo tanks and the volume of each cargo tanks. In this study, key word of the vessel has been briefly reviewed and the structural reliability of the proposed vessel has been investigated.
Container vessels continue to grow in size, led by global shipowner. Large ships can be loaded more cargo at a time, reducing the cost of transportation per teu. this eventually leads to economies of sale, in which the production cost per unit decreases with increasing output. in accordance with the 70th Convention of the Marine Environment Protection Committee of the International Maritime Organization, as of January 1, 2020, MARPOL Annex VI Regulation 14.1.3 will be effective. All vessels must be meet these criteria to reduce Sox emissions and reduce NOx emissions by reducing the content of manned sulfur oxides from 3.5% to less than 0.5%, otherwise IACS Member States Entry to the port is denied. in order to do that need to LNG storage tank. in this study characteristic of the material after line heating (600℃,700℃,800℃,900℃) of 9% Ni steel used in the manufacture of LNG fuel tank of ship were verified using by mechanical test. In the heating method by line heating. The initial properties of steel are changed by variables such as temperature, time, speed. The experimental data of line heating presented in this paper confirmed that the initial change of 9% Ni steel could be minimized.
The CSR rule was defined by IACS as the unified rule for a commercial ship like a bulk carrier and a tanker. It have been required more strict conditions for various parts like loading conditions, the local and girder strength, fatigue strength, FEM for the ship rule. It was changed in many parts of the ship rules. In this paper, the mid-parts of 17.5K DWT bulk carrier were optimized by the CSR rule. On the other hand, the modified artificial life algorithms with multi-object functions were developed for optimizing the scantling. It is possible to find multi-global optimum solutions in the multi-object functions. And it is faster and efficient than the artificial life algorithm. First, to be optimizing the scantling and the weight by CSR rule, that is calculated by the CSR rule. The next, the result is re-calculated by the modified artificial life algorithm with multi-object functions. The optimized results which are satisfied with the CSR rule like the minimum size and the thickness of stiffener and the minimum cost have been searched by the optimizing algorithm. And the results have been compared with the non-optimizing results.
Microstructure, electric, and thermal properties of the Ta-Cu composite is evaluated for the application in electric contact materials. This material has the potential to be used in a medium for a high current range of current conditions, replacing Ag-MO, W, and WC containing materials. The optimized SPS process conditions are a temperature of $900^{\circ}C$ for a 5 min holding time under a 30 MPa mechanical pressure. Comparative research is carried out for the calculated and actual values of the thermal and electric properties. The range of actual thermal and electric properties of the Ta-Cu composite are 50~300 W/mk and 10~90 %IACS, respectively, according to the compositional change of the 90 to 10 wt% Ta-Cu system. The results related to the electric contact properties, suggest that less than 50 wt% of Ta compositions are possible in applications of electric contact materials.

Dispersion-strengthened copper with $TiB_2$ was produced by ball-milling and spark plasma sintering (SPS).Ball-milling was performed at a rotation speed of 300rpm for 30 and 60min in Ar atmosphere by using a planetary ball mill (AGO-2). Spark-plasma sintering was carried out at $650^{\circ}C$ for 5min under vacuum after mechanical alloying. The hardness of the specimens sintered using powder ball milled for 60min at 300rpm increased from 16.0 to 61.8 HRB than that of specimen using powder mixed with a turbular mixer, while the electrical conductivity varied from 93.40% to 83.34%IACS. In the case of milled powder, hardness increased as milling time increased, while the electrical conductivity decreased. On the other hand, hardness decreased with increasing sintering temperature, but the electrical conductiviey increased slightly

