G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are membrane receptors whose agonist-induced dynamic conformational changes trigger heterotrimeric G protein activation, followed by GRK-mediated phosphorylation and arrestin-mediated desensitization. Cytosolic regions of GPCRs have been studied extensively because they are direct contact sites with G proteins, GRKs, and arrestins. Among various cytosolic regions, the role of helix 8 is least understood, although a few studies have suggested that it is involved in G protein activation, receptor localization, and/or internalization. In the present study, we investigated the role of helix 8 in dopamine receptor signaling focusing on dopamine D1 receptor (D1R) and dopamine D2 receptor (D2R). D1R couples exclusively to Gs, whereas D2R couples exclusively to Gi. Bioinformatic analysis implied that the sequences of helix 8 may affect GPCR-G protein coupling selectivity; therefore, we evaluated if swapping helix 8 between D1R and D2R changed G protein selectivity. Our results suggest that helix 8 is not involved in D1R-Gs or D2R-Gi coupling selectivity. Instead, we observed that D1R with D2R helix 8 or D1R with an increased number of hydrophobic residues in helix 8 relative to wild-type showed diminished ${\beta}$-arrestin-mediated desensitization, resulting in increased Gs signaling.

단위원을 가지는 하환환에 있어서의 Prime Spectrum에 관하여 다음 세가지 사실을 증명하였다. 1. X를 환 R의 prime spectrum, C(X)를 X에서 정의되는 실연적함수의 환, X를 C(X)의 maximal spectrum이라 하면 X는 C(X)의 prime spectrum의 부분공간으로서의 한 T-space로 된다. N을 환 R의 nilradical이라 하면, R/N이 regula 이면 X와 X는 위상동형이다. 2. f: R$\longrightarrow$R'을 ring homomorphism, P를 R의 한 Prime ideal, $R_{p}$, R'$_{p}$를 각각 S=R-P 및 f(S)에 관한 분수환(ring of fraction)이라 하고, k(P)를 local ring $R_{p}$의 residue' field라 할 때, R'의 prime spectrum의 부분공간인 $f^{*-1}$(P)는 k(P)(equation omitted)$_{R}$R'의 prime spectrum과 위상동형이다. 단 f*는 f*(Q)=$f^{-1}$(Q)로서 정의되는 함수 s*:Spec(R')$\longrightarrow$Spec(R)이다. 3. X를 환 S의 prime spectrum, N을 R의 nilradical이라 할 때, 다음 네가지 사실은 동치이다. (1) R/N 은 regular 이다. (2) X는 Zarski topology에 관하여 Hausdorff 공간이다. (3) X에서의 Zarski topology와 constructible topology와는 일치한다. (4) R의 임의의 원소 f에 대하여 f를 포함하지 않는 R의 prime ideal 전체의 집합 $X_{f}$는 Zarski topology에 관하여 개집합인 동시에 폐집합이다.폐집합이다....

Correlation between the rice panicle blast and the rice quality and yield was evaluated in field experiments. Results showed that there were high positive correlations between the disease incidence and the rice yield and quality. The correlation coefficients between the disease incidence and the yield of Jinmibyeo, an early maturing cultivar and Juanbyeo, an middle maturing cultivar were $R^2$=0.6518 and $R^2$=0.7977, respectively. As the disease incidence increased weight of 1,000 grains of the two cultivars decreased showing coefficients $R^2$=0.6848 and $R^2$=0.7841, respectively. Percentage of matured grains in healthy plots were 95 and 98%, however, as the disease incidence increased percentage of matured rice grains decreased showing $R^2$=0.4745 in Jinmibyeo and $R^2$=0.703 in Juanbyeo. As the disease increased, rate of the damaged rice also increased, showing $R^2$=0.6607 in Jinmibyeo and $R^2$=0.6706 in Juanbyeo, respectively.

