A study on Dielectric Properties using PMN Ceramics with La substitution (La치환된 PMN계 세라믹스의 유전특성에 관한 연구)

  • The dielectric and polarizable properties of $0.9Pb_{1-x}La_x({Mg}_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.1PbTiO_3$ (x=0,1,2,3,4,5) have been investigated. The temperature-dependant electrostictive characteristics of 0.9PMN-0.1PT relaxor ferroelectric system were improved by enhencing the extent of the diffuse phase transition(DPT). This was achieved using PMN-PTceramics by the partial substitution of La at the Pb site. The curie temperature and the maximum dielectric permittivity decreased by substituting La and the electric field-related hysteresis phenomena decreased with increasing La substitution amount.

  • Piezoelectric and dielectric properties as functions of x and y mole ratio in yPb(ZrxTil-x)O$_3$(1-y)Pb(Mn$\_$1/3/Nb/2/3/)O$_3$, ceramics, PZT-PMN, are investigated for large displacement piezoelectric devices. From the experimental results, when y is 0.95 and x is 0.505, the piezoelectric and dielectric properties are maximum, that is, electromechanical coupling coefficient(kp), piezoelectric strain constant(d$\_$33/), permittivity($\varepsilon$$\_$33/$\^$T//$\varepsilon$$\_$0/), and Curie temperature are 58 %, 272 pC/N, 1520 and about 350$^{\circ}C$, respectively. Also, when y is 0.90 and x is 0.50, their properties are 56 %, 242 pC/N, 1220, and 290$^{\circ}C$, respectively. As MgO dopant is added from 0 wt% to 1 wt%, kp increases to 63 % and Qm decreases to 500 at the MgO dopant of 0.1 wt%, and then kp decreases to 57 % as MgO is added.

  • In this paper, the piezoelectric and dielectric properties as a function of x and a in $aPbZr_xTi_{1-x}O_3-(1-a)Pb(Mn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$ + ywt%MgO is investigated. As a results, when a is 0.95 and x is 0.505, electromechanical coupling factor$(k_p)$, permittivity${\varepsilon}_33^T/{\varepsilon}_0$, piezoelectric strain constant$(d_{33})$ and mechanical quality factor$(Q_m)$ are 58 %, 1520, 272 pC/N and 1550, respectively. From XRD analysis, when x is 0.505, it is MPB which present rhombohedral and tetragonal phase in same quantity. Also, From SEM observation, when sintering temperature is $1150^{\circ}C$, grain size is about $2\;{\mu}m$. As a results added MgO dopant in the ternary piezoelectric ceramic, when MgO content is 0.1 wt%, $k_p$ increases to 63[%].

  • Microwave dielectric properties of (P $b_{0.4}$C $a_{0.6}$)[($Fe_{\frac{1}{2}}$N $b_{\frac{1}{2}}$)$_{1-x}$ (M $g_{1}$ 3/N $b_{2}$ 3/)x] $O_3$ (PCFMN) ceramics were investigated as a function of (M $g_{1}$ 3/N $b_{2}$ 3/)$^{4+}$ content (0.1$\leq$x$\leq$0.8). A single perovskite phase with the cubic structure was obtained through the given composition range. The unit cell volume was increased with (M $g_{1}$ 3/N $b_{2}$ 3/)$^{4+}$, due to the larger average ionic size of (M $g_{1}$ 3/N $b_{2}$ 3/)$^{4+}$ than that of ($Fe_{\frac{1}{2}}$N $b_{\frac{1}{2}}$)$^{4+}$ for B-site ion. Dielectric constant (K) and Temperature Coefficient of Resonant Frequency(TCF) of PCFMN ceramics were dependent on (M $g_{1}$ 3/N $b_{2}$ 3/)$^{4+}$ content due to the decrease of ionic polarizability and B-site bond valence, respectively. Qf value was decreased with (M $g_{1}$ 3/N $b_{2}$ 3/)$^{4+}$ content due to the decrease of grain size. Typically, K of 73.56, Qf of 5,074 GHz and TCF of -6.45 ppm/$^{\circ}C$ were obtained for the specimens with x=0.4 sintered at 125$0^{\circ}C$ for 3 h.125$0^{\circ}C$ for 3 h.

  • In this study, we investigated the possibilty that $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-PbTiO_3-PbZrO_3$ ceramics with strontium substitutions could be used for piezoelectric sounders. Piezoelectric buzzer is one of them. By partially substituting Sr for Ph, dielectric constants had values greater than 2000, the value proper piezoelectric buzzer, piezoelectric constant($d_{31}$) had a maximum value, 298 $[10^{-12}C/N]$, at the Sr 5 mol % substitution. Sound level of piezoelectric buzzer had the highest value of 91 dB at the Sr 5 mol % substitution.

