Sintering Effects on Fe/Mo Ordering and Magnetoresistance in Double Perovskite Sr2FeMoO6

  • We have investigated sintering effects on Fe/Mo ordering and magnetoresistance (MR) in double perovskite-reflection lines due to $Sr_2FeMoO_6$ (SFMO). Polycrystalline samples have been prepared by the conventional solid-state reaction by sintering in a stream of 5% $H_2/Ar$ gas. All samples are single phase and exhibit a series of superstructurecation ordering at Fe and Mo sites. As sintering temperature increases from 900 to $1300^{\circ}C$, the degree of Fe/Mo ordering increases from 82 to 92%, magnetization (15 K, 7 kOe) increases from 1.6 to 2.7 ${\mu}_B/f.u.,$ and Curie temperature increases at a rate of 4.3 K/% with the increase of Fe/Mo ordering ratio. The magnitude of MR measured at 5 K is 19% for sample prepared at $1000^{\circ}C$ with magnetic fields of 7 kOe. The observed MR is proportional to the square of magnetization indicating that the MR feature in SFMO is explained by the spin-polarized tunneling at grain boundaries.

Effective of $Li_2CO_3$ and ZnBO for low temperature sintered $(Ba_{0.5},Sr_{0.5})TiO_3$ ceramics (BST 세라믹 저온소결에 $Li_2CO_3$와 ZnBO가 미치는 영향)

  • The $(B_{0.5},Sr_{0.5})TiO_3$ ceramics, which added with low sintering materials $Li_2CO_3$ and ZnBO, was investigated for LTCC(low temperature co-fired ceramic) applications. To compare sintering temperature of $(B_{0.5},Sr_{0.5})TiO_3$ respectively, we added 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5wt% of $Li_2CO_3$ and ZnBO to $(B_{0.5},Sr_{0.5})TiO_3$. For confirming the sintering temperature, the respective specimens were sintered from $750^{\circ}C$ to $1200^{\circ}C$ by $50^{\circ}C$. The case of $Li_2CO_3$ greatly lowered the sintering temperature of $(B_{0.5},Sr_{0.5})TiO_3$ ($1350^{\circ}C$) below $900^{\circ}C$. The addition of ZnBO improved the loss tangent of $(B_{0.5},Sr_{0.5})TiO_3$. The crystalline structure of $LiCO_3$ doped $(B_{0.5},Sr_{0.5})TiO_3$ and ZnBO doped $(B_{0.5},Sr_{0.5})TiO_3$ was analyzed with the X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. The dielectric permittivity and loss tangent of $Li_2CO_3$ doped BST and ZnBO doped BST were measured with the HP 4284A precision. From the electrical characterization, we respectively obtained the dielectric permittivity 1361, loss tangent $6.94{\times}10^{-3}$ at $Li_2CO_3$ doped $(B_{0.5},Sr_{0.5})TiO_3$ (3wt%) and the dielectric constant 1180, loss tangent $3.70{\times}10^{-3}$ at ZnBO doped $(B_{0.5},Sr_{0.5})TiO_3$(5wt%).

  • $Eu^{3+}$ 이온의 농도비를 변화시키면서 고상 반응법을 사용하여 적색 형광체 $Sr_{1-1.5x}MoO_4:Eu_x{^{3+}}$ 분말을 합성하였다. 제조한 형광체의 결정 구조는 X-선 회절 장치를 사용하여 정방정계임을 확인하였고, 광학 특성은 형광 광도계를 사용하여 상온에서 측정하였다. $Eu^{3+}$ 이온의 농도비가 0.01 mol인 형광체의 경우에, 파장 295 nm로 여기시켰을 때 주된 발광은 파장 619 nm에 최대 세기를 갖는 적색 형광을 나타내었으며, 최대 흡수 스펙트럼은 넓은 밴드를 갖고 파장 302 nm에서 관측되었다.

Proton Conduction in Y2O3-doped SrZrO3 (Y2O3가 도핑된 SrZrO3에서의 프로톤전도도)

  • Electrical conduction of $SrZrO_3$ doped with $Y_2O_3$ was measured as a function of gas atmosphere and temperature by impedance spectroscopy. Hydrogen dissolution, due to an enhanced driving force in the presence of oxygen, results in protonation by water incorporation. Proton conductivity increased with water vapor pressure, ${P_w}^{1/2}$. In the pure hydrogen atmosphere, the dissolution of hydrogen,$H_2(g)=2H_{i}$ +2e', is supposed to be driven by a reduced activity of electrons, ascribable to their trapping in oxygen vacancies. The activation energy of electrical conductivity was 50 kJ/mol, in wet argon atmosphere in the temperature range of $600~900^{\circ}C$, similar to those reported for proton conduction in the literature. Grain boundary effect in proton conduction was substantial in the 10% doped case at temperatures lower than $700^{\circ}C$.