Evaporation heat transfer coefficients of carbon dioxide($CO_2$), R-22, and R-134a in a horizontal smooth tube were measured and analyzed as a function of heat flux, mass flux, and evaporating temperature. The experiments were carried out by varying heat flux from 10 to 20 $kW/m^2$, mass flux from 170 to 340 $kg/m^2s$, and saturation temperatures of 5 and $10^{\circ}C$. It was found that the heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ decreased with a rise of quality due to an earlier liquid-film dryout as compared to R-22 and R-134a. Averaged heat transfer coefficients of $CO_2$ were 22-63% higher than those of R-22 and R-134a at all test conditions. The effects of mass flux and heat flux on averaged heat transfer coefficients were much greater in $CO_2$ than in R-22 and R-134a. When comparing $CO_2$ test results with the correlations in the literature, the existing models yielded large deviations at medium and high qualities. Therefore, a generalized correlation for $CO_2$evaporation heat transfer needs to be developed by including the effects of dryout phenomenon.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of graded levels of a herbal recipe(Herb Mix $Gold^{(R)}$, Herb BIO Co.) supplemented to a commercial layer diet. The Herb Mix $Gold^{(R)}$ is an improved recipe of Herb $Mix^{(R)}$, fortified with Angelica gigas, Discorea japonica and Ligusticum jeholense. A total of 720 layers (Hy-Line Brown) of 45 wks old were assigned to one of six treatments; control, 0.2% Herb $Mix^{(R)}$, 0.1%, 0.2%, and 0.3% Herb Mix $Gold^{(R)}$, and 6 ppm Avilamycin. Each treatment had 6 replicates of 20 birds each housed in 2 birds cages. Birds were fed diets and water ad libitum for 5 weeks. Hen-day egg production was significantly (P<0.05) different among treatments. Herb Mix $Gold^{(R)}$ 0.2% treatment showed the highest egg production followed by Herb Mix $Gold^{(R)}$ 0.3%, Herb $Mix^{(R)}$ 0.2%, Herb Mix $Gold^{(R)}$ 0.1%, Avilamycin 6 ppm and the control. Hen-housed egg production, egg weight, soft and broken egg ration, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, shell strength, shell thickness, shell color index, Haugh unit and yolk color index were not significantly different among treatments. Nor was cfu of Cl. perfringens and E. coli and Lactobacilli in the small intestinal content significantly different among treatments. The number of white and red blood cells, hemoglobin, heterophil, lymphocyte, thus heterophil to lymphocyte ratio were not significantly modified. It was concluded that Herb Mix $Gold^{(R)}$ at the level of 0.2% in the layer diet improves laying performance.

We study the class of rings R with the property that for $x{\in}R$ at least one of the elements x and 1 + x are tripotent. We prove that a commutative ring has this property if and only if it is a subring of a direct product $R_0{\times}R_1{\times}R_2$ such that $R_0/J(R_0){\cong}{\mathbb{z}}_2$, for every $x{\in}J(R_0)$ we have $x^2=2x$, $R_1$ is a Boolean ring, and $R_3$ is a subring of a direct product of copies of ${\mathbb{z}}_3$.

The application of hydrocarbon refrigerant mixtures in a hermetic reciprocating compressor for dehumidifier is investigated. The selected refrigerants are R12, R134a, HC-Blend (R290/R600a), CX(R152a/R600a) and OS-l2a. Both theoretical and experimental investigations have been performed for the selected refrigerants. The test results of hydrocarbon refrigerants have been compared to traditional refrigerant(R12) and R134a. The results show that hydrocarbon refrigerant mixtures(HC-Blend, CX and OS-l2a) are very good alternatives in the refrigeration system for R12 and R134a.

cis-Malonato[(4R,5R)-4,5-bis(aminomethyl)-2-isopropyl-1,3-dioxolane]platinum(II)(SKI 2053R), an antitumor platinum complex, was selected for clinical evaluation on the basis of its experimental antitumor and toxicologic profiles in preclinical studies. These studies were performed to obtain information on its toxic signs, orgnas which are mainly affected, and to estimate its lethality in mice and rats given SKI 2053R through two routes of administration. In male and female rats given a single intragastrical dose of SKI 2053R, we estimated that $LD_{50}$ values were over 3.00g/kg, respectively. In male and female mice given a signle intragastrical dose of SKI 2053R, we estimated that $LD_{50}$ values were 2.44g/kg and 1.59g/kg, respectively, In a single intraperitoneal dose of SKI 2053R, we determined that $LD_{50}$ values of male and female rats were 227mg/kg and 182mg/kg, and those of male and female mice were 198mg/kg and 207mg/kg, respectively. In gross and histopathological examinations on dead animals, we found that kidney and liver were mainly affected.

Highly reliable packaged 64kbit ferroelectric memories with $0.8{\;}\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS ensuring ten-year retention and imprint at 125^{\circ}C$ have been successfully developed. These superior reliabilities have resulted from steady integration schemes free from the degradation, due to layer stress and attacks of process impurities. The resent results of research and development for ferroelectric memories at Hynix Semiconductor Inc. are summarized in this invited paper.

As a generalizaton of the concepts of fuzzy strongly semiopen sets and fuzzy strongly semicontinuous maps, we introduce the concepts of fuzzy strongly r-semiopen sets and fuzzy strongly r-semicontinuous maps in fuzzy topology. Also we introduce fuzzy r-semicontinuous and fuzzy r-semiclosure. By these concept, we characterize fuzzy strongly r-semicontinuous, fuzzy strongly r-semiopen and fuzzy strongly r-semiclosed maps.