  • 본 연구에서는 압전 세라믹과 고분자를 혼합한 복합체를 제작하고 이러한 재료로부터 발생될 수 있는 미소 전력량을 조사하였다. 압전 세라믹으로는 0.2(PbMg1/3Nb2/3O3)-0.8(PbZr0.475Ti0.525O3)와 고분자는 PVPF-TrFE (6:4)를 사용하였다. 고분자와 압전 세라믹 분율을 1%, 5%, 10%, 30%, 50%로 변화하였으며, 구조는 0-3 복합재료 및 1-3 재료를 제작하였다. 제작한 결과 0.3 복합재료에서는 분율이 10%에서 가장 큰 전력량이 발생되었고, 1-3 복합재료에서는 분율이 30%에서 최대 값을 나타내었다. 이러한 결과들을 간단한 식을 이용하여 분석을 하였다.

  • The dielectric and electrical properties of $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-PbTiO_3-BaTiO_3$ have been investigated. Perovskite crystalline phase of the specimens is confimed by XRD. The curie temperature decrease with increasing $BaTiO_3$ and hysteresis phenomena decrease with increasement of $BaTiO_3$. The strain vs. applied voltage characteristics exhibit nonlinear relationship and the specimen. of 0.9PMN-0.08PT-0.02BT shows the largest strain.

Preparation of PMN-PT-BT/Ag Composite and its Mechanical and Dielectric Properties (PMN-PT-BT/Ag 복합체 제조 및 기계적, 유전적 특성)

  • A PMN-PT-BT/Ag composite was prepared by surface modification with MgO sol with hoping to suppress silver's migration during sintering. The mixture of PbO, $N_2O_5,\;TiO_2\;with\;Mg(NO_3)_2$ instead of MgO was ball milled, the solvent was removed and then the dried powders were calcined at 950$^{\circ}C$/1h. The calcined powder were treated with 3.0 mol% $Ag_2O$ and 1.0 wt% MgO sol and calcined at 550$^{\circ}C$/1h. The dielectrics sintered at 1000$^{\circ}C$/4h under a flowing oxygen showed the density of 7.84g/$cm^3$, the room temperature dielectric constant of 18400, the dielectric loss of 2.4%, the specific resistivity of $0.24{\times}10^{12}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$. It also showed the bending strength of $120.7{\pm}11.26$ MPa and the fracture toughness of $0.87{\pm}0.002\;MPam^{1/2}$ which were comparable to commercial PZT. The microstructure sonsisted of grains of ∼4${\mu}m$. SEM and SIMS analysis showed that Ag grew as ∼1${\mu}m$ and excess MgO as ∼0.5${\mu}m$.

Field-Induced Strain and Polarization Characteristics of La-Modified PMN-PT Ceramics (La 변성 PMN-PT계 강유전체의 전계유기변위와 분극특성)

  • Pb(Mg$_{1}$3/Nb$_{2}$3)O$_{3}$[PMN]-PbTiO$_{3}$[PT]계 고용체의 상경계조성(MPB)영역에 대해 La을 첨가하여 변성시킨 La변성 (1-x)PMN-xPT(x=0.35) 고용체를 만들어 온도-유전율 특성, 전계유기 분극특성 및 변위특성을 조사하였다. PMN-PT의 상경영역의 조성인 x=0.35에 대해 La함량을 0-10at%까지 변화시켰다. PMN-PT계 고용체에서 PT 의 함량이 증가함에 따라 전계유기변위 및 히스테리시스 특성이 모두 증가하였다. 전계유기변위 값 $\varepsilon$ 는 능면정과 정방정의 공존영역인 MPB(x=0.35)조성에서 가장 높은 값($\varepsilon$ = 2 x $10^{-3}$)을 보여 주었다. MPB조성에 대해 La을 첨가한 계의 전계유기변위를 조사한 결과 La의 첨가량이 적을 때 (La=0-5at%)는 La의 함량이 증가함에 따라 히스테리시스 특성이 감소하였고 $\varepsilon$ 은 증가하여 고성능의 액튜에이터 재료에 적합한 조성물로 기대된다.

Geochemical Composition of Volcanic Ash from Historical Eruptions of Mt. Baekdu, Korea (역사시대에 분화한 백두산 화산재의 화학 성분)

  • Volcanic ash samples of historical eruptions from Mt. Baekdu were analyzed for major oxides, trace and rare earth elements by a variety of analytical techniques. The results indicate that the ashes consist of approximately 58.8~71.1 wt.% $SiO_2$, 9.6~16.8 wt.% $Al_2O_3$, 4.5~6.9 wt.% $Fe_2O_{3t}$, 0.1~1.7 wt.% MgO, 0.3~1.6 wt.% CaO, 5.2~6.3 wt.% $Na_2O$, 4.3~5.9 wt.% $K_2O$ and less than 1.2 wt.% $TiO_2$. Thirty two trace metals including Ba, Cu, Cr. Co, Ni, Sr, V, Zn, and Zr were analyzed. The ashes can be divided two groups: group A(1 ka Millennium pumice, 1668 and $190{\underline{3}}$ pumice) and group B(1702 pumice) according to the relative enrichment of HREEs. The abundances of heavy metals such as Cu, Co, Mn, and Zn were relatively low. As compared to the Sakurajima volcanic ash, Baekdusan volcanic ash has low concentrations of Y, Nb, Pb, U, Sc, V, Ni and Cu and high concentrations of Zr, Ba, Hf, Cr, Co, Zn and rare-earth (except Eu).