  • 최근 고주파 유전체 소재로 많이 연구가 되고 있는 $BaSrTiO_3$ 소재와 polymer계열을 이용한 composite복합체를 이용하여 embedded capacitor를 제작하였으며, 후막을 제작하기 위한 방법으로는 두께의 신뢰성이 비교적 높은 screen printing기법을 사용하여 제작하였다. 제작된 소자의 온도별, 주파수별 특성을 연구하여 그 응용 가능성을 알아보았다.

  • Doping effect of various ions in Bi-layered ferroelectric $SrBi_2$$Nb_2$$O_{9}$ (SBN) ceramics was studied. Undoped SBN ceramic and SBN ceramics doped with $Ba^{2+}$, $Pb^{2+}$,$ Ca^{2+}$ , $Bi^{3+}$ , $La^{3+}$ , $Ti^{4+}$ , $Mo^{6+}$ , and $W^{6+}$ ions were made by a solid state reaction. Dielectric constants were measured with temperature. Ferroelectric transition temperature decreased with $Pb^{2+}$ , $Ba^{2+}$ , $La^{3+}$ doping, but the transition temperature increased with $Ca^{2+}$ , $Bi^{3+}$ , $Ti^{4+}$, $Mo^{6+}$ , or$ W^{6+}$ ionic doping. These results show that the ion size plays an important role in the ferroelectricity of SBN ceramic.

  • Temporal and spatial distribution patterns of the magmatic rocks and associated ore deposits in the Mesozoic magmatic - metallogenic belt along the Yangtz River, Anhui Province are used to determine and discuss the crust - mantle interaction processes. The magmatic rocks are Cu - Au mineralized high - K calc - alkalic intermediate ¬acidic (CAK) and Fe - Cu mineralized high - Na alkalic - calc intermediate - basic intrusive rocks (FCN) in the central part of the belt and grade to Cu - Mo - Pb - Zn - Ag mineralized calc - alkalic granitoids (CMG) and A - type granites (AG) in the southern and northern parts of the belt. Samples from the CAK and CMG yield Rb - Sr isochron ages of 137 - 140Ma with $(^{87}Sr/^{86}Sr)_{o}$ = 0.7060 - 0.7101, while those from the FCN and AG yield the ages of 120 - 129Ma with $(^{87}Sr/^{86}Sr)_{o}$ = 0.7047 - 0.7077. The Sr isotope ratios, CriTh ratios 0.4 - 3.1), Eu/Eu* ratios < 0.79 - 1.05) and initial epsilon (Nd) values (-16.6 - -6.3) for the CAK and CMG are consistent with magma derivation from old metamorphic basement rocks rich in metallogenic elements through a two - stage process of mantle - derived magma underplating caused by primary lithosphere extension and subsequent partial melting. On the basis of Sr isotope data, CriTh ratios (3.4 - 13.8), Eu/Eu* ratios (0.86 - 1.13) and initial epsilon (Nd) values (-7.7 - +1.4), the FCN and AG are considered to be formed through syntexis with material input from the mantle that resulted from further lithosphere extension followed by mantle - derived magma underplating on a large scale.

A Kr öger-Vink Compatible Notation for Defects in Inherently Defective Sublattices

  • Traditional Kr$\ddot{o}$ger-Vink (K-V) notation defines sites in ionic crystals as interstitial or belonging to host ions. It enables description and calculations of combinations of native and foreign defects, including dopants and substituents. However, some materials exhibit inherently disordered partial occupancy of ions and vacancies, or partial occupancy of two types of ions. For instance, the high temperature disordered phases of $Bi_2O_3$, $Ba_2In_2O_5$, $La_2Mo_2O_9$, mayenite $Ca_{12}Al_{14}O_{33}$, AgI, and $CsHSO_4$ are all good ionic conductors and thus obviously contain charged point defects. But traditional K-V notation cannot account for a charge compensating defect in each case, without resorting to terms like "100% substitution" or "Frenkel disorder". the former arbitrary and awkward and the latter inappropriate. Instead, a K-V compatible nomenclature in which the partially occupied site is defined as the perfect site, has been proposed. I here introduce it thoroughly and provide a number of examples.