Cu-$TiB_2$ nanocomposite powders were synthesized by combining high-energy ball-milling of Cu-Ti-B mixtures and subsequent self-propagating high temperature synthesis (SHS). Cu-40wt.%$TiB_2$ powders were produced by SHS reaction and ball-milled. The milled SHS powder was mixed with Cu powders by ball milling to produce Cu-2.5wt.%$TiB_2$ composites. $TiB_2$ particles less than 250nm were formed in the copper matrix after SHS-reaction. The releative density, electrical conductivity and hardness of specimens sintered at $650-750^{\circ}C$ were nearly 98%, 83%IACS and 71HRB, respectively. After heat treatment at 850 to $950^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours under Ar atmosphere, hardness was descedned by 15%. Our Cu-$TiB_2$ composite showed good thermal stability at eleveated temperature.
Common Structural Rules (CSR) about bulk carriers and double-hull oil tankers of International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) has been applied to ships contracted for construction since April 2006. By unifying each society's rules, the difference of opinion in the between shipyard and ship owners, classification was reduced, and CSR has been evaluated by rules the safety structure more enhanced. However, The CSR about the bulk carriers and double hull oil tankers, important design content standards, such as the local scantling calculation, static/dynamic load case and corrosion margin and etc., are different. Therefore in order to combine the CSR, the Harmonized CSR for bulk carriers and double hull oil tankers (H-CSR) was issued on 1, January, 2014, and will be apply to ships contracted for construction after 1st July 2015. It is necessary to verify the H-CSR to optimize the structural arrangement because effective date is not far off. In this study, we compared the impact by rule change for the hull girder shear strength of bulk carriers between CSR and H-CSR in respect of the yielding and buckling strength.
In order to investigate the effect of plastic deformation and annealing process parameters on strength and electrical conductivity of Cu-Fe alloys, Cu-10wt%Fe, Cu-15wt%Fe alloys were drawn up to ${\eta}=4$ and annealed in the temperature range of $300^{\circ}C$ to $700^{\circ}C$, followed by measurements of tensile strength and electric conductivity. As draw strain increases, tensile strength increases while electrical conductivity decreases. These observations result from reduction of dislocation density and decrease in Fe fiber spacing. Raising annealing temperature brought about decrease of tensile strength and increase of electrical conductivity up to $500^{\circ}C$, being followed by decreasing above $500^{\circ}C$. Such results are thought to be caused by decrease of dislocation density below $500^{\circ}C$ and rapid solubility increase of Fe in Cu above $500^{\circ}C$. For the purpose of obtaining both high strength and high conductivity, annealing process should be incorporated just prior to reaching to final draw strain. For Cu-10wt%Fe alloy, the tensile strength 706.9 MPa and the electrical conductivity 54.34%IACS were obtained through the processes of drawing up to ${\eta}=3$, annealing at $500^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour and additional drawing up to total strain of ${\eta}=4$.

Characterization of microstructures and mechanical properties of 83mm thickness EH36-TM welds produced by the combined flux cored arc (FCA) and electro gas (EG) welding processes has been studied with the two different groove conditions, single-V (SV) and double-V (DV) bevels. The welding consumables used for FCA and EG welding processes were ASME/AWS A5.29 (E81T1-K2) and A5.26 (EG72T), respectively. Experimental results showed that all the mechanical properties of welds such as tensile property, CVN toughness and Vickers hardness met IACS requirements. The tensile strength of EG welded plates were reduced by approximately 4% (DV: 3.8%, SV: 4.2%) compared to the base metal. The hardness value of SV-beveled weld metal was slightly lower than that of DV-beveled one. There were no significant differences as per welding groove conditions except for the weld metal. In addition, at the fusion line, the toughness of SV condition was 20J lower and the weld metal was 40J lower than DV condition, respectively. On the basis of microstructural analysis, grain boundary ferrite (GBF) structures for SV condition were 2 times higher volume fraction than for DV condition and their packet sizes were coarsened to almost double. It was thus suggested that the GBF volume fractions and packet sizes in the weld metal of EH36-TM steel plates are the most important factors affecting the mechanical properties of the combined FCA and EG welded joint. Nevertheless, all the results of welds with both DV and SV conditions were found to be excellent.
