To characterize worker's exposure to glass fibers, to find the correlation between airborne total dust concentrations and fiber concentrations and to recommend an appropriate evaluation method for worker's exposure to fibrous dusts in glass wool industry, we carried out this study. Average respirable fiber levels at five factories were 0.013-0.056 f/cc, and fairly below the OSHA PEL, 1 f/cc. A factory showed the lowest airborne fiber level, 0.013 f/cc, which was different significantly from those of other factories of which average fiber concentration was 0.046 f/cc. The cutting and grinding operations of insulation products resulted in higher airborne fiber cocentrations than any other processes(p<0.05). To characterize airborne fiber dimension, fiber length and diamter were determined using phase contrast microscope. The geometric means of airborne fiber lengths were $42-105 \mu m$. One factory had airborne fibers whose length distribution(GM = $105 \mu m$) was different from those of other factories(GM = $42-50 \mu m$). The percentages of respirable fibers less thinner than 3 gm were 38.9-90.9% at four factories, and two factories of them had the higher percentages than others. The findings explain for variation of airborne fiber diameters between factories. On the other hand, between the processes were the difference of fiber-length distributions observed. The cutting and grinding operations showed shorter fiber-length distributions than the fiber forming one. However, fiber-diameter distributions or respirable fiber contents were similar in all processes. The airborne fiber concentrations and the dust concentrations had relatively weak correlation(r=0.25), thus number of fibers couldn't be expected reliably from dust amount. Fiber count is appropriate for assessing accurate exposures and health effects caused by fibrous dusts including glass fibers. Ministry of Labor have established occupational exposure limit to glass fibers as nuisiance dust, but should establish it on the basis of respirable fiber concentration to provide adequate protection for worker's health

Natural habitats of the Korean long-tailed goral (Naemorhedus caudatus) have been fragmented by anthropogenic activities in South Korea in the last decades. Here, the individual identity, genetic variation, and population differentiation of the endangered species were examined via the multiple-tube approach using a non-invasive genotyping method. The average number of alleles was 3.16 alleles/locus for the total population. The Yanggu population (1.66) showed relatively lower average number of alleles than the Inje population (3.67). Of the total 19 alleles, only seven (36.8%) alleles were shared by the two populations. Using five polymorphic out of six loci, four and six different goral individuals from the captive Yanggu (n=24) and the wild Inje (n=28) population were identified, respectively. The allele distribution was not identical between the two populations (Fisher's exact test: P<0.01). A considerably low migration rate was detected between the two populations (no. of migrants after correction for size=0.294). Additionally, the F statistics results indicated significant population differentiation between them, however, quite low (FST=0.327, P<0.01). The posterior probabilities indicated that the two populations originated from a single panmictic population (P=0.959) and the assignment test results designated all individuals to both populations with nearly equal likelihood. These could be resulted from moderate population differentiation between the populations. No significant evidence supported recent population bottleneck in the total Korean goral population. This study could provide us with useful population genetic information for conservation and management of the endangered species.
In this paper, we study that the solutions to perturbed differential system $$y^{\prime}=f(t,y)+{{\displaystyle\smashmargin{2}{\int\nolimits_{t_0}}^{t}}g(s,y(s),T_1y(s))ds+h(t,y(t),T_2y(t))$$ have uniformly Lipschitz stability by imposing conditions on the perturbed part ${\int_{t0}^{t}}g(s,y(s),T_1y(s))ds,h(t,y(t),T_2y(t))$, and on the fundamental matrix of the unperturbed system y' = f(t, y) using integral inequalities.
We have studied PHEMTs optimization by means of fabrication of PHEMTs. All PHEMTs have been fixed with a gate length of 0.1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, a gate head size of 0.75${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, and two gate fingers. We have measured the characteristics of PHEMTs with variation of source-drain spacing, pad size, and gate width. As a result, we have found the enhanced characteristics of $I_{dss}$, $S_{21}$, $h_{21}$, $f_{T}$, $f_{max}$, and $G_{ms}$ with increasing gate width. Also, $g_{m}$ has improved with decreasing source-drain spacing, and $S_{21}$ has improved with deceasing pad size.e.e.e.e.
In this paper, we show that the solutions to perturbed differential system $$y^{\prime}=f(t,y)+{{\displaystyle\smashmargin{2}{\int\nolimits_{t_0}}^{t}}g(s,y(s),T_1y(s))ds+h(t,y(t),T_2y(t))$$ have asymptotic property by imposing conditions on the perturbed part ${\int_{t_0}^{t}}g(s,y(s),T_1y(s))ds,h(t,y(t),T_2y(t))$, and on the fundamental matrix of the unperturbed system y' = f(t, y).
The present study is the first report of molecular variations in different accessions of Rauvolfia tetraphylla L.f, a medicinally important plant collected from seven locations of Andhra Pradesh, India. Molecular analysis was carried out using RAPD markers. Out of the 40 primers screened from OPA and OPC Kts, a total of 205 scorable polymorphic markers out of 397 total markers were generated. Polymorphism of 51.6% was found with 3 unique markers. Levels of genetic diversity within accessions i.e., the genetic distance ranged from 0.816-0.932. Cluster analysis based on Dice coefficient showed two major groups indicating that mostly in cross-pollinated plants, high levels of differentiation among accessions exists independent of geographical distance. Hence the results of the present study can be seen as a starting point for future researches on the population and evolutionary genetics of this species. Understanding such variation would also facilitate their use in various conservational management practices, rootstock breeding and hybridisation programmes.
This paper presents a switched self-biasing and a tail current-shaping technique to suppress the 1/f noise from a tail current source in differential cross-coupled inductance-capacitance (LC) voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs). The proposed LC VCO has an amplitude control characteristic due to the creation of negative feedback for the oscillation waveform amplitude. It is fabricated using a 0.13 ${\mu}m$ CMOS process. The measured phase noise is -117 dBc/Hz at a 1 MHz offset from a 4.85 GHz carrier frequency, while it draws 6.5 mA from a 0.6 V supply voltage. For frequency tuning, process variation, and temperature change, the amplitude change rate of the oscillation waveform in the proposed VCO is 2.1 to 3.2 times smaller than that of an existing VCO with a fixed bias. The measured amplitude change rate of the oscillation waveform for frequency tuning from 4.55 GHz to 5.04 GHz is 131 pV/Hz.
We show the boundedness and uniform Lipschitz stability for the solutions to the functional perturbed differential system $$y^{\prime}=f(t,y)+{\normalsize\displaystyle\smashmargin{2}{\int\nolimits_{t_0}}^t}g(s,y(s),\;T_1y(s))ds+h(t,y(t),\;T_2y(t))$$, under perturbations. We impose conditions on the perturbed part ${\int_{t_0}^{t}}g(s,y(s)$, $T_1y(s))ds$, $h(t,y(t)$, $T_2y(t))$, and on the fundamental matrix of the unperturbed system y' = f(t, y) using the notion of h-stability.
This paper aims to analyze the acoustic effects of vowels produced in a distant-talking environment. The analysis was performed using a statistical method. The influence of gender and speakers on the variation was also examined. The speech data used in this study consist of 500 distant-talking words and 500 normal words of 10 speakers (5 males and 5 females). Acoustic features selected for the analysis were the duration, the formants (Fl and F2), the fundamental frequency and the total energy. The results showed that the duration, F0, F1 and the total energy increased in the distant-talking speech compared to normal speech; female speakers showed higher increase in all features except for the total energy and the fundamental frequency. In addition, speaker differences were observed.
